Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) will run the House Elected Leadership Committee and will eliminate the chairmanship role, the Washington Examiner learned Monday.
The shake-up is the latest example of Johnson making leadership moves in his two weeks on the job, succeeding Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-CA), who was ousted on Oct. 3 by a small group of GOP rebels. Under McCarthy, the Elected Leadership Committee was led by Rep. Garret Graves (R-LA), who was not in elected leadership. However, Graves, a staunch ally of McCarthy, was tasked with leading the meetings and acted as the point man for the former speaker.

In an attempt to mock House Speaker Mike Johnson’s effort to keep his family free of the ubiquitous pornography, Left-wing media outlets mocked Johnson — a devout Evangelical Christian — after a clip from 2022 revealed that he and his teenage son both used Covenant Eyes, an app that monitors pornography, making themselves accountable to each other to keep away from the content.
“Speaker of the House Mike Johnson admitted that he and his son monitored each other’s porn intake in a resurfaced clip from 2022,” Rolling Stone wrote.

The Israeli military says it has completely encircled Gaza City after more than a week of heavy fighting, in effect severing the territory into two, as Israeli ground troops appeared poised to enter the dense urban sprawl from the south.
What seemed to be the beginning of the second stage of the Israeli ground operation was accompanied by a barrage of 16 rockets fired from southern Lebanon towards the Israeli city of Haifa on Monday afternoon. The rocket fire, for which Hamas claimed responsibility, reached the farthest distance of any projectiles from the Lebanese side of the border fired by either the Palestinian militant group or Hezbollah, the Iran-backed Lebanese militia

The terrifying reality of life on San Francisco's drug-ravaged streets has been laid bare by one life-long resident who filmed her walk to work through scenes that have made the city an international by-word for squalor and despair.
Tiktoker Freqmeek captured the pre-dawn horror as she gingerly picked her way through dozens of desperate addicts in the city's Tenderloin district.
Some are hunched against the cold while others are too intoxicated to care as cars and buses try to steer a path through unconscious addicts sprawled across the road for hundreds of yards.

News surfaced over the weekend that a daycare center in Germany would be removing Anne Frank's name at the behest of "parents with migrant backgrounds." Frank is, of course, one of the most well-known victims of the Holocaust, and her diary is considered to be an important documentation of the plight of European Jews during World War II.
The "Anne Frank" daycare center in Tangerhütte, Germany, which has reportedly been in operation for decades, will be getting the name change because, according to the daycare center's director, "parents with migrant backgrounds feel uncertain about the name and find it challenging to explain to their children."

Donald Trump’s courtroom decorum has began to break down as the former president began yelling and attacking the judge and the attorney general from the witness stand.
Trump had been testifying for the past roughly two hours in hushed tones until he became visibly agitated, speaking loudly saying that the Justice Arthur Engoron and New York Attorney General Letitia James were “trying to hurt” him.

Between Sunday and Monday, the major broadcast networks of ABC, CBS, and NBC used their flagship morning and evening newscasts to start a new week of anti-Israel smears and siding with Hamas terrorists as Tuesday marks one month since the latter’s animalistic barbarism murdered at least 1,400 innocents and resulted in over 200 hostages. This time, the networks argued the world’s “recoiling in horror” at Israel’s ‘search and destroy mission” that’s “shattering...lives” in Gaza and Israel remaining still “not” being in a “mood to compromise” with Hamas. In 1953, the Swiss novelist Max Frisch published a play called The Arsonists. It's a pitch dark comedy about a small town ravaged by a group of maniacs disguised as traveling salesmen, who sweet-talk their way into people's homes and then set them on fire. Its protagonist is a dolt called Biedermann—bieder being German for honest, respectable, and upright. He's aware of the danger, and yet, when the arsonists knock, he lets them in. The tragedy, Frisch argues, is that he almost has no other choice: The arsonists are such smooth talkers that it's easy, when listening to them, to ignore the large drums of kerosene and the matches

This past weekend, America hit an important, although a bit overlooked, milestone. As of Sunday, we are exactly 366 days until the 2024 presidential election. Granted, between now and then, there is plenty of work to be done. But aside from that, as I looked at the calendar, I realized that political nerds like myself will now look at the election not just in terms of months and weeks but days. A question I, and I believe so many other Americans, have begun to ponder also popped back into my head. So I am going to ask it out loud. Can America make it to November 5, 2024?

