Vice-president Kamala Harris has signalled her openness to the idea of reparations for black people, saying she would not rule out executive action if she wins the White House in November.
Speaking to the National Association of Black Journalists on Tuesday, Harris was asked about her position on the issue, which is typically confined to Black Lives Matter activists and far-left radicals.
“Do you have a position on whether that [reparations] should happen — this [reparations] commission should happen through executive order or via Congress?” she was asked by Politico’s Eugene Daniels.
Harris responded:
I think Congress ultimately will have the ability to do this work.

Racist money grubbing.
Taking money from people who never owned a slave to give to people who never were a slave, and never even met any slave. Government theft.
Pure evil.

I couldn't vote until 100 years ago. My voice was unheard, my causes ignored. Where's my apology and how much do I get? And sure, let's give Kamala her #1.5 million for reparations but make the payout conditioned upon all former slave owners explain themselves and personally apologize to each one of us before being pilloried and mocked in a public square to showcase their crazy thinking.

Will we be compensated for all the welfare transfer payment reparations paid over the last 100 years. I think we are in a huge deficit position, even after any slavery reparations.

Hussein the Horrible is half black and half white. Is his white half going to pay his black half. Pay him/her for what. His black half had no ancestors that were slaves. No legal case. And how would Giggles pay for it.

She's being forced to answer their questions. That means she's doing poorly with a normally reliable constituent group. I guess the dems do need black men. Didn't freed slaves get 20 acres and a mule? Or did democrats deny them that too?

How about reparations to taxpayers for the trillions of dollars spent to prop up a welfare state that has encouraged generational dependence on money from those pulling the wagon, not those riding in it. Unfortunately those receiving this largesse have been ill served by those purporting to care about their circumstances. Keeping them dependent while leaving them in failing schools with high crime rates and deplorable living conditions in the big blue cities. It is a soul sucking existence that the left is more than happy to perpetuate as long as they vote the correct way.

Kamala is open to anything and anybody that can get her elected to the highest rung of the Peter Principle. Congress needs to fix that Executive Order loophole that has been illegally abused since day one of the Kenyan Lightbringer. It was created as a serious emergency measure but is now just an easy way to circumvent the will of the people. In the hands of Biden and Harris, it has become a very dangerous tool.

Yes, it was 40 acres and a mule but most of them immediately sold it to buy whiskey and a banjo.

I thought congress controlled the purse strings. Where is this money supposed to come from?
What about recent black arrivals? What about mixed race people? Where does this madness end? Will this race issue never die? I know the left likes to bludgeon the right with it, but the democrats were the oppressors, and historically, the Republicans were the liberators. Why the Republicans don't emphasize this is a head scratcher.

They're losing black votes. Whether this will keep those who have left the plantation is questionable.

The Original Poster stated it well, I'll just add a bit.
KommieKammie's grandfather was a slave owner and slave trader in Jamaica. (not the side of the family that came from India, the other side.)
Someone should ask her. As the descendent of a slave trader, how much does Kammie get to 'contribute' to the Reparations?
