Former President Donald Trump has petitioned the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit to have Special Counsel Jack Smith’s federal indictment claiming he conspired to overturn the 2020 election tossed out on Constitutional grounds.
Attorney John D. Sauer argued in a 55-page briefing to the court that, as president, Trump’s actions were protected under our governmental system.
“Under our system of separated powers, the judicial branch cannot sit in judgment over a president’s official acts,” Sauer wrote, according to the Daily Mail. “That doctrine is not controversial.”

The lengths to which Democrats will go to toe the progressive line never ceases to amaze. Things like tradition and normalcy are not only cast aside but are treated as if they never existed in the first place. Vice President Kamala Harris, ever the producer of awkward public proclamations, illustrated that dynamic perfectly on Sunday evening. It wasn't just any Sunday evening, of course. Rather, it was December 24th, otherwise known to essentially all human beings as Christmas Eve. Well, unless you're Kamala Harris. Then it's some mishmash of holidays that shall not be named. Former Director of National Intelligence John Ratcliffe joined Maria Bartiromo this morning on Sunday Morning Futures.
During their conversation John Ratcliffe had the opportunity to weigh in on Jack Smith’s rejection this week by the Supreme Court.
This was brutal. The hitman is exposed!
John Ratcliffe: Stating the obvious, this was a big legal victory for President Trump and a big legal setback for Jack Smith. But I would argue that Jack Smith lost more than just a legal issue at the Supreme Court. He lost credibility. This may be his Mueller moment.

An economist has warned that an 'everything' bubble is going to burst next year prompting the 'biggest crash in our lifetimes.'
Harry Dent claims the effects of the crash will 'be obvious' by May and will slow the economy for over a decade.
He told Fox Digital: 'If I'm right, it is going to be the biggest crash of our lifetime, most of it happening in 2024'Since 2009, this has been 100 percent artificial, unprecedented money printing and deficits; $27 trillion over 15 years, to be exact. This is off the charts, 100 percent artificial, which means we're in a dangerous state.'

Former Vice President Al Gore said Sunday on CNN’s “State of the Union” that if the climate continues to warm, we “would lose our capacity for self-governance.”
Anchor Jake Tapper asked, “What happens if the world doesn’t react? What’s the worst-case scenario?” Gore said, “The scientist who has warned us of these mega-storms and the floods and mudslides and droughts and the ice melting and the sea level rising and the storms getting stronger and the tropical diseases and climate and migrants crossing international borders in large numbers. They were dead right when they warned us about this, and so we need to pay more attention to them now.”

Sen. Susan Collins (R-Maine) is putting together legislation to require the U.S. military to adhere to state-level red and yellow flag laws for troops.
A red flag law allows family, friends, and others, to seek a court order to have guns removed from someone they view as a danger to himself or others. A yellow flag law is more narrow, allowing law enforcement to seek the court order for firearm removal.Collins bill comes in response to the October 25, 2023, Lewiston, Maine, attacks, which were carried out by a member of the U.S. Army Reserve. The attacker used a sniper rifle which was legally purchased.

Bethlehem, West Bank— The normally bustling biblical birthplace of Jesus resembled a ghost town on Sunday, as Christmas Eve celebrations in Bethlehem were called off due to the Israel-Hamas war.
The festive lights and Christmas tree that normally decorate Manger Square were missing, as were the throngs of foreign tourists and jubilant youth marching bands that gather in the West Bank town each year to mark the holiday. Dozens of Palestinian security forces patrolled the empty square.
“This year, without the Christmas tree and without lights, there’s just darkness,” said Brother John Vinh, a Franciscan monk from Vietnam who has lived in Jerusalem for six years.

Some may wonder whether President Joe Biden or whichever White House staffer runs his social media accounts was confused about which holiday it is but a Saturday post to X, formerly Twitter, read like an April Fool’s Day prank.
An authoritarian demagogue who is the most divisive leader in the nation’s history, Biden took to the platform on Saturday to tout the wonders of bipartisanship and in a reheated serving of leftover malarkey from the 2020 campaign trail, talked of national unity despite his regime’s efforts to lock away his top political opponent in prison and his continual demonizing of tens of millions of Americans who didn’t vote for him

Former President Donald Trump is no stranger to controversial statements. They are practically his stock-in-trade, after all. But in a recent interview with Hugh Hewitt, he made a statement that is causing some raised eyebrows, namely, that Kamala Harris may well be a better President than Joe Biden. And, from a certain point of view, he may be right.Former President Trump claimed Friday that Vice President Harris would do a better job leading the White House than President Biden.
Pressed by conservative radio host Hugh Hewitt on whether a vote for Biden would be equal to one for Harris, Trump said “I think so.” Though, he added,

In just over two minutes, the story of a man puttering around in his tool shed will reduce many of us to a sobbing mess. So, here's your warning in advance: have that box of tissues at the ready! RedState is no stranger to the magic of emotional Christmas season commercials. Readers might still remember the one my colleague Joe Cunningham shared in 2022 from Chevy. And Chevy followed it up in 2023 with this one, via Nick Arama. It tells the story of a family dealing with the scourge of Alzheimer's, and how a daughter lovingly makes sure that her mother and father have a wonderful Christmas together.

President Joe Biden has helped break records this year at the United States-Mexico border. In particular, Biden’s Department of Homeland Security (DHS) oversaw record illegal immigration, again, to the U.S. in 2023.
1. 5,000 Illegal Aliens Released Daily
According to private testimony from DHS officials given to House and Senate committees this month, the agency is releasing about 5,000 illegal aliens every day from the border into American communities.
Put another way, Biden’s DHS is releasing about 150,000 illegal aliens into the U.S. interior every month — the equivalent of adding ten Martha’s Vineyards to the country every 30 days.
