Police found explosives in car on Long Island on Wednesday near former President Donald Trump’s rally scheduled for Wednesday evening, according to a report.
One America News Network journalist James Lalino posted on X: Sources in the Nassau County Police Department just told me that “the perimeter was breached and a blue barrel was removed” from the area surrounding tonight’s Trump rally site.
Source said “During K9, doing their checks, they found an explosive device in one of the vehicles and that driver ended up running into the woods. No one saw if he had anything on him,

You always hear it after a bear or lion eats a person – they say they have to kill the animal because it now has a taste for humans and won’t stop. This always struck me as odd, even funny, as though we humans are so delicious that one taste of us is so euphoric that they couldn’t possibly go back to salmon, elk or whatever.
That is, of course, not really the reason the animals have changed, the story goes. It’s that the fear of humans – their desire to avoid us because we’re strange to them – is gone, and now they will associate us with food.

The New York Fire Department’s new chief’s ties to China are coming to light against the backdrop of a federal investigation into foreign influence on the city’s officials.
FDNY Commissioner Robert Tucker was previously head of a private security firm where one of the clients was a billionaire who once admitted to feds he worked for Chinese intelligence, according to reports.
While in that role, Tucker also approved an email putting forward ex-golf club hospitality worker Lin Gui’an for a top position in the New York Police Department, which he eventually got. Lin’s links to the Chinese Communist Party were exposed by The Post last week.

The California chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) is objecting to a proposal by the L.A. City Council to bar anti-Israel protesters from the entrances to synagogues.
The proposal is a response to a rise in antisemitism in the city associated with anti-Israel protests, especially several incidents in June in which pro-Palestinian activists targeted local synagogues, obstructing entrances in one case.
City Council members Katy Yaroslavsky and Bob Blumenfield demanded action in June, calling for more resources for safety. They are the authors of the new proposal, which would require an eight-foot “bubble zone” around synagogues and other religious institutions.

More than 300 non-citizens in Oregon eligible to apply for driver’s licenses were also mistakenly registered to vote, officials admitted this week in what they chalked up to be a “data entry issue.”
In an initial analysis, the Oregon Department of Transportation found that 306 non-citizens statewide were registered to vote and two have cast ballots in elections since 2021, according to reports.
It is illegal for for a non-citizen to cast a ballot in a federal election. Officials expect to find more instances of the error as they continue to investigate, DMV Administrator Amy Joyce told The Oregonian on Friday.
“It’s basically a data entry issue,” said Kevin Glenn, spokesperson

The Democrats are always prattling on about the supposed “threat to democracy” that Donald Trump and the GOP pose, yet time after time, it’s they themselves who are constantly undermining the Constitution with their attacks on the Supreme Court and their attempts to "reform it," their endless assaults on free speech, and, of course, their stated goal to nuke the electoral college.
Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-MD), who disgraced himself by spitting on the Constitution by serving as the lead House manager in Trump’s second silly impeachment trial, is the latest Dem to deliver unhinged remarks on this

Vice President Kamala Harris, during her second interview on Friday since joining the race, undermined her record in the Biden-Harris administration by stating the administration’s policies are not fit for the “twenty-first century.”
Harris faces a conundrum: She cannot campaign on policies to fix crime, inflation, and border security without undermining the Biden-Harris administration’s policies, but she must tout the administration’s policies to validate her record and candidacy.
Speaking with Brian Taff of Philadelphia’s Action News 6 ABC, as the Harris campaign promised she would Thursday after she was slammed for failing to answer questions during Tuesday’s debate, Harris suggested she has a fresh “approach” with “new ideas” for the “current moment.”

NASA has shared a poignant letter from the only American not on Earth when 9/11 happened.
Space Station astronaut Frank Culbertson penned his thoughts in the hours and days after the terrorist attack on New York’s Twin Towers.
He also captured the scene on camera from 250 miles up, with a chilling image showing a smoke plume rising from the Manhattan area.
NASA astronaut Frank Culbertson was in the International Space Station during the 9/11 terror attacks.
The space agency said on Tuesday: “The following is the text of a letter from Expedition Three Commander Frank L. Culbertson (Captain, USN Retired), reflecting on the events of September 11.”

A top aide to embattled New York Police Department Commissioner Edward Caban is associated with shadowy groups that do the bidding of the Chinese Communist Party, The Post has learned.
Lin Gui’an, 49, the assistant director of the Police Commissioner Liaison Unit, was previously vice chairman of a nonprofit linked to a web of CCP-controlled community groups and school associations, known as United Front, for 12 years, according to records viewed by The Post.
He has also been pictured attending events alongside prominent members of United Front groups or sponsored by them.

Here’s a truth: it’s been hot in Southern California this month. Very hot.
Here’s another truth: it’s always hot in Southern California in September. This heat wave may be bigger than some, but it’s not unexpected or a stunning surprise.
But if you went to catch a show featuring “Vance Joy, Grouplove and Tiny Habit” Sunday night (admittedly I have no idea who those acts are), you were disappointed—because the legendary Hollywood Bowl went dark due to a power outage. The Bowl has hosted numerous iconic musical acts over the decades, including most famously, the Beatles in 1964.

The Democrat convention featured a full set of the party's presidents, save for Jimmy Carter, who turns one hundred next month. But, otherwise, there were present not only both Obamas but both Clintons, and even both Bidens, even though almost every one in that sextet loathes the other five, and certainly all six despise Kamala. But they're Democrats first, so they suck it up.
How's it going over on the Republican side? Well, former president George W Bush has announced he won't be endorsing anyone in this election. On the other hand, over two hundred Bush, McCain and Romney staffers have declared they're voting for Kamala.

I have resisted saying too much about the two astronauts whose eight-day mission to the International Space Station in June has turned, perforce, into an eight-month stay, lasting (at least) until February next year. Mainly because its awful symbolism is too pathetic, in both the archaic and contemporary senses. There has been remarkably little high-level official reaction - to the point that Kamala is so oblivious to whatever's going on up there that her campaign slogan is "We're not going back." Yeah, tell it to Suni and Butch. The US used to be both sunny and butch - and the Vice President certainly has no plans to "go back"
