A Harvard University student newspaper survey of faculty within the Faculty of Arts and Sciences found that just 1.46% individuals who responded lean conservative.
The survey, which received 476 responses and 333 complete responses, was emailed to faculty at Harvard University between April 11 to April 26, found that 1.46% of respondents lean conservative while 82.46% lean liberal.
Of those Harvard University faculty surveyed, 16.08% consider themselves moderate.
Only a quarter of those who responded were in support of hiring more conservative-leaning professors, and 31% opposed it. 44% of those who responded said they "neither supported or opposed it."

A slew of workers rights groups celebrated Wednesday afternoon in Pilsen after the U.S. Department of Labor announced new guidelines that would protect undocumented workers who file labor complaints against their employers from deportation.
In an announcement last week, the labor department provided guidelines for how undocumented workers can receive immigration-related protection if they file complaints.
For the department to be able to “to carry out the laws its enforces, workers must feel free to participate in its investigations and proceedings without fear of retaliation or consequences related to their immigration status,” the agency said in a statement.

Negotiations for a new national contract between the parties in the National Railway Labor Conference entered their third year in 2022. This is the group made up of Class I railroad management representatives and railroad union officials responsible for defining the new terms. The process has progressed to the end of the tracks. The parties are in a 30-day cooling-off period prescribed by the Railway Labor Act (RLA). The period ends July 18. In anticipation, some unions are taking a strike authorization vote.

A Texas politician has revealed that the Uvalde cop seen checking his phone in the early stages of the Robb Elementary School massacre is the husband of slain teacher Eva Mireles.
She was one of the 21 people who were killed by crazed gunman Salvador Ramos at Robb Elementary School on May 24.

A survey discovered that charging logistics is the primary reason why Americans aren’t buying electric vehicles.
Consumer Reports, which said it surveyed around 8,000 Americans, found that 61 percent said they wouldn’t seek to own an electric vehicle because of charging logistics while 55 percent cited the number of miles a vehicle can go per charge. Another 52 percent said that the costs of buying and maintaining an electric vehicle are cost-prohibitive.
Another 46 percent of the respondents stated they have not heard of any financial incentives available for owners of electric vehicles.

The U.S. annual inflation rate climbed to 9.1 percent in June, reaching its highest level since November 1981 and topping the market estimate of 8.8 percent and May’s annual rate of 8.6 percent.
According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), the consumer price index (CPI) rose by 1.3 percent month-over-month. The monthly inflation was also higher than economists’ expectations of 1.1 percent.
The core inflation rate, which removes the volatile food and energy sectors, eased to 5.9 percent. But this was higher than the forecast of 5.7 percent. (snip)

A California bill signed into law Tuesday will allow residents to sue the manufacturers of guns that are used in crimes. A 2005 federal law prevents gun manufacturers from civil litigation when their products are used in crimes. The office of Gov. First, the larger ‘layoff‘ issue is going to be more prevalent as the economy contracts and consumer demand declines. There is almost no expanded investment going into any Main Street business that sells non-essential goods.
The economic contraction, the drop in consumer demand that indicates a recession, is very real and now very easy to spot.

In a wildly under-reported public sermon last year, Hochul zealously denounced the unvaccinated, accusing them of defying God’s will. The unvaccinated people she vilified are her own constituents. Ironically, it was the only part of the president's remarks that is consistent with what the Supreme Court actually said in its decision in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization. In overturning Roe v. Wade, the court ruled that millions of citizens, not nine justices, must now decide the question of abortion.
In its decision, the court said that in 1973 "Roe abruptly ended (a) political process" of states dealing with the issue of abortion.

Republican pollster Rick Shaftan is like a lot of political junkies: He looks to his mother for hints on what real America is thinking. Lately, their talks have been about former President Donald Trump and whether he should run again.
“Here’s the thing: My mom, of all people, my 96-year-old mom points this out,” said Shaftan, who just finished polling Republicans in Iowa about the coming 2024 presidential caucus.
“She says, ‘I don’t see Trump doing anything. What’s he doing? He’s not making any news,'” Shaftan said.

Mohammed Rahman Arsala, 32, moved to Saint-Brieuc in northern France in 2018 where he committed a string of offences. He was jailed last year for 15 years for raping a 12-year-old boy and was hauled back before the courts last week to answer for further offences against children. The term “Mama Bears” has been commonly used to describe the intense protective instincts displayed by mothers objecting to the targeting of their children by leftwing bureaucrats. It became widely used during last year’s Virginia gubernatorial election and the various school board controversies leading up to it.
As education officials attempted to ramp up the indoctrination of Virginia’s children, parents, particularly moms, pushed back fiercely. The term “Mama Bears” soon spread to other parts of the country and the message was clear: Don’t even try to get in between a mother and her kids.

Inflation accelerated to an explosive 9.1% for the 12 months ending in June, according to the consumer price index, the highest level in four decades.

On Monday’s broadcast of the Fox News Channel’s “Jesse Watters Primetime,” Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost (R) discussed claims that a 10-year-old rape victim in Ohio had to travel to Indiana to obtain an abortion due to Ohio law and said there has not been a “whisper” from local law enforcement anywhere in the state about an investigation into such a crime. He also stated that in a case like this, “you would be looking for DNA analysis,” and “There is no case request for analysis that looks anything like this” in the Ohio crime lab that his office runs and does most of Ohio’s DNA analysis.

The Jan. 6 hearings mark the third major investigation into former President Donald Trump’s time in office. To many people, in particular Republicans, these investigations have looked suspiciously politicized, especially the most recent hearings. WEST NEWTON, Pennsylvania -- As the sun dipped below the horizon of the Laurel Mountains off in the distance of the Evergreen Drive-In Theater, families with children were spread out on their sleeping blankets in front of their cars. A cluster of couples were sitting in folding chairs, enjoying each other's company.

A majority of Democrat voters say the Supreme Court should be abolished for its racist and misogynistic practices, according to a recent poll commissioned by the Heartland Institute.
In addition, 54 percent of young people aged 19 to 39 concur, regardless of their political association.
The survey of 1,025 U.S. voters was divided among party lines, with 53 percent of Democrats in favor of abolishing the current Supreme Court and replacing it with a “new, democratically elected . . . court with justices chosen by the American people directly,” and 33 percent “strongly” in favor. Only 21 percent of Republicans and 38 percent of independents favored the ill-advised proposition.

Republicans lead the generic ballot and hold a solid structural advantage in competing for the House of Representatives. A $20 million proposal to put an abortion clinic off the coast of Alabama in federal waters in the Gulf of Mexico will not work, according to former U.S. Attorney Jay Town.
