Rep. Jerry Nadler (D-N.Y.) is ceding his position as top Democrat on the powerful Judiciary Committee amid a tough challenge from Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-Md.), — a stunning shift on a powerful committee that’s sure to play a considerable role in the oversight of the second Trump administration. In a letter to colleagues, Nadler said he’s endorsing Raskin for the spot. The move marks a stunning fall for Nadler, a fiery Manhattan liberal and 34 year veteran of Congress, who rose to the top of the Judiciary panel in 2017 and helped to guide the two impeachments of President Trump. I don’t remember the Senate rules. (Does the Majority Leader have a say in the minority committee assignments?) If so, why are either of these cretins, and their smaller brother, Adam, allowed on any committee of note.?

California’s fast food industry shed more than 6,000 jobs after Democratic lawmakers passed a bill mandating a $20 minimum wage for most fast food and counter service restaurants in the state, according to a new analysis of labor data. U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics data show that between September 2023, when California governor Gavin Newsom signed Assembly Bill 1228, and June 2024, Golden State fast food employment dropped from 570,909 jobs to 564,743. That’s a loss of 6,166 jobs, or 1.1 percent, according to an analysis by the nonprofit Employment Policies Institute.

Former Washington Post reporter Taylor Lorenz defended the gruesome execution of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson on Wednesday in a sick social media post suggesting other health care executives should face similar fates — as hundreds of more twisted trolls took to the internet to revel in the tragedy. “And people wonder why we want these executives dead,” Lorenz wrote on BlueSky, a microblogging social media network, alongside an article about how Blue Cross Blue Shield will no longer cover anesthesia for the full length of some surgeries. The tech reporter made the loathsome declaration just hours after Thompson, 50, was gunned

Acting Secret Service director Ronald Rowe erupted into a screaming match against Rep. Fallon lambasted Rowe for waiting days before visiting the Butler, Pa., site where Trump was nearly killed on July 13 — and then presented a photo showing the acting director near the now-president-elect instead of his detail during the Republican’s visit to New York to mark the anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks. “Who is usually at an event

My ears always perk up when I hear that a lifelong Democrat has thrown his or her support behind President-elect Donald Trump. One of the biggest surprises of the 2024 election cycle was the sheer number of people who did just that. Two key factors drove this shift. First, many working-class voters finally grasped that the Democratic Party, which they had blindly supported for decades, had abandoned them. The second factor concerned Democrats at the opposite end of the economic spectrum — a group that included tech billionaires, hedge fund managers, and the ultrawealthy, many with direct access to the Biden White House. They saw that the line

Attorneys for President-elect Donald Trump Wednesday asked a Georgia appeals court to dismiss the Fulton County racketeering case against him because a "sitting president is completely immune from indictment or any criminal process, state or federal." In papers filed with the Georgia Court of Appeals, Trump's attorneys argued the 2020 election interference charges against him should be tossed due to "the unconstitutionality of his continued indictment and prosecution by the State of Georgia" now that "he is President-Elect and will soon become the 47th President of the United States." The case has been stalled for most of the year as Trump's lawyers have challenged a ruling that denied their request to disqualify

Supreme Court justice Samuel Alito tore into solicitor general Elizabeth Prelogar for arguing Wednesday that transgender procedures often result in better outcomes, a claim that fails to take into consideration a growing collection of evidence to the contrary. The justices heard oral arguments Wednesday in United States v. Skrmetti, a case about whether Tennessee’s law banning transgender operations and hormone treatments for minors is Constitutional under the Equal Protection Clause of the 14th Amendment. Alito quoted Prelogar’s petition to the Court claiming “overwhelming evidence” supports the notion that puberty blockers and hormone treatments improve the well-being of unwell adolescents confused about their gender.

Aides of President Joe Biden are debating whether the outgoing Democratic president should issue preemptive pardons for figures President-elect Donald Trump has named as his political enemies. Politico reported Wednesday that among those being discussed for blanket pardons are former GOP Rep. Liz Cheney, Sen.-elect Adam Schiff and Dr. Anthony Fauci. Biden - who has been busy dealing with the fallout from his decision to pardon his son Hunter over gun and tax crimes - hasn't been brought into the discussions yet, the outlet said. White House officials fear that doling out pardons to people who haven't been charged with a crime could suggest impropriety.

On Wednesday, the Supreme Court heard arguments in U.S. v. At the heart of the case is a Tennessee law banning these procedures for children, with the court’s decision likely to have far-reaching consequences. Will our country protect children from these barbaric and irreversible procedures or not? As I previously reported, Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson humiliated herself when she bizarrely tried to equate banning transgender procedures for minors with prohibiting interracial marriage. Mr. Hegseth is the target of a Brett Kavanaugh-like smear campaign, where allegations of sexual misconduct and heavy drinking are bubbling up on the pages of the fake news press. Yet, Ernst doesn’t seem keen on voting for his nomination. Instead, there are rumors that she’s trying to derail him to get the job for herself. His PR team deliberately positioned it this way, of course. They had to: Hunter Biden isn’t a sympathetic character.

As The Gateway Pundit reported, Romney announced last year that he wouldn’t seek reelection following two failed Presidential campaigns and one term in the Senate. This is the best thing Romney, 77, has done in his 30-year political career since his first failed run for Senate in 1994. In his address, the career politician trashed those “who would tear at our unity” and “replace love with hate,” likely aimed at President Trump.
