Another day, another batch of news coming from the people that demonstrates just how much the government has failed the people, especially the victims of Hurricane Helene.
Amid the heartbreak and loss, we've been learning that FEMA has completely used up its budget to the point where there's little to no funds for disaster relief, reportedly because much of the budget was used up helping illegals at the border.
This isn't exactly common knowledge because the media isn't being forthcoming with this information. In fact, every time I mention this on various accounts,
Kamala Harris visited Flint, Michigan, to talk to labor union members.
As we reported, she's been losing a lot of union support, so she has to shore up usually reliable supporters. The latest news was from the International Association of Fire Fighters (IAFF) , which said that it would not be endorsing a presidential candidate for 2024. The last time they did that was when they also didn't endorse Hillary Clinton in 2016. That was a big message to Kamala Harris, just one of the many messages from unions this year. She's losing a lot of support from union members who now support former President Donald Trump.

We are hearing more and more about the devastation wrought by last weekend's Hurricane Helene, and how our fellow Americans in Western North Carolina, Eastern Tennessee, and Eastern Georgia have been adversely affected. Towns completely destroyed, too many lives lost, and way too much government incompetence and malfeasance.
But we are also hearing about the good: neighbors helping neighbors, brave heroes in private aircraft reaching remote areas with means of communication, supplies, food, water, and hope. This week's Feel-Good Friday offering is a Helene hero story of a different variety, but it is still one for the books.

New polling numbers out of the states of Ohio and Wisconsin are very good news for Mitch McConnell and very bad news for Chuck Schumer. Panic seems to be setting in for Democrats as they see their chances of retaining control of the Senate slip from their grasp.
In Ohio, Democrat incumbent Sherrod Brown is consistently polling behind his Republican rival, Bernie Moreno. RedState reported last week on polling from RMG Research that showed Moreno ahead of Brown by a 48 percent to 46 percent margin. New polling out from ActiVote confirms Moreno's lead, with the new data having Moreno sitting at 51.1 percent while Brown is at 48.9 percent.

U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas' words have come back to haunt him as video from earlier this year touting the Federal Emergency Management Agency's (FEMA’s) preparedness before Hurricane Helene exposed shortcomings in the organization. Mayorkas this week warned that FEMA was running out of funds as hurricane season continued to slam the southeastern United States. The organization has enough funds to deal with the aftermath of Helene but would not have enough to "make it through the season."
This warning stands in stark contrast to previous comments Mayorkas made in the summer assuring that FEMA would be able to handle upcoming weather crises.

President Biden appeared confused Thursday evening when asked what he thought states impacted by Hurricane Helene needed after he spent the day touring parts of Florida and Georgia that were battered by the Category 4 storm.

The dockworkers' union has agreed to return to work after the White House intervened and strong-armed the U.S. Maritime Alliance, representing shipping companies, to give the union what they wanted regarding wages.
The dockworkers will return to work immediately under the old contract and the two sides will have until January 15 to hammer out the outstanding issues.
Why Biden didn't intervene to prevent the strike is clear. He wanted the International Longshoreman Union (ILA) to demonstrate its muscle and willingness to shut down the U.S. economy to get what it wanted.

The devastation Hurricane Helene has wrought on much of Appalachia—and Western North Carolina in particular—presents an unfortunate occasion to examine what the U.S. military is doing to secure the American way of life.
Unfortunately, the military’s dismal response so far shows that they are unwilling to provide for the American people at a time of dire need.
Days after Hurricane Helene, the Biden-Harris Administration finally activated up to 1,000 soldiers to support the delivery of food, water, and medicine to isolated communities. But these efforts are too little, too late.

Because Joe Biden delivered a doozy of an answer that makes one wonder if he even knows that communities in the south are reeling from the second deadliest hurricane ever to hit the United States. After surveying the damage, Biden said those in the storm zone, a phrase that bewildered him for a second, are “very happy” and are getting everything they need.
Democrats and the Kamala Harris campaign have been quick to brag about the endorsements she has received from people like Liz and Dick Cheney, as well as former members of the Bush administration.
Trump has gotten a much more important endorsement this week.

The International Association of Firefighters (IAFF) has snubbed the Harris-Walz ticket with a non-endorsement — news which comes after Sen. JD Vance (R-OH) spoke at their event in August.
IAFF President Edward Kelly made the announcement on Thursday following an executive board meeting, where the determination was made.“Today, the IAFF Executive Board, by a margin of 1.2 percent, voted to not endorse a candidate in the 2024 presidential election,” he announced, noting that IAFF took “unprecedented steps to hear out members’ views on the candidates and the policy issues that matter most to them” over the last year.
The Maryland Department of State Police (MDSP) has committed to shell out more than $2 million in back pay to black and female applicants who could not pass state trooper tests as part of a settlement agreement with the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ). (snip) MDSP requires that state trooper candidates successfully complete both written and physical tests, which the DOJ alleged “discriminate” against the black and female candidates who could not pass them.
MDSP’s Functional Fitness Assessment Test (FFAT) required female applicants to do “push-ups, sit-ups, a seated reach, a trigger pull, and a one-and-a-half mile run,” according to the complaint.

The Trafalgar Group released a poll on Wednesday showing Trump has increased his lead in the vital swing states of Michigan and Wisconsin.
The recent poll shows Trump beating Harris by 2.2 points in Michigan, with Trump scoring 47.5% of the votes to Harris's 45.3%. On August 31, the Trafalgar Group had Trump beating Harris 47% to 46.6%, a lead of only 0.4%.
Trump is winning in Wisconsin as well, topping the Kackler by 47.1% to 46%. The poll had Trump at 47.3% to Harris's 46.2%.

A defensive President Biden on Thursday disputed criticism that his administration was caught off-guard by Hurricane Helene, insisting that he had a plan in place even before the deadly storm made landfall.
“Days before the storm hit, I pre-positioned extensive resources on the ground throughout the Southeast, extensively — first responders, search and rescue teams, food, water, ambulances — before Helene made landfall,” Mr. Biden said after touring the damage in Ray City, Georgia.
He said he approved disaster relief funding before the storm hit, unlocking federal aid for the states impacted by the storm, which includes Georgia, Florida, South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia and West Virginia.
