Trump invokes murdered Houston girl Jocelyn
Nungaray at presidential debate

While railing against President Joe Biden's immigration policies during Thursday's presidential debate, former President Donald Trump invoked Jocelyn Nungaray, a 12-year-old Houstonian whose murder in mid-June has taken on national profile due to its alleged perpetrators' immigration status. Referring to America as a "rat's nest" of illegal immigration, Trump conjured images of murderous immigrants overrunning major American cities before appearing to reference Nungaray's funeral, which was held earlier in the day at Houston's Earthman Resthaven Funeral Home. "They're killing our citizens at a level we've never seen before, and you're reading [about] it," Trump said. /cut/ "This is horrible what's taken place."

Comments:

Biden's response: "He went to the funeral. The idea that she was murdered by an immigrant. But here's the deal, a lot of young women are being raped by their inlaws. By their spouses. By their brothers and sisters. It's just ridiculous."

Yes, and most real Americans totally agree with him. Biden says that American sisters are raping family members in a weak attempt to defend the illegal immigrants.

For those not ‘in the know’, Chron is Zippy & shorthand (youngsters Google that to know it is not a micro aggression) name for the last standing ‘news’paper in Houston, the massive 1,000 square mile third world city on Texas’ coastal plain. Car loving Carson is ‘splaining that this kind of thing is something ‘everyone in Houston’ does and has always done. A typical stoopid response from Biden. Since rapes and murders already occur it is OK with him to import rapists and murderers from prisons in Venezuela. Everyone in his family is protected by 24 hour armed security, so it doesn't matter to him if the peons and peasants have to suffer from crime.

A federal judge in Anchorage has ruled that the Department of the Interior may take land into trust on behalf of Alaska Native tribes, a decision that could allow tribes to create “Indian country,” which had been mostly eliminated here by the 53-year-old Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act. In a 39-page summary judgment order, Judge Sharon Gleason ruled mostly but not entirely against the state of Alaska, which sued the Interior Department in 2023 to challenge a legal memo stating that the department believes it has the power to take land into trust on behalf of the state’s 228 federally recognized tribes. At issue was the Biden Interior Department's

An increasingly desperate Emmanuel Macron has warned the public that “civil war” awaits France if they fail to vote for his brand of centrist neo-liberalism in the upcoming legislative elections. Voting for either of the “two extremes” of the populist right-wing National Rally or the leftist-socialist New Popular Front will lead to “civil war”, Macron said in an interview in which he castigated the leadership of the two main opposition parties “and those who follow them”. The embattled French leader, who’s party is trailing in third place in the snap elections he called, said that the “response of the extreme right” to France’s current problems would lead to insecurity

The CEO of a hot artificial intelligence startup won praise from other chief executives, including Elon Musk, after he announced a hiring policy that focuses on merit. Alexandr Wang, who founded Scale AI in 2016, shared on social media that his company has formalized an MEI hiring policy. That is, "merit, excellence and intelligence," in apparent contrast to DEI, or diversity, equity and inclusion policies popular at other companies. "Scale is a meritocracy, and we must always remain one,". "Hiring on merit will be a permanent policy at Scale." The CEO emphasized that Scale AI treats candidates as individuals, not representatives of groups. "We do not unfairly stereotype, tokenize,

State legislators and law enforcement are reinstating dormant laws that criminalize mask-wearing to penalize pro-Palestinian protesters who conceal their faces, raising concerns among covid-cautious Americans. Republican lawmakers in North Carolina are poised to overturn Gov. Roy Cooper’s (D) recent veto of legislation to criminalize masking. New York Gov. Kathy Hochul (D) said earlier this month she supports legislative efforts to ban masks on the subway, citing an incident where masked protesters on a train shouted, “Raise your hands if you’re a Zionist. This is your chance to get out.” Student protesters in Ohio, Texas and Florida have been threatened with arrest for covering their faces.

"LMAO," Sorett said in response to a sarcastic message from his colleague, Columbia’s vice dean and chief administrative officer Susan Chang-Kim, who said of Columbia’s Hillel director, Brian Cohen, "He is our hero." The exchange came as Cohen told a concerned parent in the audience that his "soul has been broken" by the protests—which included calls to murder Jewish students and "burn Tel Aviv to the ground."

The state of Missouri has filed a lawsuit against the technology giant International Business Machines Corporation (IBM) for unlawful practices in allegedly requiring racial and gender quotas in its hiring and promotion structures for employees. Missouri Republican Attorney General Andrew Bailey on Thursday filed suit against the company, alleging that such practices are a violation of the Missouri Human Rights Act. "It has come to my attention that IBM has adopted an unlawful policy that blatantly favors applicants of a certain gender or skin color over others, and that managers within the company who refuse to comply with said policy face adverse action, including and up to, termination.

The Charter Revision Commission convened by Mayor Adams may have started as a politically motivated effort to fend off a City Council power grab — but on Monday, commissioners heard a reform proposal that could profoundly change Gotham politics for the better. The possible change sounds simple: giving nearly one million more registered voters the right to participate in primary elections. But its impact could be profound, offering New York City a way to take back local government from the hard left. Today, voters not registered to a major party are shut out of primaries, our most important local elections.

Republicans in the Michigan House of Representatives are doubling down on their opposition to a Democrat-led bill, which could put the state’s 15 electoral votes in line with the national popular vote in presidential elections. The effort comes as other states have passed measures looking to align themselves with the national popular vote, rather than their own state’s popular vote, as a way to change the way a president is elected. Seventeen states and the District of Columbia have already agreed to a compact which would have them vote in line with the popular vote, rather than their respective jurisdiction’s popular vote,

Crime in California has become a nationwide cautionary tale, but California's elected leaders, from Governor Gavin Newsom to Attorney General Rob Bonta to the Democrat Supermajority legislature, have done little except put a new paint job on a red-tagged building. From blue sky initiatives like high-tech surveillance to banning self-checkout, none of these addresses the root issue: people who do the crime in California rarely do the time. There are no consequences for criminal behavior; therefore, there is no reason not to escalate that behavior. Ergo, crime continues to be rampant. After decades of this, Californians have taken matters into their own hands.

Last year, GM outlined a $10 billion stock buyback close on the heels of reaching a costly new labor agreement with the United Auto Workers (UAW). Millions just witnessed the end of a presidency live on television. Joe Biden’s performance during the debate was embarrassing. Whenever CNN put him up on the split screen, he had a thousand-yard stare. He didn’t look old. He looked ancient. He looked empty. But at least he wasn’t speaking. Because when it was his time to answer, Biden was incoherent. He said he “beat Medicaid.” (Photo) Asked about abortion, he randomly started talking about migrant crime. “I really don’t know what he said at the end of that sentence,” former President Trump noted at one point, “and I don’t think he knows what he said either.” At one point Biden just froze.

During CNN's debate in Atlanta last night, Biden answered the moderators' questions with what his administration has currently accomplished and hopes to accomplish in another four years if he's reelected in November. Meanwhile, former President Donald Trump deflected many answers and had little to say about the exact policies he would enact as president. Everyone, even CNN, knows that Joe Biden is completely lost. If anyone doubted that, the Thursday debate proved the point. And by completely lost, I mean that he could not maintain focus when asked questions, could not figure out how to look into the camera, and said many things that, frankly, made no sense. I flipped on CNN for kicks and giggles (and no small amount of schadenfreude) and was shocked by what I saw because, as we know, Democrats usually back their guy to the end—"to the pain," as one "Princess Bride" character famously quipped. Instead, I witnessed weeping and gnashing of teeth—and an execution squad.
