One of Jeffrey Epstein’s victims has died of an apparent accidental overdose, but her mother wants police to dig deeper.
Carolyn Andriano’s testimony was instrumental in convicting the sex trafficker’s partner, Ghislaine Maxwell, behind bars, and the 36-year-old mother of five was in the process of starting a new life for herself in North Carolina, The Daily Beast reports. (snip) Andriano’s mother, Dorothy Groenert, said her daughter “was ecstatic” before her death. “She was all set up for a whole new lifestyle.” (snip)
The circumstances surrounding her death don’t add up, according to Groenert, and she wants the police to keep investigating.

The charred remains were so disfigured that at first they did not realise it was two people.
But when pathologists gently began to examine, they could see the bodies were those of an adult and a child. And they were hugging tightly.
That is how it had ended for them, trapped in a room as Hamas terrorists set fire to their home. As the horror of burning to death came to them, the adult had nothing left to offer but to hold that terrified child in their arms. And as unbearable as that is, it is by no means an isolated case here at Israel's National Centre of Forensic Medicine, where the bodies

While the White House dithered around, sending Americans trapped in Israel to Cyprus and other foreign locations, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis cut through the bureaucratic red tape to fly nearly 300 Floridians home to safety on Sunday. Last week, just five days after the attack on Israel, which left thousands dead and injured, DeSantis signed an executive order “authorizing rescue operations in Israel to bring Floridians home,” according to his X post on Oct. 12. “We will not leave our residents behind. To the many Floridians who are stuck in Israel, trying to get home—help is on the way.”

WASHINGTON — President Joe Biden ‘s 2024 campaign launched an account on Donald Trump ‘s Truth Social on Monday, attempting to poke online fun at the Republican candidate he may well face again in next fall’s election.
Under the handle @BidenHQ, the campaign posted: “Well. Let’s see how this goes. Converts welcome!” It began its time on Truth Social by following just one account: Trump’s.
The former president has built a commanding early lead in the Republican primary, setting up a potential 2020 rematch, despite Trump being indicted in four separate cases and facing 91 criminal charges. Biden’s campaign noted its move on X, the social media platform formerly

Alternate headline: The common sense of the American public prevails again … perhaps surprisingly so. Mainstream-media efforts to “both sides” a genocidal slaughter of Jews on a scale not seen since WWII have apparently not worked on their consumer base, at least not so far. Demonstrations in major cities and on college campuses intending to move the needle on the war certainly didn’t work, and may well have backfired in more ways than one.
Two major-media polls released yesterday show Americans strongly supporting Israel. When it comes to Joe Biden, on the other hand, not so much.

WASHINGTON — President Joe Biden will travel to Israel this week, putting himself in harm’s way to show that he stands squarely with the country as it reels from Hamas’ surprise attack and prepares a ground invasion meant to wipe out the militant group on its border.

House Judiciary Chairman Jim Jordan (R-OH) could be on his way to becoming Speaker of the House, with the body voting at noon on Tuesday. As Townhall has so far tallied, it looks like there's 140 House Republican members publicly sharing they're supporting Jordan, or they're at least open to it. Some are still holding out, though, even bringing up the possibility of a so-called compromise candidate. It's worth emphasizing that Democrats likely won't vote for a House Republican, and so it would be Republicans doing the comprimising.

You may remember Ta Nehisi Coates as America’s most prominent literary racist until Ibram X. Kendi came around.
He’s the guy who got a ton of awards for writing in “Between the World and Me” that the police officers and firefighters who died on September 11 “were not human to me. Black, white, or whatever, they were menaces of nature; they were the fire, the comet, the storm, which could — with no justification — shatter my body.”
Now he’s taking that moral triumph and signing on to a letter, alongside Richard Ford, Molly Crabapple, China Miéville and a whole bunch of writers you don’t know, attacking Israel for bombing Hamas.

