Democrats in California are preparing to propose the idea of extending unemployment benefits to workers who are on strike. Obviously, this is being motivated mainly by the Hollywood actors and writers who are on strike. Normally, benefits of this kind would only go to workers who have been let go by their employers. This is nothing more than Democrats trying to throw a lifeline to people who they know are part of their core voters. It’s also worth noting that California’s unemployment insurance program is already broke. FOX News reports: A group of California Democrats are expected to propose handing out unemployment benefits to striking workers.

The American system does not require unanimity. In fact, its design presumes deep disagreement on matters of morality and policy. This is why questions like religion are left to individual conscience, and why most policy is left to states or even smaller units, where the law’s touch will not be felt as harshly, because it reflects the more similar values of a smaller group. Finally, regardless of who has the reins of the federal government, the Constitution renders a great deal of substantive activity off limits, as exemplified by the Bill of Rights.

Blue collar singing sensation Oliver Anthony has become the first debut artist to go straight to number one on the Billboard charts with his country anthem Rich Men North of Richmond. The factory worker from Farmville, Virginia, has bested the Beatles and Elvis after his self-penned song attacking politicians drew 17.5 million streams and 147,000 downloads in the last week. The song has captivated millions of disenchanted listeners and seen Anthony hailed as a hero by conservative commentators already excited by the chart-topping success of Jason Aldean’s Try That in a Small Town.

The man who set fire to Raleigh homeowner John Kane’s “Trump Won” yard sign has been identified. Homeowner John Kane posted surveillance video of the fiery assault on his property and asked for help in identifying the criminal arsonist. A bicyclist is seen riding up to the Raleigh property on August 12 and kicking the Trump sign. After failing to destroy the Trump sign the first time around, the same bicyclist returned, this time at 4 AM in the morning, to light the sign on fire. A reward for $1,000 was offered for anyone who identified the criminal.

Joe Biden on Monday made a shambolic tour of Hawaii - in keeping with his tone-deaf and error-ridden first response to the wildfires. Two weeks after the worst U.S. wildfires in a century, the president and his wife Jill landed on Maui to be met with screams of 'F*** you!' as his motorcade passed. Some were seen waving Trump 2024 flags. The 80-year-old only compounded the anger by delivering a garbled speech at a charred sacred Banyan tree to speak in meandering terms about his own loss - that of his wife and baby daughter in 1972 - and then

Trump campaign adviser told NBC News that Trump will be at his Bedminster club that night instead. In an apparent jab at Fox, Trump has already recorded an interview with Tucker Carlson.” She continued, “Will primary voters even watch if Trump’s not there. They made their choice clear, according to recent polls.

President Joe Biden waded through the aftermath of the wildfires in Maui where he appeared to joke about the “hot ground.” The moment occurred on Monday as the president mingled with a first responder, prompting laughter from people nearby. “You guys catch the boots out here? That’s a hot ground, man,” he joked.(X Video) In another moment, the president addressed Maui’s wildfire victims, and he attempted to relate to them by citing a fire his home endured back in 2004. “I don’t want to compare difficulties, but we have a little sense, Jill and I, what it’s like to lose a home,” he said.

Left-wing activist and Harvard prodigy David Hogg said he would "much rather own a Porsche and have a Portuguese water dog and golden doodle" than have children because it's "better for the environment," comments that reflect a broad consensus among college-educated liberals whose mental health has markedly declined since 2016. "I'm never planning on having kids," Hogg wrote in a bizarre Twitter thread. Former President Donald Trump is displaying his "sense of entitlement" by deciding to not participate in the 2024 GOP presidential primary debates, according to Florida Governor Ron DeSantis. Trump announced in a Truth Social post on Sunday that he would "not be doing" any of the Republican debates, while boasting that "the public knows who I am & what a successful Presidency I had." The former president previously indicated that he would be skipping the first debate, which is set to take place in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, on Wednesday.
