Let me begin with a phrase I never used to start a story in 45 years as a TV reporter: “I may be wrong.” This entire piece may be wrong, but those 45 years on the air and 2000+ hours as a pilot tell me I’m right. The MSM floods their newscasts with reports of drone-terrified citizens... [Snip] Not everyone closes their curtains...word got out that Mrs. Sushbaum in 7B puts on a great show every night. [Snip] Maybe it is Martians, Russians, Iranians, or Lord knows who. If it is, they sure traveled a long way to see Mrs. Sushbaum in her birthday suit.

Amen, brother.
Reprise of the Battle of Los Angeles, 1942....fortunately without firing off a bunch of anti-aircraft artillery shells, which DID come down somewhere.

A few weeks ago a conservative website included an article warning MAGA supporters there would be numerous varied, planned, strategized goings-on preceding the inauguration of President Trump on January 20, 2025 to alarm and distract American citizens and to be cautious and not easily succumb to such machinations. With that warning in mind, it may be prudent to consider the efforts to complicate President Trump’s first term in office, what happened with the 2020 presidential election, the massive effort to prevent his winning the 2024 presidential election and ensuing threats on his personal safety with the possibility that the “drones” may be one of the planned strategies to precede the inauguration.

I think the comment at #4 has some merit. Also
Douglas W. Johnson has an interesting but tongue-in-cheek post after the article concerning aliens monitoring democrat behavior.

After Halloween and as the terrifying Biden years wind down in fly the killer drones to petrify the citizenry. And then someone named Ed Sherdlu comes along with plausible explanations and ruins all the fun of fearing mullahs and Martians. Sigh. It’s back to Mr. Ballen for some scares.

Watch this:
"Newhart" Season 6, Episode 7: "Take Me to Your Loudon".
The people living in Bob's Vermont town believe that aliens are invading. Bob comes up with the same answer this author did. Took me about five seconds to find this on Google. Apparently, I am not the only one that remembers this episode. It's hysterical.
Yeah, boys. I always close my blinds at night.

Then why does the WH say they don't know what they are. Planes have always flown over that corridor so what happened differently now?
I'm open to suggestions.

Thank you Mr. Sherdlu. Excellent explanation of the phenomena that is inflicting panic on too many people. One of the worst hysterics is Sean Hannity, who for the past week has devoted extensive amounts of time railing against the Biden administration for pooh-poohing the existence of these sinister drones. They know something, he says, and they won't disclose it. I can't decide whether Hannity actually believes there is a legitimate story regarding these sightings or whether he is cynically amplifying the hysteria to halt his declining viewership.

Re #8.
Great lines:
"I saw lights in the sky on the way over here!"
"Where were they?"
"Over the airport!"
"And I heard loud truck-like noises, too!"
"Where?"
"Out by the highway"

$$$ Engagement; ratings; adsense clicks, etc. A form of entertainment. It's a money maker.
There is a "drone" problem, though. They are being used/abused in restricted areas for civil and strategic purposes. The users are ahead of the regulatory curve.

Perhaps UFOs are trending, so the media keeps hyping them.
The government doesn't know what they are? Surprise! The government doesn't know everything! Personally, I think that is a good thing.
Some thoughts:
- T'is the season. Any delivery companies using drones? Not to residences, but between distribution hubs.
- LE using surveillance drones in high crime areas. Cheaper than helicopters.
- Boys and toys.
Unless the Earth is about to be on the receiving end of an alien first contact (it's not), I really cannot get worked up over this.

So, they fly from here over to Germany over our military bases, and in England as well?

Good article. My first thought was wondering why spy drones wherever their source is why do they have their lights on? Seems like any hostile acts would require stealth and fly with no lights. I think the author is right. The drone flers are having fun now in other countries. If they really are aliens from somewhere in the Andromeda Galaxy, we are doomed by their superior techonlogy. However, I do agree with DJT and others to shoot a couple down and see if they came from Walmart or Amazon.

It has been suggested that Covid-19 was, aside from a “medicinal” purpose, an experiment to determine how easily it might be to control the populace by the numbers of people who would submit to taking the vaccine. According to the New York Times, “More than 5.55 billion people worldwide have received a dose of a Covid-19 vaccine, equal to about 72.3 percent of the world population.” Are the drones possibly another “experiment” to determine how easily the populace can be led to panic? An experiment to “influence” behavior? Perhaps they are experimental drones being tested by our own country’s government that is not to be acknowledged for national security reasons.

Couldn't this be similar to overflying another country's airspace for the purpose of checking their radar capabilities? What if the drones themselves are not the issue, but we're doing some testing to make sure that our DEFENSIVE capabilities would work as intended if they encountered a variety of attacks by drones or other types of aircraft?
This would explain why the government keeps saying the drones aren't dangerous, but they can't disclose what they're doing up there. It would also explain why drones have been seen over some US bases in foreign countries.

Look - with me, it's like this. If the government and media are involved, I am immediately skeptical.
And the louder they get, the less I believe. cf. COVID.

Re #18, always a voice of reason, I think you may be erring in the "shoot one down" idea by imagining that they aren't manned, civilian, harmless aircraft. Shoot one down and kill a family traveling in their own aircraft, or a pilot delivering freight, still done at night by small aircraft.
Assuming that because they are CALLED 'drones' that they ARE drones isn't at all a good bet. Shooting at unidentified air vehicles is likely to be just as sane as shooting at vehicle on the highway.

The author points out 95% of American air space is a free-flight zone and if Iran wants photos, they can charter a small four-seat Cessna and snap pictures; to save money, they could wait until most bases hold their annual open house and take photos, and even kids know flying near military bases “will get them the most attention.” Further, drones flying in formation at night is something that can be seen at the Super Bowl Show.