According to new filings reviewed by Fox News Digital, Bush's committee paid Merritts $12,500 for "wage expenses" between July and August. Merritts previously gathered money for security services, but the committee switched their characterization in April as they continued to bring headaches for the campaign.
The new cash follows the $30,000 Bush's campaign paid him before the third quarter.

On Saturday, Republicans won a massive victory by winning their first gubernatorial election in the state since 2011 when the state’s attorney general Jeff Landry beat his Democrat opponent. This victory is even more impressive that he won over 50 percent of the vote and managed to avoid a run-off. On Sunday morning, ABC’s Good Morning America, CBS Sunday Morning, and NBC’s Sunday Today ignored this Republican win.
Instead of reporting on Landry’s victory, the networks wasted valuable airtime with news of Best Buy discontinuing the sale of DVDs (ABC), an interview with The Rolling Stones (CBS), and an interview with Taylor Swift’s manager Jack Antonoff (NBC).

It doesn’t take long, does it?
It doesn’t take long for the ‘story’ to concentrate first and foremost on the ‘suffering’ of the Palestinians, on the worries about the electricity supply in Gaza, or for voices to be raised condemning ‘Israeli actions’.
I entered the phrase ‘Israeli victims of Hamas attack’ on a search engine. The search engine replied with these first words in its summary:
“Palestinian civilians across Gaza are struggling for survival in the face of an unprecedented Israeli operation against the territory…”
(Snip)Western powers including the US are already scolding Israel about how they should respond to the worst one-day terrorist massacre of Jews since the Holocaust.

Daniel Noboa has managed to do what his father failed at five times: Getting elected as Ecuador’s president.
And he did it Sunday on his first attempt, winning a runoff election against a leftist lawyer on the resume of a 35-year-old who belongs to the South American country’s elite, which means some schooling in the U.S., some entrepreneurial work, some dabbling in politics.
Now, he must answer the universal demand to make Ecuador safe again, which voters urged on all the candidates who originally jumped into the race amid a surge in unprecedented violence tied to drug trafficking.

Iran’s Foreign Ministry claimed Monday that Hamas was ready to release its hostages if Israel ceases its airstrikes along the Gaza Strip — as the number known to have been taken by the terrorist group rose to at least 199.
Hamas officials are “ready” to release hostages, but doing so would be “impossible” under Israeli airstrikes in the region, Iranian Foreign Ministry Nasser Kanaani relayed at a news conference in Tehran.
The terror group “stated that they are ready to take necessary measures to release the citizens and civilians held by resistant groups, but their point was that such measures require preparations that are impossible under daily bombardment by the Zionists

The 2024 Senate map offers a promising chance for the Republican Party to reclaim control of the U.S. Senate. Democrats have to defend twenty seats next November, while Republicans have to defend just eleven. It’s a more favorable map for the GOP than in 2022, raising the potential for the party to secure a comfortable margin in the Senate. It’s been clear for some time that Sen. Joe Manchin (D-W.V.) is in trouble, and new polling shows Republican candidate Jim Justice with a comfortable lead. Polls also show that Sen. John Tester (D-Mont.) is also extremely vulnerable. The Global Day of Jihad didn’t live up to its apocalyptic promise Friday.
But if it had, it’s doubtful that the FBI would have been much use, since it’s so distracted with an exaggerated domestic terrorism crisis in which conservatives are the bad guys and the Jan. 6 Capitol riot was a terrorist attack worse than 9/11. This is the “ultra-MAGA-semi-fascist” threat Joe Biden likes to rail against and that he needs for his election campaign to divide the country further, and to justify indicting his main political rival, locking up Donald Trump supporters, and imposing an Orwellian level of mass surveillance, censorship and ideological indoctrination on Americans.

Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas criticized Hamas on Sunday but then seemingly walked the comment back, when it was removed from a report in the PA’s mouthpiece news agency WAFA.
A report in WAFA initially said that Abbas told Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro that Hamas’s policies and actions “do not represent the Palestinian people,” and the Palestine Liberation Organization is the only legitimate representative of the Palestinian people. Later, that section was removed so that Hamas was no longer mentioned in the statement, which now says only that the PLO is “the sole legitimate representative of the Palestinian people, and not the policies of any other organization.”

