Is Joe Biden finally about to face the first steps of impeachment? That’s what House Speaker Kevin McCarthy signaled on Monday evening.
While appearing on Fox News, McCarthy laid out the case that Joe Biden accepted bribes and funneled money through a variety of shell companies. He then said at the end of the segment with Sean Hannity that “this is rising to the level of an impeachment inquiry.” MCCARTHY: We would know none of this if Republicans had not taken the majority. We have only followed where the information has taken us, but this is rising to the level of impeachment inquiry, which provides Congress the strongest power

That’s an observation by Richard Fernandez on Twitter, and he has a good point. There’s a lot of craziness in the air these days.
But for the most part it seems to be flowing from the top down, not bubbling up from the bottom.
It wasn’t farmers and factory workers who came up with the idiotic COVID responses — nor was it they who originated the more or less criminal idea of conducting “gain of function” research on making dangerous viruses more dangerous.

Hunter Biden's artwork has brought in $1.4 million dollars, and it has been revealed that a top Democratic donor and Biden family friend who President Biden named to a prestigious commission was one of the top purchasers.
Despite a promise that all purchasers' identities would be kept a secret, two names have been revealed: Los Angeles-based real estate investor and Democratic donor Elizabeth Hirsch Naftali and Hollywood attorney Kevin Morris.
When Hunter Biden first announced he would make a high-dollar foray into the art world, the Biden team promised the identities of those who purchased Hunter's art would remain anonymous. On the campaign trail, Joe Biden promised an 'absolute wall'

The Biden administration's newest crackdown on home appliances, specifically water heaters, would take effect in 2029 if its regulatory proposal is enacted as it continues to implement its aggressive energy efficiency campaign.
White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre on Monday acknowledged the president was going after home appliances.
The newest target is water heaters. A Department of Energy (DOE) proposal released late Friday said new regulations would ultimately "accelerate deployment" of electric heat pump water heaters, claiming it would save Americans billions of dollars and reduce carbon emissions.

According to Schweizer, who wrote a best-seller “Secret Empires” on the Biden Family crimes, told Jesse that one of Vlodomyr Zelensky’s top officials was sitting in the room when they were discussing bribing the Bidens, Joe and Hunter.
Ukrainian President Zelensky has a top official who was sitting in on meetings where they talked about bribing the Bidens.
Schweizer suggests Zelensky is using this as leverage over the Biden regime for weapons and billions in US dollars.

Under its hard-right legislature and magnificent governor, Ron DeSantis, Florida has delighted conservatives by batting down Democrat demoralization and power-grab initiatives with fierce alacrity. We’ve all thrilled at the spectacle of Heavy D crushing school groomers and busing asylum scammers to the blue sanctuaries that claim to love them so. At the same time, Florida’s fight to preserve and strengthen election integrity is also reaping benefits, and I wanted to make sure PJ Media readers didn’t miss out on the fun.

That question from CBS’s “Face the Nation” host Margaret Brennan to Republican presidential candidate Chris Christie was raised just days before a former business associate of Hunter Biden, Devon Archer, gives potentially explosive testimony to a House committee in the Biden corruption scandal. Tens of thousands of illegal aliens across Massachusetts are rushing to secure driver’s licenses after voters approved a law to extend driving privileges to those in the United States illegally.
Data from the state’s Registry of Motor Vehicles (RMV), published by Chris Van Buskirk of the Boston Herald, shows that about 100,000 requests for appointments to get a learner’s permit have been placed since July 1, when the law took effect.
The majority, tens of thousands, of those requests are likely illegal aliens who were given the right to a driver’s license in Massachusetts after voters approved the law in a statewide ballot initiative late last year.

The hour is late for “Joe Biden.” His sojourn in America’s highest office was one long twilight of pretending to be effectual, or merely present, and now even that abject pantomime slips into a place of nullity, where all is still and dark. What does he do these languorous weekends at the fabled Delaware beach house? Stare out at the empty Atlantic horizon over an uneaten egg salad sandwich with the crusts cut off? Does he even suspect that the world is already turning without him?

Am I insane to think that one of the key foundations of any civilization is the ability to communicate clearly? A shared language and history matter.
Politics, science, economics, family life, education…they all rest on our ability to find common ground in communication. Without language, all we can do is point and grunt.
Precision in language is especially important in things like science and law. And the current assault on our language is particularly troubling and acute in both these areas. What you can say and how you can say things are being circumscribed, and the very meaning of terms we all used to understand are being altered beyond recognition.

A serious mental disorder in which people interpret reality abnormally. Schizophrenia may result in some combination of hallucinations, delusions, and extremely disordered thinking and behavior that impairs daily functioning, and can be disabling.
Keep that definition in mind as you watch Fareed Zakaria interview Blinken. It is truly jaw-dropping:

It is easy to birth conspiracy theories.
All that is required is chronic government stonewalling of reasonable requests for transparency. Then add in high officials serially lying under oath, along with the blatantly unequal application of the law. Institutionalize arguments from authority of politicians and bureaucrats who refuse to adjudicate arguments empirically.
Include the weaponization of investigatory and intelligence bureaucracies. Finish with the transformation of an obsequious media into a mouthpiece of the state. And presto, you end up with a skeptical, cynical public that learns to believe the very opposite from what it is told by elites.

