The temporary piers established at President Biden’s order have run way over budget and caused several issues since USAID commenced deliveries, leading some lawmakers to question the value of the operation. "At the end of the day, it's unnecessarily putting our people in harm's way. It's costing a lot. It's pulling assets that should be used elsewhere, and I just don't think it's going to accomplish anything near what he's promised," Rep. Michael Waltz, R-Fla., told Fox News Digital in an interview.

Facebook is deploying so-called “fact-checkers” to run interference for the FBI after it was revealed the agency authorized the use of “deadly force” against former President Trump during its 2022 raid on his Mar-a-Lago estate.

President Biden repeated a claim about turning down an appointment to the U.S. Naval Academy, where he purportedly wanted to play football, during his commencement address at West Point on Saturday. Biden told West Point graduates that Republican Sen. J. Caleb Boggs, whom he defeated to become a U.S. senator, had "appointed" him to the Naval Academy years before they ran against each other in 1972.
The president recounted that before his interview, "I found out two days earlier they had a quarterback named Roger Staubach, and a halfback named Joe Bellino. And I said, I'm not going there. I went to Delaware. Not a joke."

When I was in fifth grade, my teacher was Sister Mary Concepción. In ancient times, there was one classroom, one teacher, and 35 hellions that the elderly sister had to handle.
With a combination of a ruler and a stare that could freeze Icarus, she taught us many things. She taught us how to read the right way, how to think critically, how to write to be understood, and how math infused our daily lives.
Sister Concepción was an Irish immigrant. She came to America at a time when the Irish were discriminated against. "No Irish need apply" signs were everywhere.

The same day the Biden administration and European Union offered their condolences over the death of Iran's President Ebrahim Raisi, the "Butcher of Tehran," the chief prosecutor of the International Criminal Court, Karim Khan, sought the arrest of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and other Israeli war council members over imaginary war crimes.
The first question we need to ask is: Karim Khan and what army?
It's not worth taking a deep dive into the intricacies of law and war, because Hamas does not recognize any moral or legal restrictions on warfare and the ICC has no real jurisdiction over anyone, anyway. Khan says, "Nobody is above the law."

How unbelievable is this? Did you ever expect that IDF combat soldiers would make history in such a way? This is pretty cool, to say the least.
And what message does it send to our enemies? That the Jewish people continue to live and build families. We continue to bring more good in this world and spread joy despite all that our enemies try to do to us and take away from us. They try to destroy us, and we create more life. They try to break us, and we build more. Hamas and the rest of the Jewish people’s enemies represent death, and the Jewish people represent life.

Voters worry more about President Joe Biden’s inflationary and open border policies than former President Donald Trump’s abortion policy, Cook Report/BSG/GS Strategy Group polling confirmed Thursday.
The polling appears to confirm that Trump’s immigration and economic messages sabotage and undermine the attraction of Biden’s most popular 2024 issue, health care, and thus essentially diminish Biden’s political appeal. Abortion is a state issue, Trump’s policy essentially dictates, while Biden believes it is a federal issue. Biden holds higher approval marks on the question of abortion, but his approval of abortion does not outweigh Trump’s popular economic and immigration policies, the poll found.

Follow the money.
Scientists get their funds cut off if they tell the truth that the climate has changed cyclically and naturally.
Why did the media and other Democrats shut people up on COVID and do what teachers unions want?
Again, follow the money. The got federal funds for endorsing their positions, despite the harm their positions were doing to the economy and to schoolchildren.
They sure didn't care about science or the kids.

The Biden Administration’s recent announcement of tariffs, and other protectionist measures aimed at China, is the latest increase of economic tensions and search for political momentum. The White House moves may have increased the saliency of trade as an issue, but the ignition was the December announcement of U.S. Steel’s agreement to be acquired by another publicly traded company, Japanese-based Nippon Steel.
Aside of what strategic approach toward China is best, the U.S. Steel acquisition agreement illustrates how protectionist rhetoric, including the supposed defense of jobs, does not match economic reality. Similarly, the national security rationale is a thin smokescreen meant to scare Americans with borderline jingoism rather than facts.

