Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) is recovering at a hospital in Luxembourg. [Snip] Ms. Pelosi tripped going down marble stairs at the Grand Ducal Palace and took a hard fall,... [Snip] People close to Ms. Pelosi in California and Washington, D.C., speaking on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to speak for her, said the former speaker fractured her hip when she fell. They said doctors were confident the damage could be repaired with a routine operation, but it was not yet clear whether that would be done in Luxembourg or in the United States.

It's been discovered that at times, the hip breaks then you fall, especially in old people. She's old. And mean. And nasty. I don't wish pain on anyone but maybe it's time the old bag retires???

Seriously, broken hips in older women especially "active" women like Mrs Pelosi carries a high percentage of mortality in the two years following the injury.

I do not feel bad saying this at all. At her age, especially, hip injuries can take up a year to fully heal. She will be out of commission for at least a few months. Thank you Lord for more blessings.

We've already had "Joy" Reid saying shameful things in an earlier post; I won't add more shameful joy in the form of Schadenfreude for this. But Little Miss Where The Sun Don't Shine ought to have avoided this, by retiring over a decade ago.
Retire already, miscreant!

She's been able to survive without a heart OR brain for over a decade already. A serious injury won't keep her from continuing to cultivate the culture of death. Screwtape is getting mighty proud of her by now...

I know from family experience that fractured hips in elderly women are frequently fatal.

Apparently it is now a hotel. Looks like a potential for a serious fall. Hard as steel and a reasonably steep set of stairs. My wife and I a number of years ago specifically have spoken about the need to always keep on hand on the railing when going up and down ANY stairs. I didn't used to worry much about it, but....I'm not as young as I used to be.
I think this may be the stairs.

She should stay home. She is old. At 84 years of age, she has had many vacations and trips paid for by the U.S. taxpayers.

An elderly who helped serve our dinners at the American legion fell in her basement and broke her hip.
She crawled up the stairs changed her clothes and then called the ambulance.
She didn't want to be seen in her robe. She was a tough old bird.

Approximately 30% of seniors who fall and break a hip die within a year. Of the remaining 70%, a surprisingly high percentage lose their independence. I've seen both outcomes among my family and friends, as well as a family friend who fell and broke his hip and developed Alzheimer's disease. In other words, every hip break is serious.

I am 81 and in good physical condition but I always use a railing going up or down stairs. All the calcium in the world can’t protect 80 year old bones.

Never forgot my elderly mom’s doctor telling her that if she falls, it’s the beginning of the end. He was right, and I’ve seen it a dozen times in the past few years with her and her cohorts. Nancy, and Mitch and Joe, should have retired years ago to enjoy their money, but none of them can’t let go of their skeletal grip on power.

Considering the caring way the liberal treated the killing of the Humana CEO, I think it's great that we have so many posters making fun of Old Nasty doing a 1 & 1/2 gainer on those marble steps. Couldn't happen to a more deserving person!

They should examine her head as well as her hip. She could have a head injury. She should have been using a cane, and walking in sensible shoes, not vanity heels.

#18, my mother lasted only two more years after she broke a hip. In her own kitchen. But really it was dementia that took her life when medical science finally ran out of ways to keep her noodle running.

The price of desperately hanging onto power.
If she doesn't resign by next month, the Dem knives will be out for her, led by the AOC crowd.
I hope she recovers and has the sense to hang it up afterwards.

So. Celebrating the 80th anniversary of the Battle of the Bulge.
At 84, Pelois may have some memory of reporting on the event -- as it happened.