It is so hot in Maricopa County, Arizona, that people are being brought into the emergency room with significant, sometimes life-threatening burns. For the past three or four weeks of this record heatwave, people have been burned just by falling on the ground. “Summers are our busy season, so we anticipate that this sort of thing is going to happen. But this is really unusual — the number of patients that we’re seeing and the severity of injuries — the acuity of injuries is much higher,” said Dr. Kevin Foster, director of burn services at the Arizona Burn Center at Valleywise Health.

"Spoiler" Green Party candidate Cornel West was invited onto CNN so that Anderson Cooper could shame him into dropping out so as not to be forever smeared as responsible for Trump's re-election, as Sister Jill Stein is to this day.
Along the way, the issue of endless war came up. West denounced endless war based on lies, invoking the Iraq War disaster that morphed magically overnight from an enforcement operation into a years-long nation-building one, killing hundreds of thousands of civilians in the process, and ultimately replaced a dictator with a maniacal religious fundamentalist caliphate that throws gays off public buildings in public spectacles.
Cooper called the objection "inappropriate"

Over the weekend, CNN ran a segment titled “Why isn’t Joe Biden more popular?” noting that only one president in modern times had a lower approval rating at this point in his first term. That president was Jimmy Carter.
CNN pointed to an analysis by poll aggregator FiveThirtyEight, which finds that 57.6% disapproved of Jimmy Carter 915 days into his term, while 55% disapprove of Biden. At this point, Trump had a disapproval rating of 52.6%. Biden is also far more unpopular than George H.W. Bush (36% disapproval), who went on to lose his reelection bid to Bill Clinton, and

A project to build a national museum of Latino history and culture is up in the air amid a dispute over the museum’s contents that has cast its funding prospects into the larger fight over the fiscal 2024 budget.
The House Appropriations Committee on Wednesday approved an interior and environment funding bill that bans the federal government from spending any taxpayer money on the National Museum of the American Latino, part of the Smithsonian Institution, which was approved by Congress in 2020.
With zero funding for a project that’s been a core priority for many U.S. Latinos,

On Tuesday the House Oversight Committee released a 14-year timeline of the Biden Crime Family’s influence peddling and selling out America to foreign regimes including Communist China.
The Oversight Committee is likely just scratching the surface of the criminal actions by Joe Biden, his son Hunter, and the extended Biden family.
The Biden family was selling out America to Ukraine, Romania, and Communist China.
There is plenty of proof.
On Wednesday IRS Whistleblower Joseph Ziegler confirmed in sworn testimony to Congress that the Biden Family received approximately $17 million in bribes from China, Romania, and other countries in exchange for political favors.

NEW YORK (AP) — Set aside the polls, the fundraising numbers or Donald Trump’s name recognition as metrics of his early dominance of the Republican presidential contest. He has what could prove to be the most important advantage in the race: a leg up in winning the delegates needed to clinch the GOP nomination.
While the delegate count won’t begin taking shape until voting begins next January, Trump’s edge in the race to win their votes is years in the making.

Spain was plunged into political uncertainty Monday a day after Alberto Núñez Feijóo's conservative Popular Party narrowly won the country's national election but without securing the parliamentary majority needed to topple the five-year-old coalition government of Socialist Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez.
The result means Feijóo can't claim outright victory, though he told his supporters he would try to form a government. That process is likely to take weeks or even months as Sánchez may also be able to secure support from smaller parties to form a governing coalition. A new election could also be called.

The special counsel investigating Donald Trump for mishandling classified documents and alleged attempts to overturn the 2020 election has cost U.S. taxpayers over $10million so far - including $2million in security.
Jack Smith was appointed on November 18, and now has a team of 40 to 60 prosecutors, paralegals and support staff working to investigate the former president.
On June 8, Smith charged Trump with 37 counts relating to the documents illegally stored at Mar-a-Lago. He is expected to soon bring charges in connection to allegations of interfering in the 2020 election.

Hunter Biden's former business partner and friend is set to testify that Hunter called then Vice President Joe during meetings with clients, reports say.
Devon Archer, 48, was subpoenaed on June 12 by the House Oversight Committee, which is investigating Hunter's businesses and whether he and other members of the Biden family improperly traded on their connections.
Archer has so far canceled his scheduled depositions three times, The Washington Examiner reported, but still intends to speak to the committee. They go on recess for the summer break in August.

The difference between the Republican ballot operation and that of the leftists that is the leftists manufacture ballots, whereas Republicans only collect them.
Elections are for big stakes. Pretty much everything is political, and thus, who controls the Legislature gets the goodies.
If you are a government pro, you live or die according to whether your team is in power. You do what the pros do — you make sure you control your food source.
The laughable RNC "out-ballot-harvest the left" plan is one any sentient adult knows cannot work. That of course leaves out Republican state operatives, for whom hope exceeds common sense.

