French President Emmanuel Macron was pulverized in the national election today. According to exit polling, Marine LePen’s National Rally party will win around 32% of the vote, while Macron’s Renaissance party will win around 15%.
A massive rebuke of the leftist government in France.
PARIS — French President Emmanuel Macron dissolved parliament and called a fresh election on Sunday, following his party’s crushing defeat at the hands of far-right candidates in the European Union election.

Do you really believe that Macron and his fellow travelers in the EU will recede peacefully into the night? Even with the other populist votes across Western Europe, the Euro-crats in Brussels will never give up power. They will drag their feet, kick and scream and they will pretend that he elections never happened.

Reminds me of a line from Mel Brooks History of the World Part I.
Count DeMornay (Count The Money, played by Harvey Korman) tells King Louis that "the peasants are revolting."
King Louis (Mel Brooks) says, "yeah, they stink on ice."

Good news, it would seem. We'll see what actually changes, if anything other than some public faces and some labels.

Europe is waking up. Will the United States wake up too? The Elitists and their media will do anything and everything to stop it. The French Peasants have a history of revolution. will we all wait until we are all peasants to do something? By then it will be too late. The dictatorship will have gained full control. I.E. No legitimate elections allowed.

The reason for the “snap” election is because the Le Pen party spent all their funds on the E.U. election and is temporarily broke.
Sneaky bastards.

Again this from the press: "The far-right National Rally is projected to win the European..."
The 'Far Right' has come to mean anyone who doesn't go willingly into the hole they are digging for us.

Re #9, the Euro peasants must use their pitchforks. Personally, I prefer a rifle over a pitchfork any day, for "political purposes".

I really don't understand the reason for these "snap" elections: first Great Britain, now France.
Is the purpose of the quick rerun election to try to get the party in power to keep their positions?
Can somebody explain?

Apparently there will be 2 rounds of voting - on June 30 and then July 7th. Summer Olympics start in late July. Macron may have triggered a political meltdown.

Snap elections are just like runoff elections, a do over for the rulers who got snuck up on and clobbered. Some brilliant permanent ruling class members convinced the rubes of the need and nobility to win fifty percent of the vote. Thus the upstart expends all their resources in the first round and falls short. Guess who wins the second round; the establishment.
