A schism characterized by documents on “grace through separation” has brought forth a lawsuit.
In Florida, 106 churches sued the United Methodist Church (UMC) because it charged them large amounts of money to leave, according to a recently filed lawsuit.
The National Center for Life and Liberty (NCLL) represents these churches.
The departure price varies from church to church, said Jonathan Bailie, the chief operations and financial officer of the NCLL.
Some congregations must pay over $1 million, while others must pay under $100,000, he clarified. But in previous decades, leaving the UMC has been free.

Some things are so obvious that it surprises me that no one else says it. I am surprised no one pointed out to Justice Kagan that we have a Supreme Court to do that which is unpopular. The Court protects the Constitution from The Mob.
(snip) "I’m not talking about any particular decision or even any particular series of decisions, but if over time the court loses all connection with the public and with public sentiment, that’s a dangerous thing for democracy."
She should know better.
The worst decisions made by the Supreme Court are the ones that were popular at the time.

Marilyn Mosby, Baltimore’s high-profile progressive prosecutor who was indicted on federal charges, has been defeated in her bid for reelection as the city’s state’s attorney in the Democratic Party primary.
Ivan Bates, a criminal defense attorney and former prosecutor, won with 30,486 votes or about 40 percent; Thiru Vignarajah, 31 percent; and Mosby, 29 percent, according to results released by the Maryland State Board of Elections.
Bates criticized Mosby, a two-term incumbent, on the campaign trail over what he called the mismanagement and incompetence of her office. He often said that he ran to make Baltimore safer.

Joe Biden officially declared that Donald J Trump is “the Great MAGA King,” during a speech last month.
Well, according to the latest polling results from the Turning Point USA, Student Action Summit, a new generation would agree with Biden. Donald Trump wins the 2024 straw poll with 79% support. The next closest candidate was Florida Governor Ron DeSantis with 19%, and all other candidates are asterisks.(snip) TPUSA polled conference attendees—youth activists from around the country—who they would vote for in 2024 if Trump decided to launch another White House run. (snip) 78.7% attendees said they would vote for Trump.

Astronaut Buzz Aldrin once said the key element of his life was “timing … I have been blessed to have been in the right place at the right time.” It is the same defining element of Hunter Biden’s life: No matter what crime or corruption is alleged, he has escaped responsibility, often by pure political serendipity.
Now, according to various media outlets, time may be running out for Hunter, with a federal investigation entering a “critical stage” — yet timing still could be on Hunter’s side.
Hunter has always had impeccable timing and, like Blanche DuBois, “always depended on the kindness of strangers.”

n paper, it looked like a fantastic deal. In 2017, the Chinese government was offering to spend $100 million to build an ornate Chinese garden at the National Arboretum in Washington DC. Complete with temples, pavilions and a 70-foot white pagoda, the project thrilled local officials, who hoped it would attract thousands of tourists every year.
But when US counterintelligence officials began digging into the details, they found numerous red flags. The pagoda, they noted, would have been strategically placed on one of the highest points in Washington DC, just two miles from the US Capitol, a perfect spot for signals intelligence collection, multiple sources familiar with the episode told CNN.

As reported earlier by We Love Trump a Chinese company recently paid $2.6 million for 300 acres of farmland in Grand Forks, North Dakota.
The parcel of land’s location near a US Air Force base that houses sensitive drone technology has lawmakers on Capitol Hill worried about potential espionage by Beijing. The Chinese firm Fufeng Group recently purchased 300 acres of farmland in North Dakota just down the road from a US Air Force base that houses sensitive drone technology near Grand Forks.
The farmland is just a 20-minute drive to the Grand Forks Air Force Base.

A fire Thursday night damaged the 93-year-old Public Market building on Henderson Street, a historic structure that the fire department called a staple of downtown Fort Worth.
Just before 8 p.m., the Fort Worth Fire Department received multiple calls about black smoke coming from the vacant building at 1400 Henderson St., the department said in a Facebook post.
Firefighters found flames on the first floor of the building.
“Thankfully, firefighters were able to keep the fire contained to the interior of the building and prevented it from spreading and damaging the terra cotta exterior or the structural integrity of the building completely,” the fire department said.

Some do, some don’t, and what it looks like may differ, depending .For example, we learn this from Don Surber:
(snip) Dr. Birx the female Fauci said, "I knew these vaccines were not going to protect against infection. And I think we overplayed the vaccines.(snip)They are going to put Bannon away for two years for ignoring a subpoena whose authenticity is questionable because Republicans did not agree to it.
Fauci and Birx will walk away with fat pensions and book deals because they overplayed the vaccines. The 100,000 or so people who lost their jobs over the vaccine get nothing.

The calls and text messages are relentless. On the other end are doctors and scientists at the top levels of the National Institutes for Health, Food and Drug Administration and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. They are variously frustrated, exasperated and alarmed about the direction of the agencies to which they have devoted their careers.
“It’s like a horror movie I’m being forced to watch and I can’t close my eyes,” one senior FDA official lamented. “People are getting bad advice and we can’t say anything.”
That particular FDA doctor was referring to two recent developments inside the agency. First, how, with no solid clinical data, the agency authorized COVID vaccines

The campaign manager for Ohio Rep. Tim Ryan’s Senate bid denied the congressman voted on legislation barring oil from the nation’s strategic petroleum reserves be shipped to China. Ryan, however, voted with 218 of his Democrat colleagues to veto such a motion brought forward by California Republican Congressman David Valadao on Wednesday.
On Twitter, Rep. Ryan’s campaign chief, Dave Chase, responded to a post from rival GOP Senate candidate J.D. Vance’s press account which called out Ryan for the vote. Chase called the attack an example of Vance “being a fraud and running a terrible race.”

In the aftermath of the Thursday attack on the Republican candidate for governor of New York, Rep. Lee Zeldin (R-NY), there was some confusion identifying the weapon wielded by the attacker as he attempted to stab Zeldin. The Monroe County Sheriff’s report of the incident read, “A male from the crowd climbed up on the stage and approached Zeldin. The male had a weapon in his hand, swung it towards Zeldin’s neck.” (Snip)So, what exactly was the weapon that Zeldin’s attacker was holding as he lunged for the congressman?
The device is called a “Ninja Kitty Self Defense Keychain Ring Impact Self-Defense” and it retails for $11.85 online.

We have doubters, for good reason, but Hunter’s father’s power is seriously waning. Will others be willing to go to the mat, potentially damaging themselves, for either Hunter or his dead-man-walking father? I don’t think so.
