It appears that MSNBC is shocked to see some of the biggest names in Republican politics conspicuously absent from the RNC.
Who are these conservative luminaries? (X Photo) Among the “notable Republicans” absent from the convention: George W. Bush, Mike Pence, Mitt Romney, Liz Cheney and Paul Ryan. (Photo) What an unfathomable loss; how can the convention go on without these critical thought leaders? More importantly, how could their consciences permit them to forsake the voters who look to them for leadership?

Democratic strategist James Carville on Thursday criticized the belief of some of former President Donald Trump’s backers that “God is protecting him” after surviving an assassination attempt on Saturday.
Trump survived the attempt on his life at his Pennsylvania rally after a bullet grazed his head, with some of the former president’s backers now believing that he is being protected by God, according to The New York Times. Carville on “Politics War Room” said he thinks this belief is “horseshit” and “a perversion,” adding that their religious perspective will lead to Trump destroying his enemies if reelected.

This was a surreal and amazing incident that unfolded tonight at the Republican National Convention.
Kimberly Cheatle, the director of the Secret Service, was confronted by Republican senators John Barrasso of Wyoming and Marsha Blackburn of Tennessee, who were demanding answers about the failure of the Secret Service to protect Donald Trump.
Kim Cheatle tried to run away but the senators chased after her, demanding answers.
This is just stunning. Watch below:

Austin Private Wealth, LLC, a Texas-based financial planning company, is being scrutinized after a social media post went viral that claimed they had put options on as many as 12 million shares of DJT shares just one day before the assassination attempt on Donald Trump.
The investment firm denied the allegations and has now blamed a filing error for this controversial action. (Snip) If Trump did die in the assassination attempt, his company would have become worthless. It’s stock would have become Zero in a day. The people who bought Put Options would have made billions in profits.

MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough all but called on President Biden to drop his re-election campaign Thursday — as the TV host ripped the commander-in-chief’s inner circle for keeping him in the race.
“This is not going to end well if it continues to drag out,” Scarborough said during a lengthy spiel on his “Morning Joe” talk show. Scarborough, who has staunchly defended the 81-year-old president in recent weeks despite the mounting calls for him to step aside, called on those closest to Biden to help him “do the right thing.”
“It’s really incumbent on people that are around Joe Biden to step up at this point and help

Former President Barack Obama is pressuring President Biden to reconsider his 2024 run for re-election, according to a new report.
Obama and Biden have only spoken once since the president’s debate debacle on June 27 — but stressed during that conversation that his old running mate’s chances of beating Donald Trump were “greatly diminished,” the Washington Post reported.
The 44th president also stressed that while Biden’s legacy was important to him, only his former vice president could make the call on whether to stay in the race. “Our campaign is not working through any scenarios where President Biden is not at the top of the ticket.

Sources tell Axios' Jim VandeHei and Mike Allen that Democratic party leaders and close friends of Joe Biden will convince him to bail out of the presidential contest as soon as this weekend.According to the report, Biden's defiance is strictly for public consumption. In private "he's resigned to mounting pressure, bad polls, and untenable scrutiny making it impossible to continue his campaign, the Democrats tell us."
Behind the scenes: The private message, distilled to its bluntest form: The top leaders of his party, his friends and key donors believe he can't win, can't change public perceptions of his age and acuity, and can't deliver congressional majorities.

Just when I think the media can’t get any dumber, folks like MSNBC’s Joy Reid prove me dead wrong.
In Reid’s latest tap-dancing routine for President Joe Biden, she responded to the news that he has COVID-19 – again. During the segment, she lauded Biden’s latest COVID diagnosis as an opportunity to attack former President Donald Trump, who is riding high after Saturday’s attempt on his life.
And not spread COVID around, but also to remind people of what hell we went through with COVID because of Donald Trump. Here is a great messaging opportunity for President Biden to bring out the tape and remind people of how many people died.

GOP Vice Presidential nominee and Ohio Sen. J.D. Vance was the finale of day three at the RNC, and he spoke about his upbringing, unity, and free speech as he accepted the nomination to become Vice President of the United States of America.
Here is what Vance said when accepting the nomination to become VP:
And so tonight, Mr. Chairman, I stand here humbled and I'm overwhelmed with gratitude to say I officially accept your nomination to be Vice President of the United States of America.
When speaking about the assassination attempt on Trump, here is part of what Vance said:
Now consider what they said. They said he was a tyrant.

Democratic Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer is reportedly urging President Joe Biden to end his campaign bid, according to ABC News Chief Washington Correspondent Jonathan Karl.
During an interview on air at the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Karl discussed the “intensifying” pressure that has been building against Biden since his poor debate performance against former President Donald Trump in late June. Karl stated that within a private one-on-one meeting Saturday between the Democratic Senate Leader and Biden, Schumer allegedly “made the case” for the president to step aside as the nominee.
“I am told that the pressure from Democratic leaders for Biden to get out of the race is intensifying.

Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi told President Biden in a private conversation that polling indicates he can’t beat Donald Trump in the 2024 election, according to a report.
Pelosi also conveyed to Biden, 81, that his continued presidential re-election campaign could destroy Democrats’ chances of winning the House in November, four sources told CNN.
The California congresswoman referred to several polls showing that Trump would beat the incumbent during their private conversation, the report said.

Why did Donald Trump select JD Vance? Obviously, their current policy views are simpatico, but JD Vance was not supportive back in 2016. He was pretty harsh about Donald Trump the candidate. You know who else was? Me. Dig back through my columns and you’ll see. I was never a Never Trumper. I was always going to vote for the GOP nominee, and I did vote for the nominee. But I was a Ted Cruz guy because I didn’t think Donald Trump was actually going to do the things Donald Trump said he was going to do and I said so. In fact, CNN used to have me on
