A mob of over 100 looters fresh off a street takeover smashed a Kia Soul through the door of a 48-year-old Compton bakery around 3 a.m. Tuesday and proceeded to rob just about anything they could get their hands on and vandalize the place. Street takeovers have become a serious problem in recent years in Los Angeles County, which Compton is a part of. At least six people died during or near street takeovers in 2022. The Kia had been involved in a pursuit earlier in the day. The mob, which mostly seemed to consist of young people, showed zero concern for the owners of the bakery

Netflix unveiled a movie last month called Leave the World Behind that was about as subtle as an Antifa-thrown brick through a windshield: societal chaos and global disaster are heading our way. Filled with Hollywood heavyweights (Julia Roberts, Mahershala Ali, Ethan Hawke, and Kevin Bacon — with Ali apparently taking over a role originally meant for Denzel Washington) and directed by Sam Esmail (the auteur behind the award-winning Mr. Robot), the stylish production was certainly meant to get people’s attention. Where, Prince Andrew, is all your promised help? The latest document dump in the Jeffrey Epstein child sex trafficking case includes the names of very powerful, prominent people — Bill Clinton among them, of whom Epstein reportedly said, 'Clinton likes them young'. Clinton himself claims to have no knowledge of Epstein's 'terrible crimes'. Also mentioned in this latest trove: Prince Andrew. Before we get into all that, let's recall the Prince's statement in 2019, about two months after Epstein's suicide. 'I continue to unequivocally regret my ill-judged association with Jeffrey Epstein', Andrew said — an association that began in 1999, continued long after Epstein pleaded guilty in 2008 to soliciting an underage prostitute,

Virginia Roberts-Giuffre claimed that Bill Clinton marched into the offices of Vanity Fair and demanded the magazine halt planned publication of a story about Jeffrey Epstein, newly-released court documents show. Roberts-Giuffre's claim was made in a May 2011 email discussing an interview to promote her planned book. She said Clinton 'walked into VF and threatened them not to write sex-trafficking articles about his good friend JE'. There is no evidence for her wild claim, and it seems highly unlikely that the former president would intervene in such a public way. Harvard President Claudine Gay’s recent testimony before the U.S. Congress and subsequent exposure of her academic history have revealed much about the true nature and purpose of the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) ideology. The most significant “A-ha!” moment from le affair Gay is that DEI only “works” in noncompetitive environments such as government and academia. The principles of “diversity” and “equity” implicitly assume that entities and organizations will continue along their current trajectory regardless of who’s in charge. DEI discounts merit, ability, and leadership and assumes as a matter of ideological gospel that “diversity” will more than make up for their loss.

Just as President Joe Biden starts showering hundreds of billions more of taxpayers’ money to “electrify” the nation’s fleet of automobiles, the bottom is falling out of the EV market. The latest indication is the sharp drop in prices for used EVs. A report from iSeeCars.com, a search engine for auto buyers, found that the average price for all cars declined 5% in 2023 compared with 2022. But the resale price EVs plunged 33%. While a used EV sold for an average of $52,821 in 2022, it went for less than $35,000 in 2023,

Mayor Eric Adams took a moment to brag Wednesday — that New York City isn’t as bad as Los Angeles. “This is another city in America,” Hizzoner proclaimed to a room full of reporters Wednesday afternoon, holding up a picture of a packed homeless encampment in LA’s infamous Skid Row neighborhood. “This is what I saw when I drove around the city January 1st, 2022. This is an example of another city in America.” Adams flashed the tragic scene while touting the Big Apple’s year-end crime stats, which show overall crime across Gotham dropped slightly in 2023 — down 0.3% — compared to the year prior.

Jeffrey Epstein once said that former President Bill Clinton “likes them young,” a victim of the dead sex offender testified in a deposition unsealed Wednesday — part of a trove of long-sealed court documents that began to be made public. The files, which name more than 170 Epstein associates — such as Clinton, former President Donald Trump and Prince Andrew — were ordered released by Manhattan federal Judge Loretta Preska last month and contain a gross accusation of inappropriate touching by the disgraced British royal. They were filed in a since-settled defamation lawsuit that Epstein accuser Virginia Roberts Giuffre brought against the late sicko’s madam, Ghislaine Maxwell, in 2015.

As the decisions disqualifying former President Donald Trump from the 2024 election work their way through the courts, a new filing in Pennsylvania seeks the same “ballot cleansing” by barring Rep. Scott Perry. It’s only the latest effort targeting congressional candidates as Democrats seek to bar opponents as “insurrectionists” for questioning the election of President Biden. We have become a nation of Madame Defarges — eagerly knitting names of those to be subject to arbitrary justice. Former congressional candidate Gene Stilp, who’s made headlines by burning MAGA flags with swastikas outside courthouses, filed the challenge. Using the 14th Amendment to disqualify candidates like Perry is consistent with Stilp’s signature flag-burning stunts.

Jack Smith’s appointment as special counsel might be in trouble. The U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit advised counsels in Smith’s criminal case against Trump to be prepared during previously scheduled January 9 oral arguments to address issues raised in briefs filed by amicus curiae. The court made the announcement after an explosive amicus brief filed by attorneys for former Attorney General Ed Meese arguing that Jack Smith’s appointment as special counsel by U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland is unconstitutional and so the court must reject his prosecution against Trump.

“You broke my heart.” That’s what former Marvel Entertainment chairman and CEO Ike Perlmutter said to Bob Iger, according to The Wall Street Journal, when Iger made it clear in 2015 that he was not going to name veteran Disney executive and Perlmutter favorite Jay Rasulo as his eventual successor. (He anointed Tom Staggs instead, and Staggs was out the following year. Being a potential successor was hazardous duty at Disney, at least in those days.) Iger’s relationship with Perlmutter went sharply downhill from there and last March, after incrementally stripping Perlmutter of his duties at Marvel, Iger ejected the contentious billionaire from the company altogether.
