Anthony Fauci was hospitalized after being infected with the potentially deadly West Nile Virus.
Fauci, the former longtime director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, is now back at home getting treatment.
Fauci, 83, who served on the White House Coronavirus Task Force, is expected to make a full recovery, a spokesperson told CNN.
The West Nile virus is the most common mosquito-spread disease in the continental US, with a median of over 2,200 cases being reported every year, according to the Department of Health and Human Services.

Members of Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s extended family called it a “betrayal of the values that our father and our family hold most dear” on Friday after the independent presidential candidate announced that he was endorsing former President Trump.
“We want an America filled with hope and bound together by a shared vision of a brighter future,” Kerry Kennedy wrote in a statement alongside four of Kennedy’s siblings. “We believe in Harris and Walz. Our brother Bobby’s decision to endorse Trump today is a betrayal of the values that our father and our family hold most dear.”
“It is a sad ending to a sad story,” they added.

Like a pack of attack dogs, Hollywood celebrities turned their attention to Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., on Friday after he endorsed former President Donald Trump and blasted the Democratic party for having rigged its own primaries and undemocratically installed Kamala Harris as its nominee.
Stars including George Takei, Jeffrey Wright, Chris Meloni, Sandra Bernhard, and The West Wing‘s Bradley Whitford unleashed a torrent of vicious verbal attacks on Kennedy for having dared to cross the aisle to form an alliance with Trump.
“What a sad, broken, human being @RobertKennedyJr is,” Whitford declared.
“A broken deeply disturbed person,” Bernhard wrote.
“RFK Jr. and Donald Trump. A sorrier pair could hardly be imagined,” Takei concluded.

Another attack on a music festival, this time in Germany. No one is using the T-word yet but some reports say this was a random attack using a knife. The attacker is still at large. This is a Google translated version of the story from Bild, the German news site which broke the news. They are reporting three people have died. Also a possible description which has not been confirmed by authorities:
At around 9.45 p.m. a man in Solingen randomly stabbed passers-by with a knife. The perpetrator, according to witnesses an Arab-looking man, is on the run.
According to initial information, there are three dead and four seriously injured. Dozens

Kamala Harris’s husband Doug Emhoff is a “progressive sex symbol,” according to The Washington Post.
The Post has long had a reputation as one of the Democratic Party’s most influential media propagandists. Yet this latest headline on its website takes that impression to the next level.
According to opinion writer Catherine Rampell, Emhoff has earned the title of “progressive sexy symbol” because he is “secure enough with his own masculinity to sometimes prioritize his wife’s ambitions over his own.”

Another ‘coincidental’ Secret Service failure that led to the attempted assassination of President Trump.
The Secret Service never picked up radios that were set aside for them by local law Butler County law enforcement at Trump’s rally on July 13.
Would-be assassin Thomas Crooks was able to climb on top of a roof next to Trump’s Butler, Pennsylvania rally and put Trump in his scope.
A bullet grazed President Trump’s ear during his Pennsylvania rally. One rallygoer was fatally struck in the head. Two other rally attendees were wounded, one critically.
Bodycam footage shows a Butler Township police officer flipping out after his warnings about Crooks on the roof over the radio went ignored.

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. gave an epic speech on Friday, during which he suspended his campaign and endorsed Donald Trump.
And he destroyed the Democratic Party at the same time.
"I attended my first Democratic convention at the age of 6 in 1960, and back then, the Democrats were the champions of the Constitution, of civil rights," Kennedy said. "The Democrats stood against authoritarianism, against censorship, against colonialism, imperialism, and unjust wars. We were the party of labor, of the working class. (Snip) But the family at large really outdid themselves on Friday after Robert endorsed Trump, releasing a really nasty statement.

A Kansas judge has dismissed federal machine gun possession charges, including for having a "Glock switch," citing the Second Amendment and recent U.S. Supreme Court rulings in gun rights cases.
U.S. District Judge John Broomes on Wednesday dismissed two counts of unlawful possession of a machine gun against Tamori Morgan. Morgan had been indicted by a grand jury in April 2023 in U.S. District Court in Wichita.
Broomes wrote that the prosecution "fails to meet its burden to demonstrate that possession of the types of weapons at issue in this case are lawfully prohibited under the Second Amendment."

Last week in this space the focus was on Time magazine’s glorification of now Democrat presidential nominee Vice President Kamala Harris.
The point was that the then-current cover of Time - an illustration of Harris that, as noted, presented her as “a cross somewhere between Miss America and a religious icon” - was in reality an illustration of just how the “mainstream media” was thoroughly in the tank for Democrats and the Left in general, and, this election year, Harris in particular.
A week later, the New York Post is headlining another story about Time - a story that might be seen as reporting on the consequences for Time for tilting

The bodies of a British tech tycoon, a Morgan Stanley executive, and five others, including a teenager, have been recovered after the superyacht Bayesian sank off the coast of Sicily on Aug. 19.
What happened, and how could such a huge vessel suddenly go down within sight of the shore?
Who Was on Board and Why?
When a storm struck the superyacht Bayesian, off Porticello, near Palermo, around 5 a.m. on Aug. 19, there were 22 people on board: 12 passengers and a crew of 10.
The passengers included Mike Lynch, the founder and former CEO of software firm Autonomy, his wife Angela Bacares—who was the Bayesian’s legal owner—and their 18-year-old daughter Hannah.

In a groundbreaking announcement that has sent waves through the political and medical communities, President Donald Trump has unveiled his plan to form an expert panel in partnership with Robert F. Kennedy Jr. to address the alarming rise of chronic diseases in children.
This announcement, made at a rally in Glendale, Arizona, signals a direct challenge to Big Pharma, whose unchecked influence has long been suspected of contributing to the health crisis facing the nation’s youth.
For years, Big Pharma has been raking in billions while

Earlier, Ed wrote about the way in which the media seems to have gone all in on what could be described as the Empty Suit Campaign. Harris has said almost nothing specific about her plans and has given no interviews and yet most of the media seems thrilled to report this vacuous campaign as a triumph of good vibes. She's the change candidate. The joy candidate. And that's enough for most of them.
Today I noticed a couple of mildly critical pieces over at the NY Times. Here's one titled "Harris Faces Challenge of Translating Convention Joy to Fall Momentum."
Vice President Kamala Harris emerged

Although she was a good candidate the Dems have been winning this seat using the crooked Rank Choice gimmick. Now with only 1 Republican in the race the Democrat will almost certainly be vanquished in Nov.
