Are Dems Out Of Options To Stop Trump? replies

Two impeachments, 88 felony counts (with guilty verdicts on 34 of them), a massive fine, two assassination attempts, unrelentingly hostile media coverage, a last-minute candidate switcheroo, and Donald Trump is still showing signs that he will win the election in two weeks. So, what do Democrats still have up their sleeve to stop Trump? They must have something. Back in May, we asked what the Democrats’ Plan B was if their lawfare campaign against Trump failed, and offered five options – four of which have come to pass. Here is what we said then.

A Pennsylvania mother who was served by former President Donald Trump during his stint at a McDonald’s drive-thru after his rally on Sunday shared the request she made of the former president. Trump stopped by the Feasterville-Trevose fast food joint to serve up helpings of french fries to unsuspecting drive-thru customers. Nayara Andrejczyk, a mother whose encounter with the former president went viral online, seized the opportunity to ask Trump for just one favor.

~Back in the summer, in the immediate aftermath of the slaughter of three little girls in the English town of Southport, I wrote: Starmer is not, as has been suggested, simply 'tone-deaf'. He is seizing his opportunity, as Washington did on J6 and Justin did with the Canadian truckers. You know how that worked out for law-abiding grannies on their first trip to America's capital, or for prairie donors who'd dropped fifty bucks via credit card on the Ottawa convoy. And you know how muted public protest about anything has been in either country since. Yeah. Frozen bank accounts and solitary confinement will do that to you.

A bipartisan group of legislators in New York City is demanding that embattled Mayor Eric Adams launch an effort to remove gang members from the city’s migrant shelters “as a matter of urgent public safety.” Council Minority Leader Joe Borelli (R-Staten Island) published a letter Thursday to the mayor, co-signed by five Republicans and four Democrats citing the growing influence of the Venezuelan street gang Tren de Argua.“It has become evident that foreign-based criminal organizations like Tren de Aragua have been using taxpayer-funded shelters across the city as a base for their illicit activities, which include organized theft, robbery, assaults, sex trafficking, and in some cases, murder,”

There is a compelling reason that the Supreme Court has regularly ruled that falsehoods are protected speech. The Court openly recognizes that falsehoods can be harmful and may sometimes be quite harmful, but the Court also recognizes that efforts to determine which information is true and which is false are far more harmful to our democracy. The line between whether content can be labeled true or false, or whether it is simply viewpoint disagreement can be blurry and very much in the eye of the beholder. This is especially true of political content and policy debates. This is also the fundamental premise of the First Amendment, which protects free speech

You may be wondering why Kamala Harris is campaigning with Liz Cheney. Who exactly is she trying to appeal to here? It makes no sense. Until you consider the fact that Democrats and her campaign might be worried that she needs votes from never-Trumpers and disaffected Republicans to make up for the votes she is losing within her own party. Suddenly, it all comes into focus. From the Washington Examiner: Harris hunts for GOP votes as Democrats fear her base support is eroding

Democratic strategist James Carville said Monday on MSNBC’s “The Beat” that he and host Ari Melber will be arrested if former President Donald Trump wins the election. Carville said, “Trump goes out, and he says I’m going to use the military to arrest my political enemies, and then Mike Johnson’s and Lindsey Graham, and the Wall Street Journal editorial pages say oh no, that’s not what he meant and then he comes back and says yeah, that’s exactly what I meant. You know what’ll happen? You pointed it out; if he wins, he will say, I told people I was going to do this. I have the legitimacy of an election

Israel Defense Forces (IDF) Brigadier General Amir Avivi (Res.) told ABC News on Monday that Israel’s impending retaliatory strike on Iran will be “fierce” and will lead to an intensified war that will last “many months.” Avivi, a conservative think tank, the Israel Defense and Security Forum (IDSF), told Breitbart News in early September that an Israeli attack on Hezbollah in Lebanon was “imminent” — and it took place within days. ABC News reported: Israel’s planned attack on Iran will mark the “beginning of a war” that will last “many months,” retired Israel Defense Forces Brig. Gen. Amir Avivi told ABC News. Israel’s war with Hezbollah had gone incredibly well

Former President Donald Trump on Monday landed in western North Carolina to survey the damage from Hurricane Helene, meet survivors, and thank volunteers who have been working to save lives. Five states were affected by Hurricane Helene — Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, and Tennessee. However, North Carolina was hardest hit. Hurricane Helene was the deadliest hurricane to hit the continental United States since Hurricane Katrina in 2005, with more than 300 deaths confirmed so far, and many still missing.
Dem Voters Show Signs of Anointer's Remorse replies

Issues & Insights' Terry Jones calls this "buyer's remorse," but that doesn't fit. Literally no one bought Kamala Harris as the Democrat presidential nominee -- by design. Democrats never gave their voters a choice other than Joe Biden in the primaries, and then threw out 50 state contests to anoint Harris as the nominee once the cover-up of Biden's cognitive decline got exposed. Small wonder, then, that over a third of Democrats in the new I&I/TIPP poll don't feel much "joy" over Harris as their candidate. And even more of them believe they got stuck with a weaker candidate than Democrats could have fielded:

Vice President Kamala Harris is campaigning for president against Elon Musk at least as much as she is against former President Donald Trump, Mark Cuban said Monday, as he advocated for the Democratic nominee as the pro-business choice. “It’s the Harris campaign versus Elon, not even versus Trump,” the billionaire investor and former “Shark Tank” host said on CNBC’s “Squawk Box.” Cuban took a swipe at the Tesla and SpaceX CEO over Musk’s promise to give $1 million per day to the winner of a swing-state voter sweepstakes, calling it “innovative” and “desperate.” But Cuban later predicted that if Harris wins, she “100%” could mend her relationship with Musk.
The One Rule to Getting a Miracle replies

Do you believe in miracles? Throughout history, inexplicable events have occurred yet naysayers refuse to name them miracles preferring to call them a lucky coincidence. In 1980, however, when the young USA team won the Olympic winter game against the behemoth Russian team and then went on to win the gold, it was called, "the miracle on ice". The following year, a movie by that name debuted and another one opened in 2004 about the same "miracle. I wouldn't call this event a miracle which was the result of hard work but I'll bet some of the players followed the rule of getting a ‘miracle'. What was it, you may ask?

McDonald's has finally revealed why it does not have records to verify Vice President Kamala Harris' claim that she worked at one of its restaurants in the 1980s. In a memo emailed to McDonald's USA franchisees the corporation confirmed that while Harris had 'fond memories' of working at a location in Alameda County, 'we and our franchisees don't have records for all positions dating back to the early '80s.' A copy of the internal letter was posted by an anonymous McDonald's franchise on social media and confirmed by the Wall Street Journal.
