FAIRFAX, Va. — Johnny Depp won his bombshell defamation case Wednesday against Amber Heard after a Virginia jury substantiated the claim that his ex-wife sullied his reputation and damaged his career when she wrote about becoming a “public figure representing domestic abuse” following the couple’s spilt.
The panel of seven in Fairfax decided to award the “Pirates of the Caribbean” star a total $15 million in damages after deliberating for about 13 hours.

She's headed for Bankruptcy Court next, I expect. I doubt she has insurance for her stupid woke big mouth.

This is the correct verdict. Amber Heard told of horrific sexual and physical abuse but had not a whit of evidence to back it up. No doctor reports, no corroborating photos, no witness statements that held up independently.
That said, they are both unlikable people. Depp is a druggie with a vile mouth who destroyed property in uncontrollable rage when he was upset. I'm only glad that this is a win for everyone who ever got cancelled or worse on the basis of false accusations.

If I was on the jury, I would have made the $15 million award against both of them payable to those forced to endure that mess -- the judge, his staff, the baliffs, stenographers, and jurors.

Gold digging bwitch loses. Sounds right, but never much of a fan of unhinged Depp, either.

Wasn't it all written by the ACLU? Now sue the ACLU.

It received non-stop coverage on TV...whereas the Sussan trail received nearly none.
The "bombshell" came out early, SHE didn't write the Op-Ed that appeared under her name, the ACLU tasked people to write it for her in exchange for $1.5Million up front and a promise of $3.5 million later, the Times KNEW it when the printed it.
She has since reneged on the $3.5Million.

The Dump on the Sheets heard round the world. Can we expect another adventure with Jack Sparrow soon on movie screens? To quote KDH, with the passage of time.

Both are flawed humans but her flaws are over the top. I like Depp. Yeah, the alcohol and drugs but he's a gentle man. He's never hurt anyone. Not one other person in his life has said that he hurt them physically. Heard is a classic narcissist and mentally ill. I'm fine with the jury decision.

Hate to come across as an old Fuddy Dutty. But, Johnny stated he used cocaine. Unless I've missed something that's a felony anywhere in the USA. With $ 15 million he can get a great ambulance chaser. Doubt either Amber or Johnny have a big future in the flicks.

I'm glad JD proved his case , that he wasn't a domestic abuser. Having said that, it is apparent that he is a self-abuser, as far as drugs & drink go, but it is HIS life and he can do whatever he wants. He'll start getting big roles as this trial has been a gigantic boon for him publicity-wise. Not so much for AH, I think her career is all over but the shouting. No one will employ crazy-as she so clearly is! The justice system is so tipped in favor of women accusers she must have felt she'd win hands down, but what a comeuppance she got! She had it ALL and just proved to be un-livable with. Bye bye career, fun while it lasted.

The lawyer who 'lost' 2 million will just bill Depp an extra 2 million. After legal fees if Deepp gets 8 million I will be surprised.

When they divorced, Depp gave her $7m to go away. She said she would give half to a children's hospital, half to the ACLU. She never did, she merely "pledged" the donations. Depp ought to grab that dough before borderline personality disordered Amber squanders it.
