The mainstream media has claimed that hurricanes have grown more frequent and intense in recent years, though scientists have found no major changes in hurricane activity in over a century.
With the landfall of Hurricane Ian in Florida, the media has repeatedly instilled fear over the impacts of climate change and its alleged worsening effects on the Category 4 storm. Media outlets including The Washington Post, AP News, Miami Herald and Reuters have immediately framed their coverage around the climate crisis and its role in intensifying storms.

Despite Ian hitting the US, this hurricane season remain well below what was predicted. They expected 13-16 named storms (there have only been 10 so far, and some of those were a stretch to be named), and 5 hurricanes (they predicted 8).

Before we had geosynchronous satellites there used to be 1 to 2 named storms every season. Did they suddenly mushroom to over 10? Be reasonable.

Just more of the same: no matter what happens it is proof of bad human caused climate change.
Known climate change effects:
Rain
Not rain
Wind
No wind
More hurricanes
Fewer hurricanes
More tornadoes
Fewer tornadoes
More earthquakes
Fewer earthquakes
More forest fires
Fewer forest fires
Aliens from another galaxy push moon into earth
Aliens from another galaxy don't touch moon
Always climate change. Bonus for saying climate change is racist and caused by white people and Trump.

Maybe our gubbermint can gin up a few more bad storms and hurricanes just to appease the media's insatiable appetite for weather catastrophes. Anyone familiar with HAARP?

The great Galveston storm killed eight to ten thousand in 1900 and wiped the island clean. The Keys hurricane in 1935 had 185 mph winds and took out miles of railroad. Camille also had 185 mph winds and completely destroyed two small towns in 1969. The media should know this but realize that the majority of people in this country are too ignorant of history to realize it so they can get away with their blatant lies.

Since the advent of the interweb there is no reason for the media, and people in general, to be so ignorant. Information is at their keyboards - if they didn't have ulterior motives.

Basically, we've had one hurricane this season. The weather people will say there were ten or more named storms, but outside of the one that skirted Bermuda and Ian, the rest of the storms were over open ocean waters and even that number is down from the past seasons. The MSM and the weather channel have always blown things out of proportion just because it looks better on tv.

I guess the 'experts' wouldn't remain experts if they said, "This hurricane season will be quiet, with only 10 hurricanes, 2 of which will contact the CONUS." Gotta keep people panicked and scared.

My youngest son, otherwise highly intelligent, has bought into the propaganda, and was yelling at me yesterday for questioning him. (He is usually respectful.)
I'll show him this article to see if it sinks in.
(He said 'all of his science professors believe in the increased activity,' by the way.)

It's like what liberals are doing to schools, now. Swatting them, sending armed and armored military units into unsuspecting schools, endangering kids and teachers alike, so they can report that there's been an uptick of reported violence in schools.

The article sez...what appears to be an uptick is actually a return to normal after the unusual scarcity of storms in the 60's-80's....the times of the WORST air pollution.
Sooo...air pollution/greenhouse gasses LESSENS hurricanes, right?

As Thomas Sowell would say: "Where is the evidence?" Where is the actual science in so called climate change? How can excess CO2 be responsible for colder & hotter weather? The alleged causative factors seem to change to fit the theory. Also, just follow the money. Too many people are getting rich from so called climate change. Al Gore & Joh Kerry are but two. The tremendous grant money to study it would dry up if climate change theory were deemed to be inconclusive. We certainly can't let that happen now can we? Nothing but common sense here folks.

Sorry corporate media, can't use climate change for this crisis. The weather channel puts a circle around every thunder cloud now. May be, might be, could be a hurricane.
