Since Russia initiated its brutal and illegal invasion of Ukraine, the West has responded with a hearty bellow of “Cry Havoc! And let slip the dogs of war!” Since February 24, NATO has poured nearly all its otherwise limited surplus of weapons and diplomatic capital—as well as economic capital, especially from the United States—into propping up the Ukrainian resistance front.(snip)Of course, the same people ignoring the prospect of a Russian nuclear strike against NATO also insisted that Putin wouldn’t dare to invade Ukraine. Then when he did, they insisted that Putin wouldn’t dream of trying to conquer the capital of Kiev. How did those predictions work out?
No doubt, they

Imagine that there is a Ru8ssian who has held enormous power for his entire adult life And that power was held over highest officials of the Soviet Union.
Then imagine the Soviet Union took itself out of commission, and returned to Mother Russia. Continue to imagine that the man grifted himself into the new Mother Russia, Give him some victories in former Soviet territory, which is what we have done.
Now let's imagine that the man proves to be mortal, suffering with a terminal illness, but wants to go out conquering those countries.
Is there any way, short of killing him, to avoid nuclear war? He has nothing to lose.Russians kill Russians and allied countries with great aplomb.
Should someone kill Putin? Ukranians? Russians? .?the UN kill Putin? Should the U.S. do the kill with drones?
These are the discussions that should be being held at the UN, where are black female ambnassador, who sounds so good is not. Or at the NSC, in n snakepit of traitors, or with Imbeciles Austin and Millay?

Putin didn't dream of conquering Kiev in that sense. He had convinced himself that he would roll in, mostly unopposed, and be greeted as a liberator. The proof of this lies in the fact he only amassed 130-150k troops to occupy a country of 44 million people with a military force of comparable size. He needed more like 600,000 men.
He was expecting a walkover. And it is my belief he bought his own nonsense that the Maidan Revolution was a CIA trick or manipulation, rather than a reflection of public will. Knowing now they had been "tricked", they would naturally prefer a return to the Kremlin's influence. How'd that turn out?
As far as nukes, why does everyone attribute a level of reckless suicide to a political class that has been riding the corrupt gravy train for decades now?

I don't think actual nuclear conflict will break out. The military/industrial complex, the central bankers, and the grifting politicians, globalists actually pulling the strings for the marionettes striding the world's political stages, don't want that to happen. Bad for business.
No, they want endless proxy wars that demand enormous military budgets. Use the very expensive machinery of war, blow up the multi-million dollar missiles, equip proxy states with massive armaments, so the materiel has to be replaced.
Nuclear war would tear up the money conveyor systems driving what we see happening. It seems very unlikely to actually occur.

Zelensky's new Christmas wish list for weapons is ambitious indeed. You can't blame him for asking because the Ukraine is in danger of being swallowed by Russia and thousands more of their people will be killed. Should we give them the entire UN arsenal or should we have kept our noses out of the conflict from the beginning? Once Putin has Ukraine, where will he go from there? It's Nazi Germany all over again and we are almost certain to be drawn into this. Big wars are begun by crazy people but finished by a lot of innocent blood, usually ours.

Look at Biden's (Obama's) policies to transform (destroy) America. They want a weak America. What better way than to sacrifice America's allies?
They sacrificed Afghanistan to Muslim extremists. They are sacrificing Ukraine to a tyrannical Russia. It's just taking longer. Zelensky did not run away with a plane load of Ukraine's money like the leader of Afghanistan did. Russia may well win the war, but they never will win the peace. Ukraine will wage a guerilla war for decades.
Who will America sacrifice next?
- Taiwan? Have to give the Chinese something.
- Saudi Arabia? Imagine what that would do to oil prices.
- Estonia, Lativia, and Lithuania? Putin would love that, but we have already thrown them a bone.
Russia or someone else might lob a nuke. but why? America is just giving countries away. Maybe they think America won't lift a finger to defend itself, but that could change in a heartbeat. America can go from one extreme to another.
Someone may well be stupid enough to lob a nuke but doubt it will be Russia. More likely a nuclear Iran or the US itself in reaction to current events. Slo Joe is probably the stupidest most dangerous 'leader' in the world currently given his mental state.

NATO and the US are not "sleepwalking" anywhere. They are caught in a conundrum largely of their own making - egging Ukraine towards NATO membership to bring the alliance to the Russian border from the Baltic to the Black seas, and even to the Arctic Circle if Finland pursues membership And every country along that new "front" has historic axes to grind for past harms and injustice. The US gives Russia a historic precedent in the Cuban Missile Crisis for this war, and Cuba is 90 miles from the continental US. Does the US now regret and reject that precedent?
If so many news reports are accurate, the Russians are a second-tier power sinking fast, using far obsolete equipment and badly trained draftees, losing thousands of troops and hundreds of vehicles weekly. Meanwhile, the Ukes are winning bigly...just kicking Russian tail at every road junction and river crossing. And against that Russian "threat" NATO needs to expand further? Nonsense.
If reports are accurate, the Russians ought to begin their retreat any day back to Moscow...beaten soundly and pursued by the Ukes. Then we'll see Russian power unleashed. I don't think that's happening. NATO, especially the US, needs to stand down and let this play out...and then either disband or realign to get the US out of Europe. The US must renounce this foolish "Leader of the Free World" obligation that allows it to intervene worldwide to restore monarchs and nation build in the name of "freedom". Read Washington's Farewell Address...there is wisdom that's being ignored.

Thank you, #7. The propaganda on this Ukraine/Russia business has been well-digested.

Not likely. This is the military industrial complex's equivalent of "global warming" scare. Not buying it at all.

McConnell and Lindsey Graham are right there with Biden, sending weapons and American support personnel. The DC war group are going to have their rear ends handed to them by Russia, as there is zero chance of General Milley and Lloyd Austin managing anything other than a loss. All that has been accomplished is to turn Ukraine cities into a pile of rubble, and Ukraine citizens into refugees.

What if Hitler had not declared war on the U.S. after Pearl Harbor? Suppose he had not attacked France or Russia. Suppose we left him alone to kill all the Jews in central Europe, and then set his sites on England. AT what point, if ever, would we have felt the need to stop him? World War II was a nightmare, but we prevailed. Would we be better off today if we had never entered it? Once Russia is given leave to reassemble the Soviet empire, where do we draw the line? Once cancer metastasizes it is usually too late to win the battle with it.

Hopefully, it can be avoided, obviously. But if not, permit me to brazenly recommend a few targets....

The problem with this theory is...just as in America...Russia has it's ruling class of oligarchs ...and they will never let a nuke strike happen...it would stop their flow of money and besides...when the fighting is over...all the construction companies all over the world will use US dollars that nervous Nancy has already printed and made available to rebuild Ukraine ...war is good business for the biden family and the schumer family...and maybe crooked Hillary's brother...who made a fortune in Haiti can join the thieves...

Remember Vietnam and the Peaceniks.
Russia has Donbas already in the bag. Milley will have to change into flat shoes to save Odessa.
