A Very Disappointing Development Regarding
Joni Ernst

Sen. Joni Ernst (R-IA) isn’t sold on Pete Hegseth as secretary of defense. The Iowa Republican had her meeting with President-elect Donald J. Trump’s nominee, appreciated his service—Hegseth is a decorated combat veteran—and said they had a frank discussion about the confirmation process. Mr. Hegseth is the target of a Brett Kavanaugh-like smear campaign, where allegations of sexual misconduct and heavy drinking are bubbling up on the pages of the fake news press. Yet, Ernst doesn’t seem keen on voting for his nomination. Instead, there are rumors that she’s trying to derail him to get the job for herself. She also supports the transgender nonsense to continue in the military,

I cant think of anything likelier to demoralize our actual warriors, than a combat veteran derailed on grounds of some drinking which in fact is not debilitating, by a prissy woman who then gets the job. Ugh. Doesn't she see? Flattery is truly blinding.

She is making a choice that will end badly for her. The spotlight on her now is brutal. Her only choice to save her political career is to back down now. The GOPe is using her and will have no problem throwing her under the bus, when the time comes. And, the time will come. I was hoping she was smarter than that. The Deep State must really have some dirt on her.

Then she's not a Republican. Republicans deal with truth not fantasy. Truth isn't always pretty, but at the end of the day, it is what it is. If every transgender in the world, suddenly decided they were birds, could they fly? If they decided they were fish, could they breathe water. Their fantasy has real-world consequences that they are running from. The people pushing this narrative have different problems, that deal with a need to control. It's not going to end well for ANYONE involved. And the last thing you do, if you want a job, is to sabotage the one its being offered to. They might not get the job, but everyone will know and remember what you did. And no one will ever trust you, again.

Joni Ernst should be nowhere near the military with the transgender approval. The cost for transition is staggering and would not allow the military to purchase needed equipment such as personal gear, ammunition and new vehicles. The Navy would not be able to buy one new ship (a large on such as a carrier). There are persons better suited to the position.

There are a few calendar dates that are burned into the American psyche. Some endure for good and happy reasons. Everybody knows why we celebrate July 4 and December 25. Both are part of our national identity as a free nation, the freest on Earth, founded in the Judeo-Christian tradition. Others endure for tragic reasons. November 22 saw the assassination of a president and, days later, his alleged killer, much of it brought directly into our living rooms as the first (and only) such event during the television age. September 11 was a horrifying example of murder brought about by men who hated America simply for being America.

Some Democrats are so mad about Joe Biden pardoning his son Hunter that they are threatening to withhold funding for Biden’s presidential library. According to some reports, Biden and his inner circle have been caught surprised by the backlash to the pardon. They can’t seem to understand why this would make so many people angry. There will be more fallout from this in the coming months, especially because Biden has angered so many people on his own side. If he ends up issuing more pardons, which is fully expected, anger will only grow.

A combat veteran herself, she explained that while “I absolutely have interest in the military…”

Representative Jamie Raskin (D-MD) said Thursday on CNN’s “The Situation Room” that “we’re in the fight of our lives” against the incoming administration. Raskin said, “We’re in the fight of our lives, Wolf. There is an incoming administration which has vowed to turn the Department of Justice into an instrument of political revenge and retaliation and persecution of individual American citizens. We’ve got an incoming administration which doesn’t seem to care about any constitutional boundaries they’re threatening to impound funds that have been appropriated for particular purposes by Congress and use them for other purposes.
