Americans are losing faith and interest in their country and its future. There is no other way to read the devastating results of an opinion poll published on Monday by the Wall Street Journal.
It finds that only 38% of respondents think patriotism is very important, not much more than half the number who thought so as recently as 1998, when the poll was first conducted. Likewise, there has been a massive decline of interest in religion : Thirty-nine percent now say it is very important compared to 62% 25 years ago. America was founded in large part by people who wanted the freedom to practice their different faiths unmolested.

Former President Donald Trump has taken serious heat since late last week, when he shared an article on his Truth Social account that included an image of him holding a baseball bat next to a picture of Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg.
Yet contrary to corporate media narratives, Trump did not create the image and says he did not see a preview of the photo before he posted a link to the article. The bizarre post led to several media outlets claiming Trump was inciting violence against Bragg, who Trump previously announced intended to indict him on a case many legal scholars, including Trump critics,

The suspect who killed six people at a Nashville Christian school is the second transgender-identified woman who has attacked a school since 2019.
On Monday, transgender-identified Audrey Elizabeth Hale, 28, killed three adults and three children at the Nashville school. In 2019, Alec McKinney was aged 17 when she helped killed one teenager at a school in Colorado while she claimed to be transgender.
Female mass shooters are very rare, but a 2011 study of 133 women who went through Sweden’s masculinization treatment showed that:
female-to-males had higher crime rates than female controls … [and] did not differ from male controls. This indicates … that sex reassignment is coupled

Salem, N.H. — Nikki Haley plans to lean into retail politicking on the 2024 GOP primary trail, focusing on more intimate events that she believes will heighten the contrast between her and the early favorite for the nomination, former president Donald Trump.
The former South Carolina governor laid out her strategy during a town hall in Salem, N.H. Tuesday night, when one of the voters gathered at the Derry-Salem Elks Lodge asked how she planned to best Trump.
“When you look at the situation that we have, President Trump has 25 percent of Republicans,” Haley said. “It’s a hard 25 percent. They are ‘Trump or no one.’”
“There are 75 percent other Republicans

The White House said it has stopped sharing detailed data on its strategic nuclear forces with Russia in response to the Kremlin refusing to comply with a key nuclear arms treaty, the standoff another front between Washington and Moscow over Russia’s war in Ukraine.
Russian President Vladimir Putin announced in February that it was suspending its participation in the New START nuclear arms treaty with the U.S., citing America’s military support for Kyiv as making it impossible for Moscow to engage with Washington. White House National Security spokesperson John Kirby said Tuesday that Russia has refused to share nuclear data with the U.S., prompting Washington to withhold

WASHINGTON — A federal judge has ordered former Vice President Mike Pence to comply with a subpoena in the investigation into former President Donald Trump’s efforts to overturn the 2020 election results, according to a source familiar with the decision.
The ruling from Judge James Boasberg, the chief judge for the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia, requires Pence to testify before the grand jury tied to the probe led by special counsel Jack Smith. The ruling was issued Monday but remains under seal because it involves grand jury matters. The judge's order gave Pence a partial victory regarding his argument that he was shielded from having to testify

Mainstream media outlets struggled to describe the sex of the mass shooter who claimed six lives at a private Christian grade school in Nashville on Monday, first describing the female perpetrator a woman in response to reports from the authorities and then racing to correct themselves once it became clear that the shooter identified as a man.
After initially describing the shooter as female in official department statements, Nashville police chief John Drake said during a Monday afternoon press conference that the shooter, a former student at the Covenant School, identified as transgender. Asked by a reporter whether the shooter identified as a trans woman or a trans

A fire that broke out inside the men’s section of a migrant detention facility in Ciudad Juárez, Mexico, has claimed the lives of at least 39 individuals.
According to the National Institute of Migration (INM), a Mexican federal agency, a total of 68 men from Central and South America were in the building at the time of the fire.
“It is with deep sadness and grief that we learned of the fire that occurred inside the INM in Ciudad Juárez,” the city’s federal deputy, Andrea Chavez, tweeted on Tuesday.
“We will wait for the official information and, from this moment on, we send our condolences to the families of the migrants.

Disney will begin layoffs this week, the first of three rounds before the beginning of the summer that result in about 7,000 job cuts, according to a memo sent by Chief Executive Bob Iger.
The cuts are part of a broader effort to reduce corporate spending and boost free cash flow. Disney said last month it plans to cut $5.5 billion in costs, including $3 billion in content spend.
"This week, we begin notifying employees whose positions are impacted by the company's workforce reductions," Iger wrote in the memo, which was obtained by CNBC. "Leaders will be communicating the news directly to the first group of impacted employees

As we reported earlier, a staffer for Rand Paul was brutally attacked in broad daylight in Washington, D.C. on Saturday and the news just broke on Monday, after Sen. Rand Paul announced it in a statement.
The staffer was walking down the street with a companion less than a mile and a half from the U.S. Capitol, when the suspect, Glynn Neal, 42, who was hiding in a corner allegedly “popped out of the corner and proceeded to stab (the victim) multiple times,” according to the police statement on the matter.
The staffer and the companion were able to take the attacker to the ground. The police arrived and found

A study commissioned by the Club of Rome and published on Monday found that the world population is approaching its peak and will begin declining swiftly after the middle of the 21st Century, averting the “population bomb” scenario in which longer lifespans, more abundant food, and better medical treatments cause the human race to overwhelm the capacity of the Earth to sustain it.
The “population bomb” thesis derives its name from the sensationalistic, and later thoroughly discredited, 1968 book by Stanford University entomologist Paul Ehrlich. Ehrlich’s fanciful book touched off a worldwide overpopulation panic, presenting grim scenarios of imminent mass starvation and resource shortages that did not come to pass.

Representative Jim Jordan (R., Ohio) sent a letter to Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen and Internal Revenue Service (IRS) Commissioner Daniel Werfel demanding an explanation of why the federal agency deployed federal agents to visit “Twitter Files” journalist Matt Taibbi.
Jordan, the chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, sent the notice on Monday requesting more information into the timing and circumstances of the raid on Taibbi’s house in New Jersey on March 9.
Federal agents were dispatched to Taibbi’s residence the very same day that the investigative journalist appeared before the Select Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government, also chaired by Representative Jordan.
