Forgotten America in Crisis

Original Article

The devastation Hurricane Helene has wrought on much of Appalachia—and Western North Carolina in particular—presents an unfortunate occasion to examine what the U.S. military is doing to secure the American way of life. Unfortunately, the military’s dismal response so far shows that they are unwilling to provide for the American people at a time of dire need. Days after Hurricane Helene, the Biden-Harris Administration finally activated up to 1,000 soldiers to support the delivery of food, water, and medicine to isolated communities. But these efforts are too little, too late.

I saw Judge Jeanine yesterday on The Five. She almost had a heart attack on air, describing the callousness of the Fed response to this. (And for the love of Pete and Gladys, can someone else hire Jessica Tarlov?) This article will simultaneously make you weep and explode. Joseph Robinette Biden is not only the worst president in our history. He is the basest and most vile and amoral.

I am seeing stories about local and federal authorities threatening to arrest private citizens delivering relief supplies on their own. If true, I predict some of those officials will be found when the waters recede. And rightfully so.

Don't blame the military. They do what they are told by the pampered princes in the Pentagon and the mush brains in Washington. FEMA and the Red Cross are pathetic and useless in this real emergency. Mayorkas deserves the Mussolini treatment for his treason and brain dead Biden should have been pushed out years ago.

This event shows the uselessness of government aid. Churches and other local groups can get needed supplies and manpower quicker, cheaper, and without red tape. Yet like the COVID fiasco, the Feds want to stifle any true help. Damn them all.

When a week after the storm there are reports that a fleet of private helicopters are carrying supplies to people who are stranded and carrying people out, and that most of the supplies being handed out are from private citizens and organizations, then something isn't right. This type of situation is exactly what the national guard is for. Yet in all of the reports I've seen, I've seen one military helicopter flying in supplies, and dozens of private helicopters doing the same. The private organizations even have fuel trucks positioned to refuel the copters and stock them with supplies. They have an entire building set up to receive and distribute items for people as well as temporary housing. One needs to ask, Where's the national guard? Where's the military to help out?

It appears so many people on this thread are like the writer Will Thibeau - thehy don't have a cliue about the military. The military can do nothing until the Biden Administration activates them. It is the Biden Administration that had done nothing to activate them and apparently is impeding civilians who are trying to help. The military organizations mentioned in the article can do nothing until the demented perv Biden or his incompetent sidekick Harris order them to. While the military has its faults, this is not one of them. Put the blame where it belongs Biden/Harris

American military forces are not self-activating, and it would be dangerous if they were. The author seems ignorant of this fact, even if his heart is in the right place. There is a legal principle, "Respondeat Superior", let the superior answer. In ordinary speech, a fish rots from the head. It is Biden's fault that our military forces have not been fully engaged to help our own citizens in the wake of Helene.

You only need to go back to the Gulf oil spill and Obama's failure to attack the problem immediately. Delay, delay, delay and why you may ask. North Carolina suffering from a failure of Biden to attack the problem immediately. Delay, delay, delay and why you may ask. Well, the answer is simple! People of the Gulf coast did not vote for Obama and he made them pay through inaction. People of western North Carolina voted Trump last election and Obama through his surrogates are making the suffer. The plan is to keep them from voting in upcoming election and to punish them just like they did on the Gulf. This is nasty business and people are being hurt with malice aforethought. IMO, if we do not get this group of communists out of the government you can bet there will be more pain and suffering for the people of this country.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu slammed French President Emmanuel Macron and other Western leaders on Saturday who he said had called for an arms embargo on Israel over its airstrikes against Hamas in Gaza. "As Israel fights the forces of barbarism led by Iran, all civilized countries should be standing firmly by Israel’s side, yet President Macron and other western leaders are now calling for arms embargoes against Israel. Dead heat gets even hotter for Harris 7 replies

A dead heat is getting even hotter for Kamala Harris. To see it, you can look at the slightly tightening polls; to appreciate you must look inside them. However, to fully understand it, you must look at what Harris did last week: she visited the southern border, she gave an economic speech and she held another softball interview. For a campaign centered on not saying anything, Harris’ playing to her weaknesses says a lot. The polls say the race is tightening slightly. According to RealClearPolitics’ Sept. 29 average of national polling in a two-way race, Harris leads Trump 49.1 percent to 47.1 percent.

When describing the Biden-Harris administration’s policy of allowing millions of illegal border crossers to stay in the United States, it’s absolutely critical to use the word “unvetted.” What government official would let so many people who entered the country illegally remain in the U.S. without even knowing who they are? That would be crazy. And yet that is exactly what the Biden-Harris administration has done for nearly four years. And by the way, administration officials don’t want you to know how often they have done it.

Ohio Sen. JD Vance, as anticipated, easily won the vice-presidential debate Tuesday, October 1, on demeanor, facts, and analysis. But in fairness to a sometimes herky-jerky and nervous Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, he had the harder task of defending the temporary pseudo-conservative make-over of Democratic presidential nominee Vice President Kamala Harris. His additional burdens were her co-culpability for the last three-and-a-half-years of the Biden disaster, and her unwillingness to implement her supposedly "change" agenda in the last months of her vice-presidential tenure. The CBS News moderators, Nora O’Donnell, and, especially, Margaret Brennan, also as expected, ganged up on Vance.

Tim Walz has a problem misspeaking. Since being tapped as Kamala Harris’ running mate, the folksy, plain-speaking Minnesota governor has had to explain a growing number of inaccurate statements — and at times embellishments — about his past. They range from comments about his military service to his visit to Hong Kong more than three decades ago to clarifying that his family didn’t specifically use in vitro fertilization. It’s unclear whether Walz’s verbal errors will undercut his credibility with voters. But the need to continually clean up those claims could politically hurt Walz and Harris, who are locked in a tight race with Donald Trump and JD Vance.

U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas' words have come back to haunt him as video from earlier this year touting the Federal Emergency Management Agency's (FEMA’s) preparedness before Hurricane Helene exposed shortcomings in the organization. Mayorkas this week warned that FEMA was running out of funds as hurricane season continued to slam the southeastern United States. The organization has enough funds to deal with the aftermath of Helene but would not have enough to "make it through the season." This warning stands in stark contrast to previous comments Mayorkas made in the summer assuring that FEMA would be able to handle upcoming weather crises.

When Joe Biden became president, the Middle East was calm. Now it is in the midst of a multifront war. So quiet was the inheritance from the prior Trump administration that nearly three years later, on September 29, 2023 -- and just eight days before the October 7 Hamas massacre of Israelis -- Biden's national security advisor Jack Sullivan could still brag that "The Middle East region is quieter today than it has been in two decades." So, what exactly happened to the inherited calm that led to the current nonstop chaos of the present?

If Donald Trump wins this election, the postmortems on Kamala Harris’ campaign should put her choice of Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz as her running mate at the top of her list of mistakes. Much of America got to know Walz for the first time during Tuesday’s vice-presidential debate. Unlike his appearance at the Democratic National Convention, the Walz we saw on the debate stage didn’t have his words written for him in a teleprompter. And the unfiltered version underscored a very obvious fact about the governor: He is patently fake. For starters, how about this “Coach Walz” nonsense, which he broached yet again on Tuesday.
