Former President Donald Trump is displaying his "sense of entitlement" by deciding to not participate in the 2024 GOP presidential primary debates, according to Florida Governor Ron DeSantis. Trump announced in a Truth Social post on Sunday that he would "not be doing" any of the Republican debates, while boasting that "the public knows who I am & what a successful Presidency I had." The former president previously indicated that he would be skipping the first debate, which is set to take place in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, on Wednesday.
The decision to skip the debates quickly drew condemnation from Trump critics

Somebody call little Ronnie a Wahhhhh-mbulance!!! Loser whining just isn't something I want to listen to.
On Wednesday night, I will be watching Donald Trump's interview. Little Ronnie will never be the Republican candidate for president.

If anybody has ever earned a rest, Trump has. Besides, he will be on Tucker's show, where all the audience will also be.

With all those candidates pile out of the clown car onto the stage, Ron may see the error in his ways.

Perhaps President Trump's refusal to participate will be the final nail in the current debate format coffin. Lamestream media reporters asking gotcha questions is so last century!
It would be nice to get back to a real debate format. I'd like to see questions, submitted by the public, randomly picked out of a glass bowl by a moderator. Every candidate gets a timed response, overseen by the moderator; followed by an open debate with timed responses overseen by the moderator. Reporters should actually "report" the news, not participate in "making" it.

Ron, it’s past time for you to put down your childish and unwise comments and join America on the Trump ‘24 Train in the first Observation car, not the caboose.
Sadly, our current ‘play kiddie car’ is going backwards.

Just as it is not a good look for Donald Trump to be blasting Ron DeSantis, it also is not a good look for Ron DeSantis to be smearing Donald Trump.
Grow up. Talk about the failed Democrat policies. Sheesh, look at how Biden is handling Maui. . .

Entitled?! Really? President Trump has a proven record of success during his presidency which is why he has the people’s trust and loyalty. He worked hard for our votes and delivered. You and the rest of the want-a-be’s continue to bash him but nothing you can do can erase his accomplishments. More importantly, in this time in history when the country is in such grave danger how about you put your ego aside and work with PDT to defeat this lawless enemy that will destroy everything that we all hold dear. Is this really the time for disunity? For the sake of the country quit playing the same old deep state games that have enabled these radical zealots to take a wrecking ball to this country. We have one shot. Let’s go with the guy we know will move heaven and earth to drag the country back from the abyss.
Before the rest of you bash me for not wanting debate to “sharpen the candidates skills”, this is not your granddaddy’s election cycle. This will be the final battle in our cold civil war and if we don’t win, nothing matters. The country will be lost to these radical anti-American zealots. The best course of action is to send your finest warrior to the field of battle, not some bought and paid for politician.

If I had won in both 2016 and 2020 and had a proven record of great success across the world, I would feel a bit entitled as well. Come on, Ron, you could have a future if you just shut up and finish cleaning up Florida for a few more years, and stop listening to the Bushies and the other incompetent advisers who are pushing you.

Just spent the weekend working a county fair booth for our local GOP. President Trump shouldn't take anything for granted. Governor DeSantis is right. Rather than displaying confidence, President Trump is displaying arrogance...and entitlement. We're in a deep red area. Some that voted for him in 2020 will not turn out for him unless he presents a new case. While sympathetic regarding the crazy indictment circus, some are no longer confident that he can contain himself when he should.

After remarks like "entitlement," I'm not sure I would vote for DeSantis in 2028.
Remember Ronald Reagan's Eleventh Commandment.

Ron, is having a Russia Collusion crippling hoax weaponized against you an entitlement? Is having an election victory stolen from you an entitlement? Is being impeached for asking a question about Biden corruption in Ukraine an entitlement? Is having your own party actively conspire against you an entitlement? Is having evidence of corruption concealed from the benefit of your opponent an entitlement? I will never support you under any circumstances.

I agree in principle with DeSantis but sort of understand Trump's unwillingness to get into a playground fight with outliers. However, participating at the same time in a live interview with a competitve media during the debate is typical of Trump's adolescent ego. "Hey look at me!" He should have gone dark during the debate and cogently commented later.

De Santis is casting his "never was President" situation into a huge concrete monument. He really just needs to stop, shut up and go back to fixing Florida's problems.

#1 seed....doesn't have to "Play" against every challenger and would be contender, there is an elimination process, Ronnie needs to defeat the rest of the palookas before he can demand a chance in the ring with the "Undisputed heavyweight champion...of the World". Trump is Cassius Clay/Ali...he acted that way from the very 1st day, taunting Hillary, and the media, then beating her, did the same with Biden/Bernie...now doing the same with all challengers. Trump cut his teeth on Boxing/Wrestling/MMA promotion, he sees politics the same way.(because it is)
Anyone who thinks they Deserve a shot, has to go through the Battle Royale...the Belt Holder/Champion does not.

I think more posters should pay attention to #16. I keep asking how Trump is increasing his base, but never see any answers. As for Reagan’s 11th commandment, it’s okay for Trump to trash DeSantimonious, but not okay for him to say anything about Trump? That’s pretty hypocritical.