Foreign Minister Eli Cohen has strong words for the Vatican, telling the Holy See’s Secretary for Relations with States Paul Gallagher that Israel “expects the Vatican to come out with a clear and unequivocal condemnation of the murderous terrorist actions of Hamas terrorists who harmed women, children and the elderly for the sole fact that they are Jews and Israelis.”
“It is unacceptable that you put out a statement expressing worry primarily for Gazan civilians while Israel is burying 1,300 who were murdered,” says Cohen, according to the Foreign Ministry.
Catholic officials have had a range of reactions to the October 7 massacre.

First Australia and New Zealand over the weekend, and now that it's Monday, it's another bad day to wake up a leftist.
Over in Ecuador, where an assassination took out a conservative frontrunner to its presidential race just weeks before the vote, another rightwinger stepped up to the plate to openly and directly reject socialism -- and sure enough, got elected, 52.3-47.7.
According to the Financial Times:
Daniel Noboa has won Ecuador’s presidential election as the South American country battles an unprecedented crime wave and an ailing economy. Noboa, a centre-right former lawmaker, beat leftist rival Luisa González

It has now been almost two weeks since every Democrat in the House joined eight Republicans in ousting Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) from the speaker’s office. It does not appear that House Republicans are even a single step closer to picking a new leader.
Time is running out. The temporary spending authority that triggered the Republican malcontent’s coup against McCarthy runs out in four weeks. Congressional action to authorize aid to Israel in its fight against Hamas may come before then. When those deadlines approach, the House will have to vote to give temporary powers to Speaker Pro Tempore Patrick McHenry (R-NC).

President Joe Biden potentially retained sensitive documents about the Biden family business’s involvement with foreign countries, House Oversight Committee chair James Comer (R-KY) suggested Monday in a letter to special counsel Robert Hur.
Hur, appointed by Attorney General Merrick Garland, is investigating Biden for the mishandling of classified material; this relates to his possession of documents from when he was vice president. As part of his probe, he reportedly interviewed the president last week for two hours. Comer apparently suspects Hur could possess information that links Biden’s document scandal to his family’s foreign dealings.

It's entirely understandable that most Westerners believe the current 2023 attack by Hamas on Israel is simply lust for revenge and anger over Gaza’s conditions. But, wait! Instead, it's astounding to know the ultimate impulse in Iran funding Hamas is to usher in the age of the Mahdi, as their mighty savior. This war to utterly destroy Israel is now led by Iran’s Shia Islam and seeks to bring the End of Days. So,Biden’s gift of $6 billion to Iran guaranteed war would result, given their theology. See below…

Happy Monday, dear Kruiser Morning Briefing friends. (Snip) While watching the various responses to the Hamas terrorist attacks on Israel, it’s galling to see so many educated Americans throw in with the “Pity the poor Palestinians” crowd. We spent some time last week examining the elected American officials who should know better but continue to be apologists for the dregs of humanity. Again, it shouldn’t be difficult to say that evil is, you know, evil.
We shouldn’t have to repeat that, but the world is off its meds.
To most of us, the terrorists don’t do much to sell themselves as anything but savages. They do a very effective job,

Iran has made a significant move to back away from the threat of war with Israel, which it made only Saturday. Once again, former CBS Evening News anchor Scott Pelley politely offered President Joe Biden a helpful platform to pretend he's taking the tough questions. A year ago, Pelley promoted Biden on more domestic concerns, while this was entirely about the Israel-Hamas war. The worst question was Pelley suggesting "hard-right Republicans" are making the world more dangerous with their failure to elect a new Speaker. (X) PELLEY: The president is asking for billions of dollars for Israel and Ukraine. But Congress is paralyzed. Hard-right Republicans are obstructing the election of a speaker of the house.
[To Biden]: Does the dysfunction that we've seen in Congress increase the danger in the world?

