Former Gov. Larry Hogan (R) announced on Friday that he’s launching a surprise bid for the open Maryland Senate seat, despite speculation that he was considering a third-party presidential bid.
“We desperately need leaders willing to stand up to both parties — leaders that appreciate that no one of us has all the answers or all the power, because this is not just about the differences between the right and the left. This is about the difference between right and wrong,” Hogan said in an ad launching his Senate bid posted on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter. Hogan is planning to file paperwork ahead

What?? You thought these blood sucking ticks ever think about just going away, and enjoying their (allegedly) ill gotten gains?

"Though he closed the door on running on the Republican side last year, he suggested he hadn’t completely ruled out the idea of getting in on the lucrative insider trading frenzy alive and well in congress. Not to mention the juicy lucre that can be had by milking donors for all they're worth as a consolation prize", said Hogan in a brief moment of candor.

I don't know how I feel about this. He could win. He was a relatively popular governor; however, he was popular because he was a never Trumper in a state populated by government workers and companies that service the government. He did some good things as a Republican governor. If elected however, he will not always go along with the Trump agenda but will give the Republicans one more senator. It's sort of a crap shoot. If a demoslut is elected, you can count on never getting that person to vote for anything Trump wants, but with Hogan, there's a chance he'll go along and vote for some of Trump's agenda.

I'm not a huge fan of Hogan but I hate to see Dim candidates run for critical offices with only token opposition. They all need to be challenged and Hogan is probably one of the few R's in Maryland who will get some attention.

I'm not a Maryand voter, so I don't have a dog in this fight. But if I were, I'd probably hold my nose and vote for Larry. He'd be an advantage over any of the two Dem Senators they now have.
But that ain't saying much. The stray dog running around the neighborhood would be a better Senator that those two.

"Well,he is an "R" which is better than a "D".
It is that line of thinking that gave us twelve years of Bush Republicanism(open borders, devolution of and export of our economy,Religion of Peace) crap sandwiches.
No more "luke warm" career politicians who are bribed, blackmailed or otherwise owned by outside interests.
And enough of the cheerleading for such soulless creatures of the dark recesses of power...

We are plagued with Rinos and weaklings because we fail to define ourselves, or we've allowed the Left to define us by our most wacko far edge. (yes, we have them, as the Left has their fringe). But the older I get, the more isolationist, libertaian, independent I get. I'll never be D, but I'm off the R thing.

Picking up a senate seat from the Democrat Socialist Republic of Maryland should be welcomed, even if he is a RINO. Having control of the senate after this election is a high priority .

Someone all the Republican insiders can get behind. He is one of their own. No campaign shortages for him! Heck! Even Soros will throw a few bucks his way.

Hogan may be a rino, but he's still better than David Troll or the feminazi also in the race. Troll actually began running ads on the very day after last year's election, which I found excessively obnoxious.

Republicans will always be a minority party if they can't figure out that a rino is preferable to progressive democrat in a state where a conservative will never win.
