Republicans always seem to come home. Some sooner than others. Vivek Ramaswamy never really ran against him. Ron DeSantis threw his weight behind him within an hour of dropping out of the primary. But Nikki Haley, the last woman standing, she took her time. The endorsement took three full months to arrive. Donald Trump didn’t mind. The former president did not need her support to lock down a third consecutive nomination. He may not need it to return to the White House either. But as Haley walked onstage at the Republican National Convention Tuesday, Trump beamed. He listened with a bandaged ear from a box overlooking the arena

From this article: "Yet, if there is one thing Trump has notably not done this week, it is gloat." I guess what has bothered me all along is how he has been treated since 2016. No different than how Sarah Palin was treated. I still do not understand the vitriol aimed at Donald Trump or Sarah Palin. Both of their characters have been attacked and Donald Trump won't put up with it. How many of us would? During his presidency, they were relentless. So enough with the gloating terminology. If there is anything I have learned from all of this is Donald Trump's determination to Make America Great Again. This country (to him) is God's country. I've come to realize (sadly) that the devil does prowl around and he certainly did on July 13. With that said, government thinks they own us, liberals think they own themselves but, in reality, we rent everything from God.

Former President Donald Trump formally accepts the 2024 Republican presidential nomination in a speech at the Republican National Convention. FORMER PRESIDENT DONALD TRUMP: There is no greater love than to lay down one's life for others. This is the spirit that forged America in her darkest hours, and this is the love that will lead America back to the summit of human achievement and greatness. This is what we need. Despite such a heinous attack, we unite this evening more determined than ever. I am more determined than ever, and so are you. So is everybody in this room.

The sister of the man who opened fire on former President Trump on Saturday is a "hardworking" woman with two jobs, according to a report. A neighbor of Katie Crooks said she moved out of her family home three years ago into an apartment – and that her now notorious brother helped her transfer her belongings. "The person who helped her, I couldn’t tell if it was a male or a female," the neighbor told the New York Post. "A couple of days later, I asked if it was one of her siblings and she said it was her brother. The one who shot Trump… He was real scrawny."

FOX News host Jesse Watters addresses the inconsistencies in the Secret Service's version of events of the attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump. JESSE WATTERS: His first since dodging an assassin's bullet, or as he's calling it, the greatest earache he's ever had. And as the details keep dripping out, we have more questions. Tonight, we're learning that the gunman was on law enforcement's radar for three hours, and the Secret Service designated Crooks a threat 10 minutes before Trump took the stage. And the Secret Service never said, Mr. President, don't go out there. They let Trump take the stage anyway. And eight minutes later, he was shot.

MILWAUKEE — Oh, they’re friends again. It was reconciliation night Tuesday, day two of the Republican National Convention. Many of the GOP rivals that former President Donald Trump has mercilessly beaten in two Republican Party primaries took to the convention stage to tell American voters why they now love Trump. Or at least can plug their nostrils long enough to vote for the GOP nominee — in the case of Trump’s former United Nations Ambassador and defense industry darling Nikki Haley.

Donald Trump’s announcement that Ohio Sen. JD Vance is his vice-presidential pick was music to my ears. I’ve known Vance for more than a decade and can attest to his smarts, his seriousness and his undying devotion to America and its working class. He is an ideal pick for Trump and one that presages the transformation of the Republican Party into a true, multi-ethnic working-class coalition. I met JD at a political seminar in 2015. We quickly bonded over our shared interest in using public policy to help the country’s struggling working-class voters. In this pre-Trump age, that was not a popular position within the GOP. But that didn’t matter to

American model Amber Rose fired back at MSNBC's Joy Reid on Tuesday after the host criticized her address in support of former President Trump, dismissing her as "racially ambiguous." Rose spoke in front of a packed room at the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee Monday night, recalling her own political conversion and how she went from thinking Trump was a "racist," to supporting his movement. Reid wasted little time tearing into the model on MSNBC, cautioning Black voters from embracing the message that Rose, a person of color with mainstream fame, had delivered on stage.

Former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley made her highly anticipated appearance at the Republican Convention, taking the stage to a mixture of cheers and boos from those in attendance. Haley, who was former President Donald Trump’s fiercest primary rival, gave the former president her "strong endorsement" during the appearance in Milwaukee, ending months of speculation on if she would throw her weight behind her former rival. But the initial reaction to Haley’s arrival stood in stark contrast to Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, Trump’s chief primary rival during the 2016 campaign, who received a standing ovation from those in the crowd, including Trump themselves.

The White House is now faced with a conundrum — how to make the case against Donald Trump as a quasi-Nazi while lowering the proverbial temperature after his near-assassination? Joe Biden’s Oval Office address calling for toning down the overheated rhetoric in our politics was fine as far as it went, except it included no mea culpa, no assurance that he’ll try to do better himself, no recognition that his political and media allies have been the worst offenders. Over-the-top attacks on Trump haven’t been incidental to the Democratic 2024 campaign, but central to it.

On Jan. 20, 2021, President Biden, in his Inauguration Day address, pledged his “whole soul is this: Bringing America together. Uniting our people. And uniting our nation.” In the wake of the assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump on Saturday, our nation has never been less cohesive or more divided and bitter. Much of that fracture is solely because of Mr. Biden and his unrelenting attacks on Mr. Trump and his MAGA supporters — a whopping 74 million Americans to judge by the 2020 election returns. “Donald Trump and the MAGA Republicans represent an extremism that threatens the very foundations of our republic,” Mr. Biden said

Trump survived the attempt on his life at his Pennsylvania rally after a bullet grazed his head, with some of the former president’s backers now believing that he is being protected by God, according to The New York Times. Carville on “Politics War Room” said he thinks this belief is “horseshit” and “a perversion,” adding that their religious perspective will lead to Trump destroying his enemies if reelected.

Obama and Biden have only spoken once since the president’s debate debacle on June 27 — but stressed during that conversation that his old running mate’s chances of beating Donald Trump were “greatly diminished,” the Washington Post reported. The 44th president also stressed that while Biden’s legacy was important to him, only his former vice president could make the call on whether to stay in the race. “Our campaign is not working through any scenarios where President Biden is not at the top of the ticket.
