Tyre Nichols, 29, died days after the 7 January encounter with five ex-police officers who now face murder charges. Family members and officials say body camera footage of the incident shows Mr Nichols was brutally beaten. (snip) Mr Nichols, a black man, was stopped by five police officers, who are also black, on his way home after taking photos of a sunset at a local park, an attorney for the family said. Officials say he was suspected of reckless driving, though Ms Davis said on Friday that has not been substantiated.

Al Sharpton said that " the alleged crime is particularly painful because of the officers race " . What does that tell you about Al?

Many have questioned the wisdom of releasing the video on a Friday night. Demonstrators have all weekend to rile up the city. A rainy, weekday morning would have been a better time.

when can we expect to see the dash cams, surveillance videos, and hear the radio calls of the Reckless driving? Why did he abandon his car and run? The so called "Scorpion Squad" was initiated to take back the streets from the Gangs, Memphis had become the Nations deadliest city(per capita) In their first months the squad had over 350 arrests, 169 felony warrants served, several hundred guns siezed....crime rates have been decreased dramatically since. ANYTHING Crump is affiliated with starts out with a BIG LIE, and the later facts NEVER match the 1st stories he promotes. He also takes a hefty cut of any "compensation" received by the victims/families.

If you want to avoid riots, can you think of a worse time than Friday evening to release an inflammatory video? Not sure what the authorities are thinking. Antifa would probably riot anyway, but this doesn't seem the best strategy.

Watching the video is bad. The police should have handled this a lot better. That being said, if the young man had put his hands behind his back & shut his mouth I'm thinking he would be alive today. RIP young man. My sympathies to his family.

Between the drama buildup on cable news and the totally stupid idea to release the video on Friday night it’s almost like they were all hoping for a riot. Hard to say what they’re protesting. Black victim, black cops - all 5 charged with murder. What more are they trying to demand?

Odd, isn’t it, that when cops kill a white perp, no riots or looting occur. It almost makes me think that blacks are looking for an excuse to raid shoe and liquor stores. Nah, surely not.

What would happen if these 5 cops encountered a white guy? Speaking for myself, I'd be on alert but I wouldn't have run. Why doesn't everybody know that?

So, we need some "get whitey" riots, right? Oh, wait....you mean all the cops were black, TOO? Oh darn....they'll still riot and blame white folks, somehow.

The ultra-strong opioid being cut with virtually every street drug in the country killed a record 75,000 Americans in 2021, the equivalent of 1,500 lives lost every week.  Fentanyl - which is 100 times more potent than morphine - started off as a cheap and potent alternative to heroin and was used by only the most hardcore drug addicts in the US, who mainly injected it or smoked it through a pipe. But its cheap manufacturing costs and potency have made it the go-to cutting agent

The release of the videos from the lethal arrest of Tyre Nichols, 29, is shocking for its lack of professional tactics and procedures. This looks like adrenaline-filled rage … from the officers. At certain points, it is the suspect who sounds to be trying to de-escalate the situation. It is unfortunately not unique. In physical encounters, officers can escalate violence and lose control with lethal consequences. The footage helps establish a number of legal points. The force is clearly and undeniably excessive. It was a complete breakdown of training and supervision. It is hard to look at this tape objectively and analytically given the emotional impact of the scene. Yet
