California could be a much nicer place to live if some of the progressives who run the place would stop trying their best to make everything more expensive. California has had blackouts and despite this came close to shutting down its last nuclear reactor. In 2022, Gov. Newsom finally had second thoughts on that after the Biden administration offered a boatload of money to reverse course and keep the last reactor running.
But despite moments of lucidity, the state and the governor seem determined to set the state's next energy crisis in motion. Last year the state passed a bill called SBX1-2 which was brandished by

Lola is the title of a song released by The Kinks in 1970.
The song chronicles the romantic misadventures between a young man and a transgendered woman named Lola who, "walked like a woman but talked like a man.”
Lola may provide a surprise in the bedroom or in a London nightclub, inspiration for the song, but such surprises are most unwelcome, and unfair, on the athletic field.
Such sports stories have become all too common, representative of the new normal of our gender-confused culture where athletic organizations, high schools, and colleges don’t seem able to distinguish between boys and girls or men and women.
This latest slap to female athletes comes from Oregon,

Donald Trump’s resilience in the polls as he endures the bogus trial in Manhattan has befuddled the political left.
"Why isn't Trump's trial hurting him?” leftists ask. They can’t understand it because they’re so blinded by their hatred for Trump that they can’t see that his legal troubles don't stem from a fair justice system but a biased system motivated by politics. The polls prove it as they show that the public believes the criminal charges are politically motivated.
The Biden campaign is panicking about the situation and decided to revise its strategy of largely ignoring the trial to sending actor Robert DeNiro to the Manhattan courthouse to troll Trump.

After spending nearly $400 million to construct a "humanitarian pier" in the Gaza Strip, which President Joe Biden announced during his State of the Union address in March, the formerly floating nightmare is sinking into the sea and operations have been suspended. (X) Last week the pier broke apart and washed up on the beach in Israel. Republican Congressman Michael Waltz called it "FUBAR." (Snip) Shortly after the pier broke apart the Pentagon admitted all of the aid distributed from the floating location, which has repeatedly come under attack by Hamas, was stolen by the terrorist organization. The White House has not officially weighed in on the disaster.

The same day the Biden administration and European Union offered their condolences over the death of Iran's President Ebrahim Raisi, the "Butcher of Tehran," the chief prosecutor of the International Criminal Court, Karim Khan, sought the arrest of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and other Israeli war council members over imaginary war crimes.
The first question we need to ask is: Karim Khan and what army?
It's not worth taking a deep dive into the intricacies of law and war, because Hamas does not recognize any moral or legal restrictions on warfare and the ICC has no real jurisdiction over anyone, anyway. Khan says, "Nobody is above the law."

Happy Friday, Gentle Readers (Snip) The Post Millennial notes that an 18-year-old Florida woman was surprised to find out that she was pregnant after being intimate with her boyfriend. Time magazine originally reported the story under this headline: "His Pregnancy Came as a Shock. Florida's Abortion Law Made it Harder.” Yes, you read that correctly. Jasper is a woman who identifies as a man. She has been taking testosterone, which gave her a deeper voice and facial hair and decreased her menstruation. It, of course, did not turn her into a man. She still had all of her original equipment and was perfectly capable of conceiving a child.

I've always found it difficult to understand how anyone who runs a business can support Democrats and their burdensome policies and regulations, yet many do and some industries in particular are the worst offenders. Well, it appears now that some are starting to wake up
Silicon Valley investors, who have historically displayed staunch support for Democratic candidates, are bucking the trend this year by shifting allegiance away from President Biden and openly embracing former President Donald Trump.
It's a bit of a surprising twist in this year's election, yet, completely understandable if you ask me.

We are in the throes of silly season regarding sports. Harrison Butker is being raked over the coals over nothing. Caitlin Clark is being trashed by other female basketball players for being a good ambassador of the game. And the world’s number one ranked golfer was arrested for allegedly plowing over a police officer en route to the PGA Championship in Valhalla Golf Club in Louisville, Kentucky. Scottie Scheffler was led away in handcuffs in the early morning hours on May 17 for “second-degree assault of a police officer, third-degree criminal mischief, reckless driving, and disregarding traffic signals from an officer directing traffic.”

Former Reagan speechwriter Peggy Noonan penned a quite insightful opinion piece years back in the Wall Street Journal. She discussed how it was de rigueur for Democrats to always drop into their rhetoric the deep concern they have for the poor; you know, the huddled masses yearning to be free.
The phrase “virtue signaling” had not come into full vogue at that time, but that's exactly what it was.
What do we mean by virtue signaling? It is when individuals or groups conspicuously exhibit their point of view on social issues. To be frank, virtue signaling is a non-taxing exercise

The Donald Trump New York City farce is on the way to being over. The prosecution (at least) rested after what would’ve been a disastrous performance by Michael Cohen in any other trial, but the standard rules don’t apply here because this is not actually a trial. This trial has nothing to do with law. It is a scummy attempt to frame a political opponent of the Democrats to keep him from winning an election against the desiccated old pervert in the White House. Normally, a jury would laugh this case out of court, except that it would never have been in court had the defendant been named Tronald Dump.
