Former President Donald Trump has reportedly been referring to Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) as "Meatball Ron" ahead of the latter's expected 2024 White House bid.
Trump has insulted the popular Florida governor in casual conversations, per the New York Times, describing him as "Meatball Ron," a likely jab at his appearance, and "Shutdown Ron," for his actions putting restrictions in place at the beginning of the COVID-19

White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said it Friday: “Also new, uh, I also know uh, that Ben is making history.” She was referring to Ben LaBolt, the new White House communications director. “As you know,” Jean-Pierre struggled on, “we believe here, in the Biden-Harris White House, that representation matters, he will be the first openly, uh, gay, uh, um, uh, communications director, which is very, very important indeed.” It is? With the military shooting a series of strange and unexplained objects out of the sky, a nonexistent Southern border, skyrocketing inflation,

Kamala Harris is a living embodiment of the Peter Principle, where people keep getting promoted until they reach jobs for which they are clearly unqualified. More and more Americans think that describes our current vice president.
Harris is deeply unpopular with independents, who are essential for electoral success (fewer than one in three voters view her favorably), and she is losing popularity among Democratic Party leaders. They see her ineptitude, listen to her word salads, and watch the polls with dismay. The latest evidence of Harris’ fading position is a sharply critical article in the New York Times, of all places, filled with anonymous disapproval from senior Democrats

California Democratic Senator Dianne Feinstein announced Tuesday that she will retire at the end of her term.
“I am announcing today I will not run for reelection in 2024, but intend to accomplish as much for California as I can through the end of next year when my term ends,” Feinstein said in her announcement.
At 89, Feinstein is the oldest senator who has held a seat representing California since 1992. She said she plans to spend the remainder of her tenure working on a few legislative priority projects for her state.
“I campaigned in 2018 on several priorities for California and the nation: preventing and combating wildfires, mitigating

The gunman who killed three students and then himself at Michigan State University last night was arrested in 2019 for keeping a loaded gun in his car.
Anthony McRae, 43, opened fire on MSU campus at 8.18pm last night, shooting dead two kids at Berkey Hall before moving on to Union Hall, where he killed a third student.
His motive for the rampage remains unclear - he has no known ties to the school. Public records show McRae lived in Lansing with his father. His mother died last year.

Recently, an establishment called Nettie's House of Spaghetti in New Jersey announced they will no longer allow children under 10 to dine at their restaurant.
The move caused controversy, with some respondents applauding the policy and others accusing Nettie’s staff of being “child haters.” But the top commenter at MSN.com summed the issue up succinctly:
“We don't hate your kids,” she wrote. “We hate your parenting.”
Congratulations, madam, you won the Internet today.
If this seems a tempest in a teapot, know that it has implications for our entire society, because it reflects a deadly modern problem:
Too many Americans are failing to civilize their children.

This is the history of the transformation of a tiny area occupied by Zaporozhian Cossacks into the largest country in Europe after Russia, larger than France or Germany. How did Ukraine pull off an expansion of this magnitude without a single conquest? [Map] (Snip)
The historical record demonstrates that contemporary Ukraine emerged from a mosaic of lands assembled by Russian conquests and paid for with Russian blood and treasure. Except for a small area of the Zaporozhian Host (the red area on the map), Ukraine has no historical connection to the land it occupies and is the product of Russian geopolitical engineering.

“And when you kick back, it hurts them more if you are wearing heels.” Nikki Haley released a 3-minute and 33-second video today that announces her candidacy for president. This comes a day before her official campaign announcement which she will make Wednesday in South Carolina. Is this how we do things now? Maybe this is what generational change looks like. Traditionally, a candidate waits to announce his or her candidacy at an official rally or event and then the video ads begin. Haley looks eager to get started, which may play in her favor. She’s enthusiastically confident in her ability to run for president.

Democratic Senator Dianne Feinstein told reporters on Tuesday that she had not 'released anything' about retiring from Congress after her office put out a statement announcing this was her last term.
'I haven’t made that decision. I haven't released anything,' she told reporters when asked about her emailed statement.
When a staffer mentioned the earlier announcement, she said, 'You put out the statement? I didn't know they put it out.'
The 89-year-old lawmaker is unquestionable a political titan, particularly so in California. But recent reports have raised concerns about her cognitive abilities at this advanced age, and have hastened the push for her to retire.

On Monday, the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) published a report revealing that the rate of high school-aged girls in the United States considering suicide or going through depression has increased dramatically over the last 10 years.
(snip) 57 percent of all high school girls felt depressed or hopeless in 2021, compared to just 36 percent in 2011; this marks a staggering 58 percent increase over the 10-year period. Similarly, 30 percent of girls in 2021 contemplated suicide, a 60 percent increase from just 19 percent in 2011. And in another 60 percent increase, 24 percent of high school girls went so far as to make plans for their own

Not long ago, Disney ripped off any pretense of being a family company and dove head-first into the social justice muck with an episode of “The Proud Family” that featured a slam poetry segment that echoed the fringe critical race theory claim that “slaves built this country.”
As RedState reported, it soon surfaced that the writer of the show is a very loud and proud social justice radical named Latoya Raveneau, who has a “not-at-all-secret gay agenda” and wants to introduce “queerness” to the shows your kids watch whenever she gets the chance. She also bragged that no one at Disney is trying to stop her.

Hot, cold, wet, dry, sunny, clear, snow, no snow – it doesn’t matter, it’s caused by global warming, the climate alarmists tell us over and again. Their desperation is palpable, the cords that keep them tethered to reality fraying more than ever, their charade coming apart.
For more than 30 years, the crisis peddlers have carried the narrative that man’s carbon dioxide emissions are creating an existential threat. They’ve cajoled, bullied, lied, deceived, screeched and burned an immense volume of fossil fuels to get their hard-left agenda codified and executive ordered, and they have some successes to refer to. But their efforts have been, and always will be, useless.
