1 In 5 NYC Hotels Is Now An Illegal Migrant
Shelter, Driving Up Prices

Summer tourists in New York City face unprecedented lodging costs as hotels throughout the city are being repurposed as migrant housing. The average price for a hotel room in the city, based on 2023 data, is a record-breaking $301 per night, an 8.5 percent increase from 2022 costs. This rise in prices is largely due to the city’s gross overcommitment to providing shelter for the influx of illegal migrants flooding the city. A recent change to Gotham’s “right to shelter” rule allows adult illegal migrants under the age of 23 to stay up to 60 days in city-run shelters.

Ya know what? I don't care. I don't care if it costs a thousand dollars a night. Anyone who goes to New York City deserves to be robbed by the hotels and will probably get robbed by a thief that is out with no bail. That's my opinion. I believe it's a good one.

I wonder when New Yorkers will WAKE UP and decide living under Democrat Rule is not working out for them. Are they really that stubborn that they absolutely MUST vote Democrat no matter how much it's hurting their lifestyle and their Pocketbook? I can't feel sorry for them because they still think their Governor is great and their Mayor is great, so enjoy! The rest of us won't spend one Dime in NY as long as it's loaded with Illegals who are allowed to Rob and Rape at will. No Thanks! As Grandma always said, You Made Your Bed, Now you have to lay in it! Good Luck!

If I were the lenders to these hotels, I'd be certain that payments are up-to-date and that the owners have put aside enough of their gains to cover the high cost of renovating their hotel -- especially if they are part of a framchise chain (think Holiday Inn Express) as they are looking at a substantial bill to return the hotel to its prior condition. I used to be in the hotel supply business and several of my customers told me that the unanticipated expenses (security, repairs) would keep them from going this option.

8.5% is less than the inflation rate and rents are going up faster than that. I suspect it would be a lot more than 8.5% if visitors were still coming to NYC in the numbers they used to before Biden.

That includes my headquarters for annual personal visits to NYC 15-20 years ago, Roosevelt Hotel, so convenient to Grand Central Terminal. The photos of it now are appalling and sad. I would not set foot in NYC now. We can't have nice things anymore, just one of the causes being illegal aliens. Vote Trump!

It’s no accident that The Wall Street Journal ran an “exclusive” hagiographic piece on Merrick Garland’s “by-the-book, play-no-favorites approach” the day the attorney general is set to be grilled by Congress. The administration wants to paint the AG as a fair-minded dispenser of justice. In truth, while Garland might occasionally — only when faced with no real options — put the Biden administration in an uncomfortable political position, he has regularly weaponized the agency to target the president’s political enemies, from pro-life protesters to concerned parents to presidential candidates. Even as I write this, Garland is refusing to hand over audio recordings of Joe Biden’s interviews with former Special Counsel Robert Hur,

The echo of “guilty” had barely subsided from Acting Justice Juan Merchan’s courthouse before a new meme waddled its way toward centerstage. “Felon.”That was going to be the new meme of the moment. The New York Times took up the baton instantly, issuing a stern editorial “Donald Trump, Felon” the very day of the verdict. The piece itself is mostly rabid anti-Trump boilerplate, but there is one bit that I hope people who still read the former paper of record will take to heart. It comes at the end: “The jurors have delivered their verdict, as the voters will in November.

This marks a historic turning point for South Africa as the party has enjoyed an absolute majority since 1994, when liberation hero Nelson Mandela led the nation out of white-minority rule and into democracy. NATO is mapping out “land corridors” to enable US troops and other allied forces to reach the front lines quicker in the event of a broader European ground war with Russia. The move follows warnings from NATO leaders earlier this year urging Western governments to prepare themselves for a full-blown war with Russia sometime in the next 20 years. The newly established troop expressways would see American soldiers landing at one of five designated ports. They would then be deployed along pre-established routes depending on how a potential attack by Moscow would play out, NATO officials told The Telegraph.
