A $20 million proposal to put an abortion clinic off the coast of Alabama in federal waters in the Gulf of Mexico will not work, according to former U.S. Attorney Jay Town. During an interview with Mobile radio FM Talk 106.5 on Monday, the former U.S. Attorney for Alabama's Northern District said although the act of abortion, prohibited in Alabama by the 2019 Human Life Protection Act, would be committed in federal waters, the host vessel would still be governed by law from the state of which it had departed.

Comments:

Is he right? What are the limitations on international waters? It seems as if anything were fair game, then there would be a lot more offshore vice than what there is now

Exactly where do the Satanists that want to run this murder ship think that any state that bans abortion is going to allow them to dock?!?!?!?!?

The nutty left wants all the sex without the responsibility. But, they have many options at their disposal not to get pregnant -- birth control pills, other contraceptives, condoms, morning after pill, abstinence -- if abortion is not readily available. If they don't want kids, sterilization is always available too.

They'll dock in NY or NJ. run down along the coast and into the gulf. Or they'll run it out of Cuba.

The Murder Cruises can set sail, have fancy meals, then dump the "aborted waste" overboard " as shark food to have to avoid evidence of what happened during the mini vacation.

Good luck finding a close port that will supply the ship with fuel, food, and other necessities in the Gulf.

If it is legal to murder babies offshore then wouldn't also be legal to kill the crew?

Insurance coverage offshore? I’m not sure any plans cover elective procedures out of country. Immigration costs to check passports since you left the country for re- entry. Passports needed now when cruising or leaving country. Who will approve safety of gloating death barge coast guard? Who will provide transportation and cover liability? Emergency evacuation costs by helicopter for botched abortions $20,000-$50,000. So many questions be so many Stupid liberal ideas. Then there are legal issues.

This is an idiotic idea. The expense is too much. It's much cheaper to give them a free bus ticket or flight. This is just dems throwing a temper tantrum and coming up with their wacked out ideas that never work.

I think #11’s point is that the Huntley sank 3 times, killing everyone on board.

That would be a foolishly expensive way to circumvent the law, versus just having the woman go to a state that allows it. The idea is to run our noses in their evil, along the lines of how all states must perform gay marriages, and how the US government flies the LGBTQI+ flag all over the place.

FTA: ... the good arguments people on the left make. By good, I mean the ones that could be persuasive to folks in the middle. Um, what arguments would those be? I can't think of a single good argument the Left has ever made. What I don't get is why they think that the effort and contortions required to actually get to an abortion ship in the Gulf of Mexico is easier than just driving or flying to another state?

Eco-zealots are slashing tires on SUVs across the globe in an effort to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. The Tyre Extinguishers movement, which started in the U.K., has spread to the United States and leaders promised to 'expand massively' in the coming weeks. New York City was hard hit by the group last month when approximately 40 SUVs were deflated in the Upper East Side. Residents in Chicago; San Francisco, California; and Scranton, Pennsylvania were also targeted by the climate activists.

Recently, I sat in my airplane seat before takeoff and watched a parade of the obese squeeze down the aisle. Many seemed barely able to shuffle through the narrow space; how they would maneuver their bodies into the 18”-wide seats that awaited them was another mystery. Never was it more evident to me how unhealthy our society has become than witnessing that performance. I estimated that at least half the passengers on the airplane appeared sufficiently overweight to be clinically obese. How did this happen? “Something to drink, sir?” asked the polite flight attendant as she passed my row. She placed the famous Southwest snack mix package

On Wednesday evening, Ocasio-Cortez tweeted, “I posted about a deeply disgusting incident that happened today on the Capitol steps, but took it down bc it’s clearly someone seeking extremist fame.” “It’s just a bummer to work in an institution that openly allowed this,

A conservative legal organization filed a federal civil-rights complaint against Dick’s Sporting Goods on Thursday for sponsoring staff abortions while failing to provide equivalent paid maternity care to employees. America First Legal (AFL) asked the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) to open a civil-rights investigation into the company, alleging multiple violations of Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, which prohibits discrimination based on parental status. After the decision in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization, which overturned Roe v. White House COVID-19 adviser Anthony Fauci conceded Wednesday morning that COVID-19 vaccines don’t protect “overly well” against the virus. Speaking during a Fox News interview, Fauci told host Neil Cavuto that “one of the things that’s clear from the data [is] that … vaccines—because of the high degree of transmissibility of this virus—don’t protect overly well, as it were, against infection.” But Fauci said later that the vaccines “protect quite well against severe disease leading to hospitalization and death” before he made note of his recent COVID-19 diagnosis.
Republicans Are Favored to Win the Senate 24 replies

Recently there has been a spate of stories about Republicans’ difficulties in taking over the Senate. These analyses typically focus on candidates’ poor polling numbers in key states and the weakness of the Republican recruiting class. These aren’t absurd analyses; I’ve referred to the battle between the overall electoral environment and Republican candidate quality as “the irresistible force versus the immovable object” in previous columns. Had the Republican Party fielded its A-team in states like Georgia, Pennsylvania and Arizona, we probably would not be talking about Democrats even having a shot at retaining the Senate. At the same time, we shouldn’t get carried away.
