Earlier on Monday, explosive news broke that Elon Musk was closing in on a deal to purchase Twitter. At that moment, the hysterics began, and now that the deal is done, the breakdowns have grown exponentially, something RedState recently reported on.
But while we knew the broader left would lose its mind, another big question would be how Twitter’s employees would handle it. After all, it’s currently a far-left company stocked full of far-left ideologues from Silicon Valley. Some weeks ago, when Musk first began to make noises about purchasing the social media giant, I posted this as a reaction.

Last Tuesday, RedState reported on two desperate filings put forth by Hillary for America and Fusion GPS. They attempted to assert attorney-client privilege over materials that John Durham’s prosecution of Michael Sussmann is seeking to get its hands on.
That left the obvious question open, though. How could Sussmann both simultaneously assert that he was acting on his own accord and not being paid by the Hillary campaign while at the same time having Hillary for America and Fusion GPS assert attorney-client privilege over their communications?

The 2020 Election was the largest election steal in US history. It was a mess. But with all the theft, not one single complaint came from one party – the Democrats. In fact, all the Democrats have done is block and attack anyone who brings up election fraud and then play the victim when they get caught. Democrats from the beginning have not had one material complaint about the 2020 Election. This along with their other actions indicates obvious guilt. We’ve seen Democrats attack any legitimate efforts to uncover 2020 Election fraud. They’ve blocked doors to counting rooms and forcefully prevented

How gross do you have to be to be involved with the pervy, pervy Lincoln Project?
The scandal-plagued NGO of ex-Republicans devoted to destroying President Trump has seen its share of sex scandals involving one of its founders, John Weaver, harassing and soliciting unwilling young men and at least one 14-year-old boy. But that's not their only scandal; there's a new one involving mysterious payouts for some sort of bad behavior, and these scandals aren't over.
According to the Washington Free Beacon:
The Lincoln Project shelled out another six-figure payment to a founding member of the super PAC who accused the organization of ignoring allegations of sexual misconduct within its ranks.

Elon Musk has bought Twitter amid promises to make the platform more hospitable to the freedom of speech, but perhaps not coincidentally, both former president Barack Obama and never-president Hillary Clinton have recently come out strongly in favor of speech restrictions. It’s clear that the powerful forces that want to silence political and cultural dissent in this country today, and make it impossible for anything but the Left’s favored positions, are not giving up, Elon Musk or no Elon Musk. Swapping animal products for future foods such as insect protein or cultured milk could reduce global warming, water and land use by over 80 per cent, a new study suggests. Researchers used computer modelling to find the optimal diet combination to meet nutritional needs, while also minimising global warming potential, water and land use. They found that if people in Europe replaced meat and dairy with foods produced through new technologies, such as making fake steak out of bovine cells, it could significantly reduce all environmental impacts. Not only that, but it would be nutritionally adequate and meet the constraints for what can be feasibly consumed, according to experts

Uber's decision to waive delivery fees from black-owned restaurants during the George Floyd riots could cost the company $91 million.
A New York appeals court ruled this week that the ride-share giant must pay the costs to the American Arbitration Association (AAA), which is handling 31,000 claims against the race-based promotion, which users say violated civil rights law.
Uber's terms of use provide that disputes with the company will be settled in arbitration administered by the AAA. The conservative litigation boutique Consovoy McCarthy PLLC under that provision filed demands against the company on behalf of thousands of customers.

After one-third of the horrific term of President Joe Biden is almost complete, the United States of America is facing a series of mind-boggling crises.
The Biden administration’s COVID-19 response focused on forcing Americans to wear masks and take vaccines. The President pushed mandates and lockdowns, instead of freedom. The toll on our economy, overall health and psychological well-being has been staggering.
This week, in their commitment to continue these policies, the administration refused to abandon the unnecessary and ridiculous mask mandate for public transportation and will appeal a federal judge’s sensible ruling striking down this unpopular mandate.