There are certain American politicians you can depend on nearly 100% of the time to side with America's rivals, enemies, and even terrorists. Hamas-loving congresscritter Rashida Tlain (D-Mich.) is probably the most notorious example. That's why I might have been briefly taken aback — but hardly surprised — when on Friday she posted a 90-second spot sporting Hamas's genocidal slogan "from the river to the sea." That's a nifty code for "the elimination of Israel and every Jew we can find."

Peruse campus literature. Watch clips from university protests. Scan interviews with pro-Hamas protestors. Read the chalk propaganda sketched on campus sidewalks. Talk to raging students in the free speech area. And the one common denominator— besides their arrogance—is their abject ignorance. Take their following tired talking points:
“Refugees” We are told that the Palestinians after more than 75 years of residence in the West Bank and Gaza are “refugees.” If that definition were currently true, then, are the 900,000 Jews who were forcibly exiled from Muslim countries in the Middle East, North Africa, and Asia after the 1947, 1956, 1967 wars still “refugees?”

Prominent Democrats have turned on “Squad” member Representative Rashida Tlaib (D., Mich.) over her hostility to Israel and her embrace of genocidal language.
The radical progressive first faced condemnation from Democrats in Congress and her home state of Michigan after she posted a video accusing the Biden administration of being complicit in Israel’s alleged genocide against Palestinians. Tlaib said, “We will remember in 2024,” followed by the text, “Joe Biden supported the genocide of the Palestinian people.”
Instead of reversing course, Tlaib has leaned further into her anti-Israel commitments in recent days, even going so far as to defend a genocidal chant popular among pro-Palestinian protesters.

Donald Trump is again going after Judge Arthur Engoron just hours before he's set to take the stand before him in Manhattan court on Monday.
The ex-president wrote on Truth Social as he prepares to head to court to testify in the $250 million civil case alleging he fraudulently inflated the value of his business empire, which he is at risk of losing control over in the latest legal woe.
Trump said on his social media platform that the case is a way for President Joe Biden to 'cheat' in the 2024 presidential election – and took jabs at both the judge and New York Attorney General Letitia James for 'election interference.'

A new report says that 13 employees of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA), which is responsible for Palestinian refugees, praised the Hamas terror attack of October 7, in which more than 1,400 people were murdered in Israel.
U.S. President Donald Trump ended funding to the agency in 2018 over concern that it supported terrorism. But President Joe Biden restored the funding. The U.S. is the single largest donor to the agency, which is separate from other UN refugee agencies.

SAN FRANCISCO — The Northern District of California courthouse where David DePape will stand trial this week is unfriendly territory. The conspiracy-obsessed man charged in the hammer attack on the husband of former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi in their hilltop mansion faces decades in prison. The trial venue is two miles from the couple’s home, in a courthouse named for the longtime congressperson’s mentor and in a city where she won her last election with overwhelming support. “Nancy Pelosi is a loved and revered public servant in San Francisco,” noted Valery Nechay, a local criminal trial attorney who is following

Billionaire philanthropist and former New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg pledged $500 million in September toward shifting electricity production in the United States to wind and solar energy and shutting down its coal- and gas-fired plants. However, some experts say that Bloomberg’s millions, together with the billions being spent by the Biden administration, are paving a road to ruin. The donation from Bloomberg Philanthropies,

This is an essay about surviving. We should be living our lives today with an expectation that something bad will soon happen. That feeling should not dominate our existence or preclude us from pursuing rich and joyful lives, but it should keep us mentally vigilant and physically prepared before disaster strikes. In this Obama-Biden America of open borders, out-of-control violent crime, economic fragility, and international provocations, it is only a matter of time before conflicts abroad become conflicts at home. It is vitally important to keep your head on a swivel.