A U.N. court’s order that Israel halt its offensive in the southern Gaza city of Rafah has deepened a disconnect with the United States over a military operation that faces mounting international condemnation but that American officials describe, at least for now, as limited and targeted.
The decision Friday by the International Court of Justice in The Hague adds to the pressure facing an increasingly isolated Israel, coming just days after Norway, Ireland and Spain said they would recognize a Palestinian state, and the chief prosecutor of a separate international court sought arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu as well as leaders of Hamas.

No one really knows how many Americans regularly carry handguns, concealed or openly. The number of concealed carry licenses doesn’t tell the tale, particularly since 29 states are now “constitutional carry states.” Unless otherwise prohibited by law, Americans need no license to carry concealed weapons in those states. As I recently noted here at AT, some 36 states allow open carry.
We do know that April was the 57th consecutive month of more than one million gun sales. It’s reasonable to believe tens of millions of Americans regularly carry, and most don’t advertise the fact. But why should anyone carry? :

The California Senate passed a bill that would ban parental notification for gender changes in public TK-12 and provide more resources to increase parental support of LGBTQ pupils. While parents broadly support disclosure rules and have approved them in many school districts, state leaders, including the attorney general — who has supported lawsuits against districts with disclosure rules — say these efforts harm transgender children.
In the past year, school districts across California have adopted measures requiring parents to be notified if their children request to officially change their pronouns, go by a different name, or use facilities or school programs for children of the opposite gender.

Former Reagan speechwriter Peggy Noonan penned a quite insightful opinion piece years back in the Wall Street Journal. She discussed how it was de rigueur for Democrats to always drop into their rhetoric the deep concern they have for the poor; you know, the huddled masses yearning to be free.
The phrase “virtue signaling” had not come into full vogue at that time, but that's exactly what it was.
What do we mean by virtue signaling? It is when individuals or groups conspicuously exhibit their point of view on social issues. To be frank, virtue signaling is a non-taxing exercise

How might we change the premise of Social Security to make it fully funded, more equitable, and sustainable indefinitely?
Social Security is societal insurance, not an individual retirement plan. It’s intended to protect individuals against income loss due to retirement, disability, or death. It supports disabled individuals, survivors, and children and reduces poverty.
Social Security protects taxpayers across American society. Without Social Security, millions would face poverty, straining families and state and local governments, increasing inequality, and destabilizing the economy.

President Joe Biden made an eyebrow-raising comment about his former boss, President Barack Obama.
During a prominent dinner with Kenyan President William Ruto and First Lady Rachel Ruto, Biden appeared to pull out the race card, leaving the audience confused. CNN's Ana Navarro has criticized fellow Latinos who support Donald Trump, labeling their attitudes towards immigration as 'very stupid.'
Navarro suggested that some Latino immigrants seem to forget their own roots and mistakenly believe that being anti-immigrant will help them assimilate better into American society.
Speaking on CNN on Friday night, the anti-Trump Republican expressed her frustration with such a mindset, saying it only serves to highlight how it contributes to a divisive atmosphere.

Dasha Burns of NBC News was at the Trump rally in the Bronx and spoke to black and Latino voters about why they were there and why they supported Trump.
She appeared on one of the network’s morning shows today to report her findings and she seemed surprised that the support for Trump that she witnessed at the event was completely genuine.
She noted that many of the people in attendance were immigrants who are angry about the open border and New York City’s giveaways to illegals.

The Libertarian Party’s national convention was thrown into chaos after delegates clashed heads over former President Donald Trump’s visit on Saturday.
Trump was invited to speak at the party’s national convention on May 25, a decision which the “vast majority” of the Libertarian Party’s members were not thrilled with Bill Redpath, a former national party chairman, told Politico.“The vast majority of Libertarian Party members are not happy with this invitation,” Redpath told the outlet. “There are some people who call Trump the most Libertarian president of our lifetimes. That’s utterly ridiculous.”
Billionaire financier and Republican Party donor Jeff Yass described Trump as having “some libertarian instincts.”

The Biden administration is crediting strengthened border enforcement and a crackdown by the Mexican government on migrants traveling to the U.S. for a drastic drop in illegal southern border crossings in recent months.
But Republicans argue that the border crisis has not abated. They argue instead that the administration is playing a shell game, using “unlawful mass-parole programs” to send migrants to ports of entry and then letting them into the country “often with little or no vetting.”
According to a report from CBS News, over the first three weeks of May, U.S. Border Patrol agents apprehended about 3,700 migrants per day between official