As the 2024 presidential election nears with the world on the brink of, or already in, World War Three, America must make a serious choice in 13 months. Will America course correctly or slide into bankruptcy and irrelevancy on the world stage? Perhaps the feckless Republicans need a rallying cry.
Bill Clinton had one when he ran against ruling class scion George HW Bush. “It’s the economy stupid” was a phrase James Carville coined in 1992 when he was advising Bill Clinton in his successful run for the White House.

Suzanne Somers, best remembered for her starring role in the iconic 1970s sitcom Three’s Company, has passed away at age 76. Somers leaves behind a husband and a son, and I send both of them my condolences. Her passing reminded me of the fact that Three’s Company was both a show from a much more innocent time as well as a show that paved the way for the cultural dissolution that characterizes 2023.
If you’re younger than I am, here’s the premise of Three’s Company, which debuted in 1976 and ran until 1984: Jack (John Ritter) needed a place to live.

Another precedent-setting event related to the criminal prosecution of a former president is scheduled for Monday morning in the federal courtroom of Judge Tanya S. Chutkan in Washington.
Special Counsel Jack Smith is asking Chutkan—an Obama appointee with a record of biased and often inaccurate statements about Donald Trump and the events of January 6 in general—to silence the leading GOP presidential contender on a key campaign issue through the heart of the 2024 primary season.
Smith’s prosecutors and Trump’s defense attorneys will square off during what is expected to be a fiery hearing to debate the special counsel’s proposed gag order ostensibly needed to prevent Trump

With the world’s attention still riveted by Hamas’ terrorist attacks against Israel, the death and destruction of the Russia-Ukraine war, now in its 21st month, goes on. During the conflict, President Joe Biden has put the U.S. forward as a potential peace broker. Do average Americans believe his plan is working?
To find the answer, the October I&I/TIPP Poll asked voters: “How satisfied are you with the Biden administration’s efforts to find a settlement to the Russia-Ukraine conflict?”
The response, after more than $113 billion in U.S. military and humanitarian aid, is not much.

I typically write my Townhall columns a couple of days ahead of time, and I hope that events don’t overcome this one. Why am I worried? Because what I’m writing about now is the deadly threat that our incompetent elite, led by that senile, corrupt, dust puppet masquerading as our president, have allowed to fester in our country. Last Thursday, I wrote about how the left literally wants to see you raped and murdered. Well, the left has also left the door open for the murderers. Now, half the Third World is waltzing across our southern border, and how do you think this is going to end?

I wrote earlier about a couple of the teaser clips from the "60 Minutes" interview with Joe Biden.
Those were bad, but the complete interview was even worse.
First, we should note that there was a little bit of water-carrying for Joe Biden with host Scott Pelley saying that the president was fitting them into his busy schedule on Thursday. Biden had his 10 a.m. daily briefing and a 4:30 meeting where he just had to sit and listen to CEOs, how is that busy? Maybe it's "busy" for an 80-year-old who has so many issues. But that's why he shouldn't even be there.

Reports are emerging that the Hamas terrorist group is preventing civilians from evacuating northern Gaza, killing innocent Palestinians who try to leave, and preventing American citizens from using the Rafah border crossing to escape to Egypt.

He cited both Israeli and international sources in an interview on CNN Sunday: The Times of Israel noted that Conricus expanded on that point during a question-and-answer session on Twitter/X Sunday, accusing Hamas of attacking a column of Palestinian civilians trying to evacuate, killing 70:

Thomas Jefferson, in an 1816 letter to a member of the Virginia General Assembly, made this observation: “If a nation expects to be ignorant and free, in a state of civilization, it expects what never was and never will be.” He wrote this passage to highlight the need for a system of primary schools in the Old Dominion. Eventually, the Commonwealth did establish a public school system, though Jefferson didn’t live to see it. That is just as well, perhaps. He would certainly be horrified by the ignorance of the people who attend and receive diplomas from our public schools.
