The Ain al-Asad air base in Iraq, which houses U.S. troops, was reportedly attacked with rockets on Monday, according to sources.
The news was broken by Reuters, which was told about the situation by multiple security sources. At least two Katyusha rockets were fired towards the base.
The sources did not confirm if the attack caused any deaths or injuries, though one security source said that the rockets fell inside the base. The incident comes as tensions in the Middle East escalate amid the Israel-Hamas war. Last week, Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh was assassinated in Tehran, causing the Iranian government to vow retribution against Israel.

Nearly 100 illegal immigrants on the terror watch list have been released into the United States during the Biden administration, while Border Patrol agents have encountered migrants on the watch list from dozens of different countries, a new House report is revealing.
"Under the Biden-Harris Administration, of the more than 250 illegal aliens on the terrorist watchlist who were encountered by Border Patrol at the southwest border between fiscal years 2021 and 2023, DHS has released into American communities at least 99, with at least 34 others in DHS custody but not yet removed from the United States," the report by Republicans on the House Judiciary Committee,

If you've been on social media this past week, there's a good chance you've come across a video that has gone viral showing Kamala Harris answering a question about how she will fix inflation. Trust me when I tell you that it is hilarious.
"What else are you going to do to fix this problem with inflation?" a reporter asks her in the clip.
"Well, let’s start with this," Kamala began. "Uhh.. prices have gone up. And families and individuals are dealing with the realities of — that bread costs more, that gas costs more. And we have to understand what that means. That’s about the cost of living going up,

US supreme court justice Neil Gorsuch has said ordinary Americans are “getting whacked” by too many laws and regulations in a new book that underscores his skepticism of federal agencies and the power they wield.
“Too little law and we’re not safe, and our liberties aren’t protected,” Gorsuch told the Associated Press in an interview in his supreme court office. “But too much law and you actually impair those same things.”
Over Ruled: The Human Toll of Too Much Law is being published Tuesday by Harper, an imprint of HarperCollins Publishers. Gorsuch has received a $500,000 advance for the book, according to his annual financial disclosure reports.

US President Joe Biden is set to meet his national security team on Monday to discuss “developments in the Middle East”, the White House has said, as the US deploys extra fighter jets and warships to the region amid growing fears of an Iranian attack on Israel.
Regional tensions have increased after the assassination last week of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran a day after an Israeli strike in Beirut killed Fuad Shukur, a senior military commander from the Lebanese group Hezbollah. Both groups are backed by Iran, which has sworn revenge.
Biden will also speak to Jordan’s King Abdullah II, the White House said,

Shortly after Friday’s anemic jobs report came out, the stock market tumbled, recession fears rose, and the Biden-Harris administration issued another Pollyannish report about how great the economy is doing – this time with bigger and bolder lies.
Not only did just 114,000 jobs get created in July, which was well below economists’ expectations, but the jobless rate went up for the fourth consecutive month to 4.3% as 352,000 joined the unemployment lines. That’s not exactly “Morning in America.”
It gets worse.
The Bureau of Labor Statistics also admitted that it had overestimated the job gains in both May and June by a total of 29,000.

One mayoral hopeful isn’t very high on the city’s effort to crack down on illegal pot shops.
City Comptroller Brad Lander is launching a probe into rival Mayor Eric Adams’ high-profile “Operation Padlock” program that has closed about 800 unlicensed cannabis shops in the city since mid-May.
Lander announced the investigation into Operation Padlock in an Aug.1 letter to city Sheriff Anthony Miranda — two days after officially announcing his bid to run against Adams in the Democratic primary for mayor. City Comptroller Brad Lander’s letter said the investigation “will review the department’s enforcement of laws barring the unlicensed retail sale of cannabis, and its fiscal impact on the City.”

When President Donald Trump left office, there was peace throughout the world. Today, there are ongoing wars in several regions of the world and other conflicts could escalate into war at any time. While Trump was President, Russia did not invade any countries, in contrast to what happened during the George W. Bush and Barack Obama administrations.
Obviously, Russian President Vladimir Putin noticed a vast difference once Joe Biden and Kamala Harris took over. Immediately, the United States military made a dramatic turn towards woke policies, which contributed to a huge decline in recruitment.

Bangladesh’s Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina resigned on Monday, ending 15 years in power as thousands of protesters defied a military curfew and stormed her official residence.
Shortly after local media showed the embattled leader boarding a military helicopter with her sister, Bangladesh’s military chief Gen. Waker-uz-Zaman announced plans to seek the president’s guidance on forming interim government.
He promised that the military would stand down, and to launch an investigation into the deadly crackdowns that fueled outrage against the government, and asked citizens for time to restore peace.

So says George C. Scott’s Patton in the eponymous movie when his comrades want another day’s rest during the Sicilian campaign.
No one is going to mistake Kamala Harris for General Patton, or even George C. Scott, but her latest tack on immigration honors his call for “audacity, audacity, always audacity.”
After helping preside over a comprehensive failure at the border, a lesser politician might mumble something or other and change the subject to aborting babies.
A politician with an ounce of respect for the public might at least acknowledge, before saying anything else, that “mistakes were made.”

The past 48 hours have been the most dramatic and consequential of any since Hamas’s war against Israel began on October 7, 2023. More than that: they could reverse the momentum of this war which, until now, has been dictated by the Islamic Republic of Iran and its proxies. On July 30, as the sun began to set in Beirut, Israel launched a precision air strike on Fuad Shukr, a senior Hezbollah military commander. The strike took place in the Dahiyeh neighborhood, which is Hezbollah’s stronghold in the city.

Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., criticized the Biden administration’s handling of Venezuela's Nicolas Maduro, arguing that it has fed his regime’s strongman image and emboldened him in his more authoritarian aims.
"In my view, it strengthened them internally, and I think gave him the boldness to say: I can get away with this now," Rubio argued. "I'll be condemned. They’ll snap back some sanctions, people will say mean things about me, but in a few months… 2 million more people will leave Venezuela. I'll put some people in jail and crack down on them,