Borders are “real or artificial lines that separate geographic areas,” according to National Geographic. They describe the purpose of borders - “to keep out invaders,” to “keep citizens in,” or to “protect resources.”
How is the U.S. border doing on these accounts?
Who is coming into America? Are we being invaded? What about American resources? I don’t mean minerals or timber, but taxpayer-funded resources such as food, shelter, clothing, education, and health care.
Our border is not keeping anyone in, especially virtue-signaling celebrities promising to leave America if a Republican is elected. Cher promises to leave

The media are worried about the low COVID vaccination rate as winter approaches. The lockdown lovers and mandate militants of the press are doing their best to gin up yet another round of COVID hysteria. A robust resistance is called for.
The government’s response to the coronavirus outbreak, cheered on by a legacy media that is clearly dominated by neurotics, violated fundamental liberties and caused more health problems than it solved. We were encouraged last week by a long article in New York magazine topped with the headline: “COVID Lockdowns Were a Giant Experiment. It Was a Failure.” Finally,

Former President Donald Trump holds an edge over President Joe Biden in a series of hypothetical matchups among registered voters in four key swing states, new polling from The New York Times and Siena College shows.
In Nevada, a state Biden narrowly carried in the 2020 presidential election, Trump boasts 52% support to Biden’s 41%. Trump also tops Biden in Georgia, a state that was central to his ploy to overturn the last presidential election, with 49% to Biden’s 43%.
Trump leads Biden in Arizona, too, with 49% to the president’s 44%. In Michigan, Trump holds a 5-point lead as well: 48% to Biden’s 43%.

— Embattled Rep. George Santos, R-N.Y., who survived a push to remove him from Congress by his fellow Republican colleagues and is currently facing a swath of criminal charges, said progressive Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., was his “inspiration” to get involved in politics.
“AOC was my inspiration, most people don’t know that,” Santos told CNN’s Manu Raju in an interview, referencing a common nickname for Ocasio-Cortez. “I always thought you needed to be a Kennedy, a Bush or a Clinton to be in politics. Then Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is there and it’s like, look, she’s a scrappy girl.”

A year before the presidential election, three-quarters of Americans (76%) believe the country is headed in the wrong direction and the leading Democratic and Republican candidates are viewed broadly unfavorably, according to a new ABC News/Ipsos poll. Only 23% of Americans think the country is headed in the right direction.
Republicans are overwhelmingly negative, with 95% thinking things in this country are heading in the wrong direction, followed by 76% of independents and 54% of Democrats, according to the poll.

Republican Texas representatives are demanding that the Biden administration explain its reason for changing its tune on border wall construction, according to a Wednesday letter first obtained by the Daily Caller News Foundation. Over 20 Republican lawmakers led by Rep. Chip Roy are questioning how the Biden administration came to reverse its previous promise to the delegation of lawmakers sent Wednesday to Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, according to the letter. Mayorkas initially wrote that there was an “immediate need” for such action in an Oct. 5 filing in the Federal Register initiating the construction, but quickly attempted to walk back the admission.

An ABC panel on Sunday openly discussed Joe Biden, the most popular president in US history, stepping aside and being replaced by another Democrat after a new NYT poll shows Trump leading in 5 crucial swing states.
The media has been given the green light to throw Joe Biden in the trash can.
Joe Biden is currently lagging behind Trump in five of the six most crucial battleground states as the 2024 election approaches, according to new polls by The New York Times and Siena College.
It turns out Americans aren’t happy with persistent inflation, high gas prices (Bidenomics) and wars/rumors of wars, military-aged males invading the southern border.

Mayor Eric Adams has denied any knowledge of the construction firm now under federal investigation in relation to his campaign finances.
During a television interview, Mayor Adams was directly asked if he had any association or prior involvement with the Williamsburg-based KSK Construction Group.
'Not to my knowledge,' he replied, characterizing it as one of numerous bodies that had donated to his finances. 'I am not familiar with this organization at all … It's one of the many different groups and organizations that contributes to the campaign,' Adams added.
KSK Construction is being investigated for alleged involvement in a kickback scheme with the Turkish government to funnel money

The transgender agenda will be taking center stage for some of the screen time, and one of Hollywood’s biggest liberals will be the featured performer.

In the 30 days since Hamas attacked Israel, the worst massacre since WWII in the once-civilized world, we’ve seen unprecedented antisemitism in leftist redoubts across the West. In America, on college campuses and the streets of D.C., leftists have made common cause with Muslims to demand that Palestine must be free “from the river to the sea”—which is Hamas’s poetic way of saying “Kill the Jews.” On the left, that’s virtuous. However, what’s horrifying them is that neo-Nazis are joining in their rallies. Apparently, antisemitism is only okay when your side does it.
It's difficult to convey how crazy it is to see VICE News, a popular leftist outlet,
