Time Magazine Pays the Price for Lost Credibility

Original Article

Last week in this space the focus was on Time magazine’s glorification of now Democrat presidential nominee Vice President Kamala Harris. The point was that the then-current cover of Time - an illustration of Harris that, as noted, presented her as “a cross somewhere between Miss America and a religious icon” - was in reality an illustration of just how the “mainstream media” was thoroughly in the tank for Democrats and the Left in general, and, this election year, Harris in particular. A week later, the New York Post is headlining another story about Time - a story that might be seen as reporting on the consequences for Time for tilting

I'm glad to see that time is running out on Time. Decades ago, I was a faithful subscriber. Left-wing bias has evolved into left-wing propaganda, and that's killing the magazine.

Another liberal rag where "They're not reading your stuff.". Leftists think that there should be no consequences for failing to perform your job. That's because they are incompetent and don't want to be held accountable for it. Then they are angry with Conservatives for holding them accountable. Leftists fail to understand or accept that is not US who are holding them accountable, it is a fundamental "natural law" of expecting people to be reasonably good at what they do and honest in what they say. Liberals think that they should be allowed to "win" due to some innate superiority that they possess; that they are special. When we point out that they are wrong and their ideas simply do not work, it is considered a personal assault on them, re: the WaaPoo staff when confronted with a similar truth. Yet their anger and angst cannot continually hold back real world consequences of their foolishness. This is why they passionately HATE Trump, because he holds up a mirror and tells them to see what they are, fake.

Time has been a liberal rag since I was old enough to know the difference some 60 years ago, I don't think they have had any cred since. In those days the better choice was US News and World report but I don't know how they are now.

Back in the mid-70’s I read the cover headline, “Why ‘Roots’ Hit Home”. It annoyed me. Not long afterward, when a man known to few outside his native Georgia decided to run for President, Time ran a story about how the American South was finally emerging from the swampland of post-Civil War racism and had now not only joined the human race but was possibly superior to everywhere else. It featured pictures of things like people picnicking next to lazy rivers and black children frolicking in public pools. Everyone was grinning. The article didn’t mention Carter once but their intent was obvious. I let my subscription lapse after that because I hate both being herded and having my intelligence insulted. Especially by self-congratulatory entitled Ivy League dopes.

Former CNN host Chris Cuomo might be no longer employed by one of the country’s premier liberal propagandists, but he’s proving one thing: He can’t handle the truth. And conservative commentator Bill O’Reilly speaking the truth about Vice President Kamala Harris was a case in point. In a clash after the close of Thursday’s Democratic convention — a clash that turned bitterly personal at points — O’Reilly and Cuomo, now with NewsNation, hammered at each other over the Democratic nominee’s wafer-thin keynote address, which O’Reilly graded a “C.”

PALM BEACH, Florida — Former President Donald Trump told Breitbart News exclusively that when he was shot in Butler, Pennsylvania, in mid-July he knew instantly it was a bullet that had hit him. “A lot of times, and I was thinking about this, it would seem like a surreal moment—like you don’t realize almost where you are,” Trump said when asked to describe what went through his mind in that moment. “I never felt that. I knew immediately I got hit by a bullet.” Trump’s comments came during a lengthy exclusive interview at Mar-a-Lago a couple weeks ago, where he sat for an hour with Breitbart News after a press conference

Vice President Kamala Harris has frequently cited her upbringing and family as she crisscrosses the nation in an effort to rally support for her newly-formed presidential campaign, including touting her father in a rare mention at the DNC. "My early memories of our parents together are very joyful ones. A home filled with laughter and music: Aretha, Coltrane and Miles. At the park, my mother would say, ‘Stay close.’ But my father would say, as he smiled, ‘Run, Kamala, run. Don’t be afraid. Don’t let anything stop you.’ From my earliest years, he taught me to be fearless," Harris said during her acceptance speech

In the five weeks since Kamala Harris took over President Joe Biden’s struggling presidential campaign, she’s notably avoided any substantive interactions with the press — no sit down interviews, no long press conferences. Two weeks ago, she suggested her media blackout might end before Labor Day. “I want us to get an interview scheduled before the end of the month,” Harris promised reporters at an extremely brief (70 seconds) Q & A with reporters in Michigan back on August 8. Yet looking at the record of the past 20 years, Harris has absolutely no reason to avoid a press corps overwhelmingly dominated by liberals. Democratic presidential nominees have never had a problem

Vice President Kamala Harris was put in charge of addressing the 'root causes' of migration that lead to people from Central America to flee to the U.S. But after three-and-a-half years as President Joe Biden's 'border czar,' Republicans say that Harris has not done her job to quell the surging migration crisis at the southern border – and that policies have heightened the issue. Sen. J.D. Vance says that the 'root cause' of the current crisis is Harris' failure to do her job. Since Biden took office in 2021, Customs and Border Protection has encountered more than 8 million migrants along the southern border.

There are not enough Merchant Marines for the U.S. Navy to fully man 17 vessels, reportedly causing officials to plan to take them out of regular operation. The Merchant Marines organization, made up of civilian mariners managed by a combination of federal government and the private sector, has lost too much manpower to “properly crew and operate ships across the fleet,” Fox News reported. “The problem, of course, is the ships are at sea, away from home port 12 months of the year,” Rear Admiral (Ret.) Rommelmann pointed out that schools were forced to remain closed in Democrat-run cities while Republican governors began opening back up their states. She cited the destruction that these cities are still facing the repercussions thanks to the Biden Administration’s policies.
