Can we make the inference that yes indeed, a loving, intact two parent home MIGHT just be the best way to avoid crap like this??

A screwed up home life with minimal parentage. No solid Mother nor Father. Questions, questions, questions. What kind of drugs was prescribed for the child? Ritalin? Was she a bully at school or was she bullied? How easy was it to get a hold of the weapon? Why wasn't the weapon secured out of her reach? At a minimum the Father should be charged for manslaughter for not securing the weapon.

Truly sad that people can't make the connection that taking God out of society is not a solution especially when it states in the Bible that wisdom comes from God only. Guess what happens to wisdom - it goes out the window. . .

While I don’t disagree that an intact family is preferable to chaos, it should be pointed out that school shooters Kip Kinkel, Dylan Klebold, Eric Harris, Ethan Crumbley, Audrey Hale, Seung-Hui Cho and others came from intact family homes. Many highly successful and peaceful people come from homes with divorced parents. Broken families are not ideal but other factors may be more important in school shootings. Violent video games, social isolation, psychotherapy, anti-depressants and a culture which promotes narcissism may be even more important factors.

Most people grow up and leave their childhoods behind, once they have their own children. It is an imperative. Unfortunately, some never do. I’ve always said that if you are going to get married and have children, you better figure out how to make it work. There is no magic, other partner who is going to make your life happy.

Raising children today in America is probably a greater challenge in the past. Society, culture and social media are all working against parents. Having a child is easy. Just simple biology. Turning that child into a productive member of the community, against all the hideous influences, is the crap good parents must wade through.

#8 is correct although, sad to say, some are actually born with shaky mental health that we don't really understand yet and those other factors push them over the edge. Some come from good parentage yet go off the rails at some point...drugs, terrible life choices etc. I know a nice upper class family who have had two kids who turned out useless and one in criminal trouble all the time. They never killed anybody and most don't, but some are just wired wrong from birth. Sad, really. #4 is also correct. It doesn't work all the time but, raise them going to church, Sunday school etc. and at least they will be exposed to right and wrong.

I had a relatively normal upbringing for the time. We moved a lot but the whole family moved together (Except war zones. Dad did those alone). My siblings and I beat each other up a lot but everyone did back then. I cannot even imagine trying to grow up well adjusted with a nightmare like they describe. I sometimes think that you become an adult the day you overcome your childhood. What chance do these dysfunctional kids have?

My son went through a divorce, the Court appointed a lawyer to take the side of his child. I spoke to the lawyer and during a conversation she informed me that her daughter could speak to the dead. No Kidding. I left right after that, and knew she was as crazy as my ex daughter in law who was selling purple Aura's on the internet. My son got sole custody, but then the child reached 13 and decided it was unfair to her mother and wanted to move in with her. Nothing we could do after that. Fighting the child and the mother in court was only a waste of time and money. The child grew older and discovered her mother was garbage, but she still loves her, but spends most of her off time from the Air Force with my son. She is doing well, but she is a bit on the liberal side. The fault of the mother and her interracial marriage.

#4~ So true. A companion news account published yesterday in the UK Daily mail about Natalie Rupnow focused on what the author perceives as “disturbing lessons” of myths being taught at the Christian school dissenting what is written in Scripture: “The horror is far away from the school's promotion of pure Christianity, which sees it push an originalist view of the world on its students, including belief in the Old Testament myths such as the Garden of Eden.” The school’s “Statement of Faith” makes clear “its leaders push an originalist interpretation of the Bible on its students, including believing in the 'truth' of both the Old and New Testaments. “We believe that the Bible, consisting of sixty-six books of the Old and New Testaments, was given by the inspiration of God and is the inerrant Word of God in its original manuscripts,' the statement reads. 'We believe human beings were subjected to trial in the Garden of Eden, in order to test their loyalty to God. Under trial they lost their holy estate by voluntarily transgressing God’s positive command and yielding to the enticement of Satan, were alienated by God, and became depraved physically, mentally, morally, and spiritually.' ” https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-14202315/Abundant-life-school-shooting-Madison-religion-Natalie-Rupnow.html “Disturbing lessons Natalie Rupnow was taught at Wisconsin Christian school” Will Potter for dailymail.com - December 17, 2024

The truth can now be told. A month after the 2024 election, the left wing New York Times is finally admitting that there’s no way that Joe Biden could have handled the job of being president for another four years. Of course, this is the same paper that just six months ago was accusing people of using ‘cheap fakes’ to make Biden look older and more feeble than he actually is. This is something that the New York Times wrote in June of this year: President Biden has many adversaries in this year’s election. There are his Republican opponent, former President Donald J. Trump, and the independent candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr.

George Stephanopoulos was repeatedly told by his executive producer not to “use the word rape” before going on the air to discuss Donald Trump but the ABC News anchor ignored the warning — a decision that cost the network $16 million, The Post has learned. Parent company Disney’s capitulation last week in the defamation lawsuit by Trump against ABC News and Stephanopoulos shocked media and legal experts, but the damning revelation could help explain why Mouse House CEO Bob Iger signed off on the settlement so quickly. The “This Week” host uttered that Trump was “liable for rape” while discussing the civil lawsuit won by journalist E. Jean Carroll during an interview

George Stephanopoulos may be OUT at ABC News after CEO Bob Iger decided to pay out a $15 million defamation settlement, plus $1 million to cover Trump’s attorneys fees. Trump’s defamation case against ABC News was related to statements made by “This Week” host George Stephanopoulos. Trump sued ABC News earlier this year after Stephanopoulos claimed Trump was “found liable for rape” by a Manhattan jury in the E. Jean Carroll case. In 2019, E. Jean Carroll alleged Donald Trump raped her in a Bergdorf Goodman dressing room in the 1990s. Trump has denied the allegations and called E. Jean Carroll a “whack job”

President-elect Donald Trump’s most striking characteristics today are clarity, confidence, and calm. This is extraordinary in a man renowned for chaos, confusion, and the thin-skinned hurling of demeaning insults. But it is a truth that needs to be acknowledged and accounted for to understand what we are witnessing as Trump prepares to resume the presidency. His press conference at Mar-a-Lago on Dec. 16 revealed a man almost preternaturally at ease with himself, his mission, his domestic support, and his acceptance abroad. His tone was measured, even somewhat humble, despite some bragging. When he dismissed questions, as he justifiably did once or twice, it was not done angrily
