It may not have had the significance of the Emancipation Proclamation, or the civil rights legislation of the 1960s, but last week's ruling by the Supreme Court that affirmative action in college admissions violates the 14th Amendment's equal protection clause is an important advancement toward equality for all. Reaction to the 6-3 decision has been mostly predictable. Many on the left, including President Biden, moan that it is a setback and they promise to try to circumvent the ruling. The president claimed it is not "a normal court." To a liberal, normal is only when the court rules in their favor.

After the horrific massacre in Nashville, the Democratic Party is hellbent on feeding the malignant narcissism of the “trans community,” in which they see a reliable, perpetually aggrieved voter base and a tool with which to terrorize society. This isn’t “Christian nationalism.” Virtually every institution is sending a message that murderous violence toward Christians is acceptable, or at least less bad than exposing the “trans community” to obloquy. Law enforcement is obstructing the release of the manifesto. Merrick Garland won’t call it a hate crime, and neither will Joe Biden, who apparently thinks this is all a big joke.

Two years ago, Transportation Secretary Buttigieg announced that he was making the fight against “systemic racism” into the core of his job. The failed South Bend mayor came out of the gate claiming that highways were racist. Last year, he went to Birmingham to announce the launch of a $1 billion plan to tear down racist highways and implement transportation equity. Taxpayer money would be directed to “economically disadvantaged communities, especially those with projects that are focused on equity and environmental justice.” East Palestine was not one of them. On Feb 3, a train filled with hazardous materials derailed in East Palestine.

With the Super Bowl tomorrow and my grade school knowledge of Roman numerals unable to calculate which number this one will be, my thoughts have turned, not to the Super Bowl yet to come, but to a Super Bowl of football past. It was a time when there was less hype; less self-promotion, and less on-field braggadocio. It was also a time of more patriotism; more happiness and more fun. It was the time when Walter Payton played in Super Bowl XX. In Chicago, there were always Cub fans and Sox fans, and though never those twain would meet

When has a Republican been in D.C. too long? When he prioritizes the Ukraine war over the disintegration of the U.S.-Mexican border. And not just any Republican, but a Texas Republican with a pivotal House leadership role. Michael McCaul is the Texan. He chairs the House Foreign Affairs Committee. He should know better than most about the dangers flooding across the southern border. Dangers posed by illegals, drugs, human trafficking, and cartels. More ominously, the cartel wars raging throughout Mexico threaten to venture north into the U.S. Tens of thousands of Mexicans are dying in those brutal wars. Are

In "'Farha' film on Netflix brings Palestinian lens to a broad audience" (1/23/23), Washington Post reporter Claire Healy can't hide her determination to report news from the Palestinian point of view. The article is about a movie based on a Palestinian story by director Darin Sallam. Sallam admits that "the movie is based in part on a story related by a Palestinian girl" (emphasis added) to Sallam's mother...who obviously relayed it to Sallam. Not exactly the criteria historians would use to instill confidence in its accuracy. [snip] In particular, when Healy states that a war began after Israel declared Independence

Jordon Trishton Walker, Pfizer Director of Research and Development, physically assaulted James O’Keefe and Veritas staffers on Thursday. James O’Keefe confronted Walker at a restaurant and showed him the undercover recordings about Pfizer’s plans to potentially mutate the Covid virus. “You f*cked up!” Walker shouted before destroying the iPad showing the PV undercover recordings about the “mutating” Covid virus. Project Veritas on Wednesday night released explosive video of Jordon Trishton Walker, Pfizer Director of Research and Development, Strategic Operations, admitting the pharma giant is exploring ‘mutating’ Covid-19 via ‘directed evolution’ so the company can continue to profit off of vaccines.

Three Florida nursing schools sold thousands of fake nursing diplomas worth millions in a scheme that allowed aspiring nurses to bypass the required training to become licensed in the profession, federal prosecutors alleged Thursday. Siena College, Palm Beach School of Nursing and Sacred Heart International Institute – all based in south Florida – combined to distribute more than 7,600 fraudulent diplomas worth over $100 million or roughly $15,000 per diploma, federal prosecutors said. All schools are now defunct. Twenty-five defendants, including school directors and diploma recipients, were charged in the scheme and each face up to 20 years

Did Hunter Biden sell the contents of classified documents found in Joe Biden's garage to the highest bidder? That's the hunch of New York Post columnist and 'Laptop from Hell' author, Miranda Devine, who threw that out there in a recent column, citing a few things that made her think so. [snip] Devine didn't mention it, but back in 2021, she wrote a column about some other policy documents that Hunter Biden was transmitting to clients from his laptop, in 2011 -

The supposedly nonpartisan Commission on Presidential Debates has selected the following topics for Thursday night's final encounter between President Trump and Joe Biden: "Fighting COVID-19," "American Families," "Race in America," "Climate Change," "National Security" and "Leadership." The commission also announced it will mute the microphone of the candidate who is not talking, which could be advantageous for President Trump since the more Biden talks the less clear he becomes.
