A report from the Philadelphia Inquirer indicates LGBTQ groups and others in liberal voting blocs are buying guns for self-defense ahead of Donald Trump’s inauguration.
According to the Inquirer, “The … Liberal Gun Club … has received thousands of training requests since the election, more than in all of 2023,” a quarter of which are from members of the LGBTQ community. The Socialist Rifle Association has seen a surge in memberships as well, as have the Pink Pistols. (X) A Pink Pistols’ slogan says, “Armed Gays Don’t Get Bashed.”
Matthew Thompson, a New Jersey resident who is gay, said, “The people I’ve been seeing on the left and the gay people who are

Hollywood actor Jon Cryer, who referred to himself as “somewhat stupidly woke,” told Bill Maher that Vice President Kamala lost the 2024 election to President-elect Donald Trump because Americans “hate black women.”
“They hate inflation, they hate riots, and they hate black women, and they hate trans people,” Cryer said of Americans, explaining why he believes Harris lost the 2024 presidential election.
“They don’t hate black–” Maher rebutted, but was cut off by Cryer, who was claiming that Republicans also spent millions of dollars “dehumanizing trans people.”
“We shouldn’t talk politics,” Maher replied,

As my colleague Mike Miller reported earlier Sunday, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) appeared on NBC’s “Meet the Press” Sunday and proceeded to gaslight viewers about his—and the entire Democrat/Corrupt Media establishment's—efforts to conceal Joe Biden’s obvious mental decline. Schumer went into full shameless mode, and basically denied what he said even when host Kristen Welker played a clip of him saying it. But Chuck had more to say, and when asked to analyze the Democrats' electoral defeats in the November elections, when the GOP took control of the House, Senate, and Oval Office, he appeared to blame voters for being too stupid

WASHINGTON — President Biden is moving to ban new offshore oil and gas drilling in most U.S. coastal waters, a last-minute effort to block possible action by the incoming Trump administration to expand offshore drilling.
Biden, whose term expires in two weeks, said he is using authority under the federal Outer Continental Shelf Lands Act to protect offshore areas along the East and West coasts, the eastern Gulf of Mexico and portions of Alaska’s Northern Bering Sea from future oil and natural gas leasing.
“My decision reflects what coastal communities, businesses and beachgoers have known for a long time: that drilling off these coasts could cause irreversible damage

Senator Mitch McConnell was notably absent from Monday’s 2024 election certification.
“One person I didn’t spot in the House chamber for the election certification: Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.),” a reporter for The Hill said. (X) Last month shocking video posted to X showed Senator Mitch McConnell needing assistance to walk after his fall.
The 82-year-old Kentucky Senator fell down and sprained his wrist at a Senate Republican luncheon in December.

President Joe Biden will ban new offshore oil and gas drilling in more than 625 million acres of federal waters, the White House announced Monday, striking a final blow against domestic energy production just two weeks before President-elect Donald Trump takes office.
The outgoing president is set to use his authority under the 1953 Outer Continental Shelf Lands Act to protect offshore areas along the East Coast, West Coast, eastern Gulf of Mexico, and additional portions of the Northern Bering Sea in Alaska from future oil and gas leasing. Cast as a way to preserve the fishing and tourism industries in the affected states, these steps do not expire.

Bruce Fischer, the husband of U.S. Senator for Nebraska Senator Deb Fischer, had an awkward exchange with Kamala Harris during the one-on-one ceremonial swearing-in of senators with their families.
Following the oath, Harris tells Senator Fischer congratulations and shakes her hand. She then turns to Bruce, who took part in the ceremony by holding the bible for his wife, and extends her hand.
Bruce declined the opportunity to shake hands with Harris, who awkwardly quipped, “I won’t bite.”
Fischer declined the handshake and put his hands in his pockets.

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced Monday that he intends to resign from his post but will stay until a new leader of the Liberal Party is in place.
Trudeau's departure comes amid mounting pressure for him to step aside before an upcoming election that his Liberal party is forecasted to lose badly. The leader also has a complicated, oft-adversarial relationship with Donald Trump, who is set to be sworn in this month as the next U.S. president.

Over the decade of Donald Trump’s political career, the left—as exemplified by Democratic politicos, the media, academics, the Washington military hierarchy, and the permeant bureaucratic state—illustrated a level of furor, venom, and near madness unprecedented in modern American history.
Yet stranger still about such visceral, indeed lunatic hatred, despite Trump’s eccentricities and lack of a traditional political resume, his administration between 2017-21 was successful by traditional economic, military, security, and diplomatic standards. It was certainly not characterized by weaponizing the DOJ, Pentagon, CIA, or FBI, get-even vendettas, the use of lawfare, corruption, optional wars, open borders, hyperinflation, or a war on the environment—as predicted and alleged. Nevertheless,

MTA chair and CEO Janno Lieber brushed off subway crime as “in people’s heads” as congestion pricing launched Monday — forcing more New Yorkers into the plagued public transit system.
Lieber skirted around concerns over safety on the subways during a Monday morning interview on “Bloomberg Surveillance,” telling listeners: “Some of these high-profile incidents, you know, terrible attacks have gotten in people’s heads and made the whole system feel unsafe.”
“The overall stats are positive. Last year we were actually at 12 and a half percent less crime than 2019, the last year before COVID,” Lieber said.

A terrorist attack at 3:15 a.m. on New Year’s Day exposed to the world the deadly consequences of the dysfunctional leadership of New Orleans. The Crescent City has been controlled by the Democratic Party since 1872, when the last Republican Mayor left office. The current Democrat Mayor, LaToya Cantrell, is thankfully in the final year of her second term in office. She has been enmeshed in controversy from the beginning of her tenure as Mayor.
While she survived a recall effort, she is currently embroiled in a federal investigation involving local businessmen, who allegedly gave her gifts in exchange for the firing of a city employee.

Four years later…
The Biden DOJ on Monday revealed it is likely going to charge 200 more Trump supporters related to the January 6, 2021 Capitol protest.
More than 1,500 January 6ers – many nonviolent, first time offenders – have been charged by Merrick Garland’s DOJ in the last four years.
Biden’s DOJ hunted down MAGA grandmothers and other non-violent offenders and threw them in the DC gulag.
Merrick Garland’s prosecutors may unseal indictments at the last minute to derail Trump’s plans to pardon January 6 defendants.