The writing has been on the wall for some time now as to just how bad it is likely to be for Democrats going into the 2022 fall midterm elections.
Joe Biden’s (and Kamala Harris’) approval ratings are in the toilet, and Biden is polling poorly on his handling of key issues like the economy, inflation, and illegal immigration. Further, Biden’s support among key voting blocs is cratering, and most generic Congressional ballot polls show Republicans with a distinct advantage over Democrats.
Any one of the above issues would be concerning for a political party in a crucial election year.

For example, “landlord” will yield suggestions such as “proprietor” or “property owner,” while “mankind” will lead to the suggestion of “humankind.” “Policeman” is now recommended to be “police officers,” while “housewife” is to be replaced with “stay-at-home spouse.”

Blow, of course, is surprised at Biden’s unpopularity, and worried that the Democrats are stumbling into a bloodbath in the November midterms. Blow is paid to understand and explain politics and culture to his readers. That he is surprised reveals a lot about the bubble he is in. And his meandering analysis of Democrats’ problems illustrates how the ideology making Democrats unpopular is also preventing them from understanding why they are unpopular.

This interview is gag-worthy as two condescending leftists wax philosophically about how progressive U.S. foreign policy should dictate global society. However, it does show just how flawed the ideology of the interventionist political leftists has become, and why their expansionist ideology always culminates in conflict.
Example: Right now, China is threatening to put military bases in the Solomon Islands. Australia and the collective west are aghast and ready to draw “red lines.” At the same time the U.S/NATO put military forces ever closer to Russia and are shocked that Putin would eventually respond to the red lines he previously drew. The geopolitical hypocrisy is ridiculous.

In a press conference on Wednesday, Santa Rosa County Sheriff Bob Johnson told homeowners they are “more than welcome to shoot” at burglars as he announced the arrest of Brandon Harris, who Johnson described as being one of the “frequent flyers” breaking into local homes.
You aren’t just more than welcome to stand your ground, it’s actually preferred if you do, Johnson stated.

President Vladimir Putin on Sunday attended an Easter mass conducted by the Russian Orthodox Church, which has strongly backed the Kremlin leader's "special military operation" in Ukraine.
Putin, dressed in a dark blue suit, a white shirt and dark purple tie, stood to one side in Moscow's Christ the Saviour Cathedral, holding a lit red candle, live images of the midnight service showed.
Questions have emerged on whether Russian President Vladimir Putin really attended an Orthodox Easter service in Moscow this past weekend after pictures issued by the Kremlin bore a startling resemblance to images from last year.

A woman who accidentally dropped her cellphone into the hole of an outhouse in a national forest and fell in while trying to retrieve it had to be rescued by firefighters in Washington state.
Brinnon Fire Department Chief Tim Manly said the woman, who was at the top of Mount Walker in the Olympic National Forest northwest of Seattle, had been using her phone when it fell into the toilet on Tuesday, The Kitsap Sun reported.
Manly said she disassembled the toilet seat and used dog leashes to try and get the phone and eventually used the leashes to tie herself off as she reached for it. That effort failed

The myth of NATO unity remains on full display this morning. What is NATO unity without France and Germany? Essentially, it’s the Anglosphere, the US and the UK. That is certainly the case when dealing with Russia. So here we have the UK openly attacking France and Germany for arms dealing with NATO’s main enemy, the enemy whose threat is the entire reason for NATO’s existence. And the secret arms dealing was in contravention of an arms embargo. It amounts to what, at the personal level, we would call treason. Some unity:

QUILCENE, Wash. - Two Jefferson County fire departments rescued a California woman who became stuck in a vault toilet at the top of Mount Walker on Tuesday after falling in the toilet to retrieve her phone.
Mount Walker is located in Quilcene, Washington and is part of the Olympic National Forest.
The woman told rescuers that she dropped her cell phone down into the vault toilet while she was using it. She tried to take the toilet apart to get it, but when that didn't work, she said she used her dog's leash to try and fish it out.