Former President Donald J. Trump needs to be thrown into a jail cell for pretrial detention if as expected, he is indicted on charges related J6, at least if MSNBC legal analyst Glenn Kirchner has anything to say about it.
Last week, the 2024 GOP frontrunner revealed that he had received a letter from the Biden regime’s special counsel, “Deranged Jack Smith” informing him that he is officially a target of a Washington, D.C. grand jury investigation and that his arrest is imminent.

Chris Christie’s presidential run hasn’t quite gone as planned to this point, but the man still knows how to land a blow when it comes to facing down the mainstream press.
While speaking on Sunday to Margaret Brennan, an especially haughty partisan, Christie was pressed on the ongoing Hunter Biden scandal, with the CBS News host suggesting that Republicans should let the issue go. In a move that may surprise some, Christie wasn’t having any of it and unleashed a brutal counter. [Video]
BRENNAN: And I wonder after this plea happens, if you would advise your party to move on?
CHRISTIE: No, I wouldn’t Margaret, and here’s why.

The center-right Popular Party has beaten Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez' Socialists but will need several junior parties to govern. The result is likely to spark weeks of political uncertainty. Spain's opposition right-wing Popular Party (PP) won Sunday's snap general election, with 100% of the votes counted, but was set to fall short of a parliamentary majority.
The PP and Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez' Socialist Workers' Party (PSOE) had 33.1% and 31.7% shares of the vote respectively, the results showed.
This would give the PP, under leader Alberto Nunez Feijoo, 136 seats in the 350-seat lower chamber, the Congress of Deputies, and the Socialists 122 seats.

"The Federalist" senior editor Mollie Hemingway, during an appearance Sunday on FNC's "Media Buzz, drives home the point that with the indictment of Donald Trump on federal charges over the January 6 riot, the Department of Justice is "working to literally imprison the top political opponent of the current president" over an issue of political speech. She said Trump not being allowed to "do what everybody else was always allowed to do, which is protest election results and challenge election results" is "very dangerous." "To criminalize that act, something the Democrats have done every single election since Reagan... The Department of Justice is acting in a very reckless fashion,

President Biden has of late attempted to convince Americans to ignore the financial realities of their day-to-day lives by insisting that his stewardship of the economy has been a success. Inevitably, the corporate media have been all too willing to repeat this rubbish despite mountains of data that clearly debunk the President’s claims. Fortunately, the voters are not as dumb as Biden and the Fourth Estate evidently believe. According to virtually every poll, significant majorities disapprove of the way he has handled the economy. Moreover, because the voters experience the ugly facts in real time every day, it is unlikely that a public relations campaign will change their opinion.

It is clear that PINO (President-in-name-only) Joe Biden is going to get impeached. I didn't think that was true until recently, not because he doesn't deserve it – he massively deserves it – but because Republicans are generally weak. Impeachment is hard, and at the end of the day, he won't be removed from office anyway. But there's too much evidence out there now to avoid it. The GOP simply cannot explain to its base how it turned over this rock o' graft and ignored the wriggling worms underneath. So, the House will eventually impeach him, but only barely, because some Republicans are weak

President Biden should find ways to defy the rulings of "MAGA justices" for their "gravely mistaken" constitutional interpretations, university professors urged in a letter on Wednesday. Harvard law professor Mark Tushnet and San Francisco State University political scientist Aaron Belkin penned "An Open Letter to the Biden Administration on Popular Constitutionalism" to respond to what Biden has called "not a normal court" following high-profile cases.
"We urge President Biden to restrain MAGA justices immediately by announcing that if and when they issue rulings that are based on gravely mistaken interpretations of the Constitution that undermine our most fundamental commitments, the Administration will be guided by its own constitutional interpretations," they wrote.

Water heaters could soon be subject to much more stringent efficiency requirements if a recent Department of Energy proposal that has been criticized by Republican lawmakers goes into effect.
In a draft rule unveiled Friday, the Biden administration is seeking to compel most electric water heaters to deploy heat pump technology and gas-fired ones to use condensing technology.
It comes months after the Biden administration ignited a firestorm over feared stove top regulations, after Albany lawmakers enacted a controversial first-in-the-nation gas stove ban in New York.

A month before he died in April 1994, former President Richard Nixon wrote a letter to then-President Bill Clinton offering what Clinton later called “wise counsel, especially with regard to Russia.” The contents of that letter have now been declassified by the Clinton presidential library and appear prophetic.
In the seven-page letter, dated March 21, 1994, and discussed by history professor Luke Nichter in the Wall Street Journal, Nixon gave a blunt assessment of the political situation in Russia, predicting accurately that relations between Moscow and Kyiv would deteriorate and that someone like Putin could come to power.

After seeking to reduce the use of gas stoves, the Biden administration is pushing a proposal to ban the sale of almost all portable gas generators—which some experts have said would be disastrous for the millions of Americans who rely on such generators during power outages.
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has proposed a policy (pdf) that would remove nearly all existing portable gas generators from the market. The new rule restricts the amount of carbon monoxide that generators can emit by forcing these generators to switch off when they reach a certain level of emissions.
