I want to thank The United States Secret Service, and all of Law Enforcement, for their rapid response on the shooting that just took place in Butler, Pennsylvania. Most importantly, I want to extend my condolences to the family of the person at the Rally who was killed, and also to the family of another person that was badly injured. It is incredible that such an act can take place in our Country. Nothing is known at this time about the shooter, who is now dead. I was shot with a bullet that pierced the upper part of my right ear. I knew immediately

Do not believe anything the govt tells you going forward regarding the assassination attempt of President Trump. They and the lapdogs in the Swamp Media are going to spin this thing right into the ground. By the time they finish vomiting their bullschitt, they'll have you believing it was a MAGA supporter who did the shooting.

I have prayed for this man's safety for months. Will continue to do so. We need this man. The country needs this man. As he said, 'they want you, I am just in the way'. Right. Support this president all the way until he is back in office.

Another unintended consequence. Trump is now a heroic figure. Heroic figures win elections. The SS screwed up by allowing a line of sight access to Trump. The SS reports to Homeland Security. Mayorkas runs Homeland Security.

Media is reporting that the shooter was a registered Republican as if that means something. He could have done that to distract from placing the blame squarely where it belongs - on Biden, his entire administration, the enemedia, the DNC and every democrat voter in the country.

Before gunshots erupted at former President Donald Trump's campaign rally on Saturday, one police officer had confronted the now identified shooter, Thomas Matthew Crooks on the roof of a nearby building, according to two law enforcement officials who spoke to the Associated Press on Sunday. Trump, the presumptive Republican presidential nominee, was speaking at his rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, on Saturday evening when he was shot on stage, with a bullet hitting the upper part of his right ear. The suspected gunman, now identified by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) as 20-year-old Crooks of Bethel Park, Pennsylvania, was shot and killed by the Secret Service.

Rep. Jared Golden, D-Maine, penned a lengthy thread on X about the hyperbole in American politics, urging politicians to stop framing their opponents as "fascists." The vulnerable Democrat congressman took to X to denounce the current path that he says the country is on, adding that leaders need to guide America down a different one. "We can start by dropping hyperbolic threats about the stakes of this election," he wrote. "It should not be misleadingly portrayed as a struggle between democracy or authoritarianism or a battle against fascists or socialists bent on destroying America. These are dangerous lies."

Ronald Reagan’s legend began after he was shot. With his doctors soon to operate, he quipped, “I hope you’re all Republicans.” He told his wife, “Honey, I forgot to duck.” The coolness reinforced his image as America’s new leading man. “One of the political axioms, I have always felt, was you concentrate on your strength,” Reagan’s longtime strategist, Richard Wirthlin, once told me. The shooting accentuated an impression. Reagan had shown poise under fire. He was still a new president when he was shot in 1981. Public approval would only modestly, and fleetingly, rise. But the impression lasted. The image of Donald Trump with streaks of blood across his face

Having just spent a week padding about battle sites around Verdun and the Somme, I could not help but register the historical vibration of certain dates. Was it entirely coincidental that on July 18, 1918, Ferdinand Foch, the Allied Supreme Commander, launched a major counteroffensive against the Germans in the Second Battle of the Marne? That operation was the beginning of the end for the Boche. They sued for peace in November after American General John Pershing crushed the German forces near Montfaucon, northwest of Verdun. This Thursday, July 18, 2024, Donald Trump will deliver his acceptance speech at the Republican National Convention

What you need to know. Former US President Donald Trump was whisked off stage by security service agents after gunshots were heard at a rally in Pennsylvania. His team quickly confirmed he was doing fine. Shortly after, Trump said in a post on Truth Social that his ear was grazed by a bullet. The FBI has taken over from the US Secret Service to investigate the case. Hours after the attack, Trump thanked supporters for their "thoughts and prayers" and said it was important to remain "defiant in the face of wickedness."

BBC REPORTER: You weren't inside the event but you were just outside. Tell us what you saw. PENNSYLVANIA MAN: So we had a party here all day and you can see behind us at the [local restaurant] here, we had a party. The assassination attempt of former President Donald Trump left a nation stunned. But the most shocking aspect was that it was not nearly as surprising as it should have been. For months, politicians, the press and pundits have escalated reckless rhetoric in this campaign on both sides. That includes claims that Trump was set to kill democracy, unleash “death squads” and make homosexuals and reporters “disappear.” President Biden has stoked this rage rhetoric. In 2022, Biden held his controversial speech before Independence Hall where he denounced Trump supporters as enemies of the people. Biden recently referenced the speech and has embraced the claims that this could be our last democratic election.

