Systemic Racism in East Palestine

Original Article

Two years ago, Transportation Secretary Buttigieg announced that he was making the fight against “systemic racism” into the core of his job. The failed South Bend mayor came out of the gate claiming that highways were racist. Last year, he went to Birmingham to announce the launch of a $1 billion plan to tear down racist highways and implement transportation equity. Taxpayer money would be directed to “economically disadvantaged communities, especially those with projects that are focused on equity and environmental justice.” East Palestine was not one of them. On Feb 3, a train filled with hazardous materials derailed in East Palestine.

Overlooking East Petersburg is no different from Biden overlooking a black shooting in a NYC subway to head off to Buffalo where a white guy was the villain. Equity, not tragedy, is all that counts. And KJP now celebrates how few whites are in Biden's PR office.

How are they going to run freeways through Harlem or South DC, or any of the once beautiful areas now destroyed by the inhabitants?

A little off topic but yesterday when visiting the town and being questioned by members of the press, he paused a moment before answering a question and then said...'I have lost my train of thought.' Quite a thoughtless statement. I have a feeling he had been dying to say that and told associates he was going to say that when he got to the town. I also bet they all thought it was funny.

Mary Pete chose 7:00 AM as the time of day to visit EP so it's not clear with how much of the population he was actually able to interact. Maybe he didn't want to rub elbows with so many "unwashed deplorables"? He had trouble looking interested in what he was being told. Do we know if he bought their first responders breakfast? Never mind, I believe I know the answer. On the lighter side, he looked like a geek 12 year old all dressed up in his protective gear which looked 3 sizes too big on him.

Chances are it was a bunch of White men who traveled to East Palestine with little notice right after the train derailment and who made up the railway reconstruction crew who pulled all the damaged rail cars off the railway right of way, and who replaced the damaged rails and road bed, so that the railroad could continue functioning and keep the supply chain moving on their mainline through the town. No doubt Mayor Pete would come unglued and be discombobulated once it is brought to his attention that a gang of privileged White railroad construction workers were assigned by the railroad to get the railroad mainline tracks back in working order.

With the Super Bowl tomorrow and my grade school knowledge of Roman numerals unable to calculate which number this one will be, my thoughts have turned, not to the Super Bowl yet to come, but to a Super Bowl of football past. It was a time when there was less hype; less self-promotion, and less on-field braggadocio. It was also a time of more patriotism; more happiness and more fun. It was the time when Walter Payton played in Super Bowl XX. In Chicago, there were always Cub fans and Sox fans, and though never those twain would meet

Sallam admits that "the movie is based in part on a story related by a Palestinian girl" (emphasis added) to Sallam's mother...who obviously relayed it to Sallam. Three Florida nursing schools sold thousands of fake nursing diplomas worth millions in a scheme that allowed aspiring nurses to bypass the required training to become licensed in the profession, federal prosecutors alleged Thursday. Siena College, Palm Beach School of Nursing and Sacred Heart International Institute – all based in south Florida – combined to distribute more than 7,600 fraudulent diplomas worth over $100 million or roughly $15,000 per diploma, federal prosecutors said. All schools are now defunct. Twenty-five defendants, including school directors and diploma recipients, were charged in the scheme and each face up to 20 years

The supposedly nonpartisan Commission on Presidential Debates has selected the following topics for Thursday night's final encounter between President Trump and Joe Biden: "Fighting COVID-19," "American Families," "Race in America," "Climate Change," "National Security" and "Leadership." The commission also announced it will mute the microphone of the candidate who is not talking, which could be advantageous for President Trump since the more Biden talks the less clear he becomes.

Meghan Markle is said to be "overwhelmed" following all the negative scrutiny she and Prince Harry have received from their tell-alls, leaving many to wonder if they’ll attend the coronation. Harry’s father, King Charles III, will be crowned alongside Camilla, the queen consort, on May 6 at London’s Westminster Abbey. It’s uncertain whether the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will attend. "Meghan is upset and overwhelmed," Kinsey Schofield, host of the "To Di For Daily" podcast, told Fox News Digital. "It’s not that Meghan feels excluded with the planning," she claimed. "Meghan feels like the palace is only fighting for Prince Harry to attend and they don’t care whether she

President Joe Biden fumbled around his words as he tried to explain why he still has no plans to visit East Palestine after a toxic train derailment devastated the small Ohio community.  As he was leaving the White House on Friday to head to his Wilmington, Delaware residence, a reporter asked Biden if he was going to travel to East Palestine after his administration had been accused of ignoring the city's plight. The president answered, 'At this point, I'm not,' but then he appeared confused and strained as he tried to explain himself.  'I did a whole video, I mean, um,

Better late than never! President Joe Biden on Friday directed federal agencies to go door-to-door in East Palestine, Ohio, starting Saturday, to check on families affected by the toxic train derailment. Under Biden’s order, teams from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Environmental Protection Agency and Federal Emergency Management Agency will visit homes.  Workers will ask how residents are doing, see what they need and connect them with appropriate resources from government and nonprofit organizations, the White House said. The 'walk teams' are modeled on similar teams following hurricanes and other natural disasters.

He was asked on Friday if he would be visiting the site of the train derailment in East Palestine, Ohio, and his response was bizarre. He said he did a “whole video,” and he couldn’t remember that it was a “Zoom” video. “Zoom. All I can hear every time I think of Zoom is that song of my generation, ‘Who’s Zoomin’ Who?'” Biden babbled. Yikes. At this point, he’s just not a serious person; he seems completely out of it. Earlier this week, the Southern Baptist Convention (SBC) cut ties with Rick Warren’s Saddleback Church. The influential Southern California-based congregation had been part of the SBC since its founding, but the denomination dismissed Saddleback over a decision that founding pastor Warren made shortly before he retired. In 2021, Warren ordained three women as pastors, which caused the SBC to consider disciplining the church or kicking it out of the denomination. One of those women, Stacie Wood, the wife of lead pastor Andy Wood, is a “teaching pastor.” On Tuesday, the SBC Executive Committee deemed Saddleback

As RedState reported on Friday, Joe Biden’s long-standing interview moratorium ended with a sit-down with ABC News. It had been months since the president dared to answer questions aside from brief encounters with reporters outside the White House. Nightline is obviously friendly territory, and the questions were mostly mundane at best. Expecting Biden to consistently make contact with softballs is never a good bet, though. In a clip that was released on Saturday morning, the president was confronted with the comments from East Palestine Mayor Trent Conaway. In them, the mayor criticized the optics of Biden galavanting in Ukraine while still refusing to visit the ecological disaster area
