I live in the San Bernardino mountains, which was in the direct path of the storm. This was a mild storm. There were no strong winds and the amount of rain was not extraordinary. The only damage to my property was 1 plastic patio chair falling over. Driving around the area this morning, I saw zero damage.

Obviously overhyped. Here in Palm Springs the usual streets that often flood during the winter rains were flooded. Maybe a few more with this storm. I staved off the water approaching the living room door with a broom. The pool that received my broomed water is now filthy. I think the hype was due to the lack of actual hurricanes from the Caribbean this season. We’ve been told, falsely, that hurricanes are more prevalent and fiercer due to global warming. So far those dire predictions haven’t come true this season. The hopes were pinned on Hilary and she was a dud.

The climate change activists are desperately trying to make it look like real climate change is happening. It isn't. Rain and floods happen all the time. Strong winds happen all the time here. The fires, tho, I firmly believe are purposely set. Anyone else notice straight line fires? That was briefly talked about in California once but I just vaguely listened. Then last week a photo was shown of five straight lines of fires in Maui. Laser fires?

FTA:Hurricane Hilary, which formed off Baja, was a Category 2, which is generally puny to start with. It slid down to Category 1 in a matter of hours. Then, even more quickly, it became a tropical storm I hate to be nit-picky but this information is all wrong. The storm formed off of Mexico's central coast. At one point it was Category 4 while moving out to sea. But instead of turning further out to sea as most storms do, it moved northward toward Baja. The wind speed was overhyped but the potential for flooding wasn't. In 2017 Hurricane Harvey was downgraded to a mere tropical storm when it caused most over it's $100 billion in damage. Hurricane Agnes in 1972 was a 'puny storm' but killed over 100 people - mostly in PA and upstate NY. The flooding kills most victims anymore.

#4 One thing not obvious about the damage from Harvey what that sooo much of the damage was caused by the government. My house, along with thousands of others, was flooded by an intentional dam release from Lake Conroe. The storm was pretty much over when they opened the flood gates WAY too fast. They calculated who was going to get flooded and sent around a message to get prepared. The water that was released (and went flowing through my house) was crystal clear. No mud at all, because it was good clean reservoir water and it was completely unnecessary because they only needed to slow the release by a few hours. My house had about 1" of water in it, which ruined 2000 sqft of oak flooring. Similar, but much worse, story for the Addicks/Barker dams which flooded the Buffalo Bayou for a week. That was a choice made by the government. Many thousands of very expensive homes were flooded to protect the dam that was supposed to protect the houses. They said they were concerned the dam might breach and damage a mosque on the south end.

VIDEO: A good, quick analysis about China’s

China is a problem. It’s an immediate problem for Taiwan, but it’s also a long-term problem for America, given that it’s our greatest geopolitical enemy (no matter what Democrats say about Russia! Russia! Russia!). However, Ben Shapiro has put together an excellent short video detailing the structural problems that bedevil China and that put it both at risk of implosion and explosion. Over the years, I’ve written often about China, both the threat it poses and the weaknesses it has. I’ve covered its demographic problems, the way it’s overreached itself with its belt-and-road policies, its shaky internal economy, and its showy but surprisingly weak military.

A 93-year-old New York City woman died, and another was rescued, when fire and smoke filled a building. Firefighters said one focus of the investigation is on an e-bike battery that might have exploded into flames. If so, it would add to the mounting number of deaths city officials blame on malfunctioning e-bike batteries. With some 65,000 e-bikes zipping through its streets, New York City is the epicenter of battery-related fires. There have been more than 100 such blazes so far this year, resulting in at least 14 deaths, already more than double the six fatalities last year.

Okay, so let me get this straight regarding the “quirks” of electric vehicles. If you’re fleeing a natural disaster, like a hurricane for instance, the nature of the design might impede efficient and safe evacuation; or they might simply explode, because exposure to salt water can link the positive and negative battery terminals, causing a short circuit. Well, if they’re just sitting there too I guess, there’s still a heightened risk of spontaneous explosion with a long-burning, extra-hot, inextinguishable fire. They don’t really work in “cold” weather, and now, according to new data, “excessive heat can greatly diminish electric vehicle range” too?

The hard left actually believes it reflects the opinions of all Democrats and indeed all liberals. This is simply not true. The hard left is in conflict with the majority of Americans, left, right or center. Does Mayor Adams of NYC agree with the border policy of the present administration? Does anyone living in the areas distressed by their policies? The hard left is a tiny minority, yet it yields amazing power, in the media, government, the courts, business, bureaucracies, and politics. These self-proclaimed "elites" (hard left) are largely in control of what we see and hear. Yes, they even call themselves "elite."

One of the things characterizing the Biden administration is incoherence. Biden is frequently completely unintelligible, mumbling sounds to himself and his audience. Kamala offers wordy, banal phrases that fail to hide that her premise, conclusion, and argument are all identical. And Karine Jean-Pierre, despite having her eyes glued to her notes most of the time, is the Sergeant Schultz of press secretaries, for she knows nothing most of the time. It’s hardly surprising, therefore, to learn that the Biden White House has purged over 30% of the people allowed press passes…none of whom belong to the major MSM outlets.

The Chevron doctrine is a rule adopted by the Supreme Court in 1984. It says that when the language of a statute is ambiguous, a court must defer to the regulatory agency's interpretation and may not substitute its own judgment. [snip] .....as agencies have learned to game the system and to leverage any scintilla of ambiguity into a wholesale assertion of authority. The Supreme Court has begun saying "enough" and has developed some caveats to check this game.