The dark reality of Bidenomics is the alarming 19.5% inflation under the President’s watch, which is 5.7% annually. When he took office, inflation was at just 1.4%. Since March 2021, inflation has consistently remained above the Federal Reserve's 2% target for 40 consecutive months. Under Biden, the federal debt has increased by $6.9 trillion. To finance his spending spree, the Federal Reserve printed money from nothing. The increased money supply, without a corresponding increase in goods and services, reduced the value of each dollar, causing prices to rise quickly and leading to high inflation, effectively acting as a hidden tax on everyone.

Leonid Brezhnev led the former Soviet Union as General Secretary of the Communist Party until 1982. But like most Russian apparatchiks who excessively smoked, drank, and gained weight, he aged prematurely. Also like them, his disabilities never led to his abdication. By Brezhnev's late 60s and early 70s, he was too ill to travel abroad or make public appearances. Indeed, his debility left the Soviet Union without a real leader for the final six or seven years of his tenure. Brezhnev got away with it because the Soviet state-controlled media doctored photos and videos to attest to his supposedly vigorous health and constant hands-on involvement.

There is one key reason why President Biden is stubbornly insisting — despite calls from some fellow Democrats to step aside — that he will not drop out of his race for reelection: Jill Biden. The first lady is clearly the driving force behind his stumbling, grumbling, bumbling, mumbling bid for a second term despite obvious signs that he is not up to the rigors of the world’s toughest job for four more years. Jill hungrily appears to want to cling to the White House more tenaciously than Mr. Biden. She clearly loves the public spotlight and the perks of the office too much to let them go.

Law enforcement officials admitted it was “surprising” how the gunman was able to get so many shots off in the attempted assassination on former President Donald Trump before he was taken out by Secret Service snipers. During a press conference early Sunday, officials from the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Pennsylvania State Police deferred several questions about security to the Secret Service — who were notably absent. When asked if he was surprised at the number of shots the gunman was able to take at a former president, Kevin Rojek, special agent in charge of the FBI’s Pittsburgh field office, said:

The gunman who attempted to assassinate former President Donald Trump Saturday was identified as 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks, sources told The Post. Crooks, of Bethel Park, Pa., squeezed off shots — one of which grazed Trump in the ear — at an outdoor rally in Butler, just outside Pittsburgh. Sources said Crooks was planted on a roof of a manufacturing plant more than 130 yards away from the stage at Butler Farm Show grounds. He was killed by Secret Service snipers. An AR-style rifle was later recovered. Bethel Park is a village 40 miles south of where the Butler rally was held. Why Crooks fired on the presumptive Republican presidential nominee is unclear.

FiveThirtyEight found that Biden was favored to win the November presidential election “50 times out of 100,” whereas former President Donald Trump was favored to win the presidential election “49 times out of 100.” The predicted outcomes were a result of FiveThirtyEight’s “simulations of the 2024 presidential election.” Out of 1,000 simulations, FiveThirtyEight found that Biden won 505 times, while Trump won 491 times.

Former and potentially future President Donald Trump was shot at his rally in Butler County in Pennsylvania on Saturday night, an incident that could have been much worse had Trump turned his head a different way. Secret Service agents quickly sprang into action to escort him off of the stage and to safety. In light of such serious news, it's worth reminding that Rep. Bennie Thompson (D-MS), who was chairman of the January 6 Select Committee, just months ago introduced legislation to deny presidents who were convicted of felonies. On Monday, during an appearance on “Morning Joe,” President Biden used violent rhetoric about Donald Trump. “It’s time to put Trump in the bullseye,” Biden said. Earlier this evening, Trump was shot at during a rally in Pennsylvania. As my colleague, Rick Moran, wrote earlier today: For years, Republicans have been told their rhetoric leads to violence. Sarah Palin put a bullseye on the congressional district of Rep. Gabby Giffords. The "crosshairs" were not placed on Giffords. They were placed on her district on a map. After Giffords was shot by a mentally unstable person, Democrats blamed Palin for the attack. School shootings, mass casualty events, and almost any act of violence
