A New Hampshire Democrat cradled her week-old daughter while defending a proposed state constitutional amendment to enshrine abortion rights up to 24 weeks and allow the procedure beyond that when deemed medically necessary.
"I stand here today as one of the millions of people who has had an abortion. When I was a teenager, I accessed abortion care that has allowed me to go to college, to graduate school, to receive an M.Ed., to teach, and to be a state representative," the amendment's sponsor, Rep. Amanda Toll, D-Keene, said during a floor debate last week.

Behind the scenes, the White House reportedly pressured special counsel Robert Hur to take passages out of his report that discuss President Joe Biden’s memory and physical state, according to Politico. (snip) Ahead of the release of the report, the White House was reportedly in the dark about what the final copy would say but hoped their efforts to reach Hur ahead of its release would force edits, Politico reported.
“Hur did not indicate whether he would make any changes,” a person familiar with the process told Politico.

A review of 60 studies of the mental health of transgender-identifying youth found that “there is no long-term evidence that current ‘gender affirming’ medication and surgical protocols benefit their mental well-being,” according to a group representing pediatricians.
The American College of Pediatricians issued a position statement on Wednesday opposing the gender transitioning of youth based on the literature review. It comes just after a watchdog group filed a scientific integrity complaint against Department of Health and Human Services official Rachel Levine for claiming that “there is no argument among medical professionals regarding “the value and the importance of gender-affirming care.”

On Sunday, Joe Biden claimed that in 2021, he had a conversation with François Mitterrand, who was president of France from 1981 to 1995 and died in 1996. (snip) On Wednesday, Biden told the same story again, this time apparently thinking that he had spoken with German Chancellor Helmut Kohl—who died in 2017.
And he made the same mistake twice, at two different events. (snip)
No wonder Biden isn't doing the Super Bowl interview.

Disney fans battered by inflation are hitting the “Cancel” button in droves.
The Disney+ streaming service lost 1.3 million subscribers worldwide during the last three months of 2023 as a steep price hike took a toll on fans’ wallets. In the U.S. and Canada alone, the streamer bid goodbye to 400,000 customers — Disney+’s largest-ever reported domestic decline.
The drop represents a major hit for Disney, which has been pouring billions of dollars into its streaming services without yet reaching profitability.

The Fani Willis side show in Donald Trump's Georgia election trial is the gift that keeps on giving. (snip) While the Fulton County DA claimed that her relationship with Nathan Wade didn't begin until after she paid him all that taxpayer money - despite the fact that Wade filed for divorce the day after he was hired.
According to a new filing, "witnesses will testify" that Wade "cohabitated with Ms. Willis at an AirBNB in Hapeville that was paid for by tax payer money" which served as a "safe house" for their relationship, which began in 2019 - three years before Willis and Wade said it began.

A fourth co-defendant in the Georgia case against former president Donald Trump has filed a motion for the court to disqualify embattled District Attorney Fani Willis. (snip) The court filing Monday references when Willis first addressed the affair allegations in January during remarks she made at Bethel AME Church in Atlanta. The far-left New York magazine’s Vulture is crying racism over Taylor Swift’s triumph at the Grammy Awards on Sunday, noting that Swift’s win for album of the year means she “now has more wins in the category than all Black [sic] women combined.”
Vulture played the race card in a post-show analysis — while Taylor Swift has won the top Grammy prize four times, only three black women have won the award — Natalie Cole in 1992, Whitney Houston in 1994, and Lauryn Hill in 1999. (snip) Vulture failed to note that multiple black men have won Grammy’s album of the year award, including Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder, Lionel Richie,