Florida recently passed a law that leftist opponents and their collaborators in the media have branded the “Don’t Say Gay” law. Actually, however, the law does not say “don’t say gay.” [snip] Note the classrooms to which this prohibition applies – only kindergarten through third grade. And note the persons to whom it applies – only instructors, not students. And note the subject to which it applies – only sexual identity and sexual orientation, not any other sex issue. But using authority figures like teachers to indoctrinate kindergarteners into the wonders of transsexuality is something the left wants. Predictably, they’re PO’d about this

Ten GOP candidates for governor of Michigan filed nominating petitions to place their name on the Aug. 2 primary election ballot.
All 10 Republican hopefuls turned in signatures in excess of the 15,000 required by the April 19 filing deadline.
Three of the original 13 declared candidates have dropped out of the race.
If the signatures survive examination for validity by state officials and the challenges of opposing campaigns, the field of 10 will set a record in Michigan for the most candidates within a single party filing for the nomination for the office of governor, according to Michigan Information and Research Services.

WASHINGTON— Intelligence officials had gathered to brief select members of Congress on future threats to U.S. elections when a key lawmaker in the room, No. 3 House Republican Elise Stefanik of New York, tried to move the discussion to a new topic: Hunter Biden’s laptop.Stefanik, who serves on the House Intelligence Committee, asked the officials during the April 1 briefing whether they had any evidence of Russian involvement in the release of Biden’s laptop to the news media in the fall of 2020 — a possibility floated by high-ranking former government officials in the weeks before the presidential election. Intelligence officials told Stefanik the question would be better answered by CORRECTION*

Given the scale of the stakes for western government; and given the professed intentions of govt-aligned big tech to control the story; it is almost impossible to have an honest and open dialogue on the internet about what is happening in Ukraine. (snip) this interview highlights some important aspects.
First, notice how Prime Minister Shmyhal is not the least bit bashful about saying cash is important because American taxpayers, the working American people, have a duty to fund the pensions and retirement accounts of the Ukrainian people, including govt politicians. [03:37] (snip)

The banner year for corn may not be what it's cracked up to be.
Brandon Fast says it used to cost him $250 a wheel to replace the tires on his 18-wheeler on his farm near Mountain Lake. Now, that price is nearly double—just one reason he's not yet celebrating the near-historic $8-a-bushel-and-up corn prices popping up at some ethanol plants and grain elevators throughout southwestern Minnesota. "It's almost one step forward, two steps back at this point," said Fast, a corn farmer who also runs a seed and chemical business, on Thursday. One of Washington’s goals in responding to the Ukraine crisis is to erode Russia’s ability to carry out future military actions akin to the now three-month-old invasion of Ukraine, Defense Secretary of State Lloyd Austin said Monday upon returning from a stealth visit to Kyiv. “We want to see Russia weakened to the degree that it can’t do the kinds of things that it has done in invading Ukraine,” Mr. Austin told reporters in Poland, where he and Secretary of State Antony Blinken arrived early Monday after traveling by train to the Ukrainian capital. Joe Biden claimed in 2007 that he was arrested for trespassing at the US Capitol when he was 21 but he was let go. Now he is holding Trump supporters in the DC jail (gulag) for doing the same thing. FOX News reported in February 2021 on Biden’s remarks: In a 2007 TV interview with David Letterman, then-Sen. Joe Biden, D-Del., claimed he was arrested at the U.S. Capitol when he was 21 years old. Letterman asked Biden what it was like to walk into the U.S. Senate chamber after being elected at the age of 29.

Perhaps more amazing than the fact that Pelosi is appearing in this event at all is the fact that this isn’t the first time she’s done it.

New footage of Vladimir Putin appearing unsteady, fidgeting and biting his lips during an Orthodox Easter service in Moscow on Sunday has added to suspicions that the Russian leader is seriously ill.

During an interview on this week’s airing of Fox News Channel’s “Sunday Morning Futures,” Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R) slammed the ongoing border crisis that he attributed to President Joe Biden and the Democrats.
Abbott described the border as a “total disaster” and called it “the worst” he had ever seen.
“As you know, it’s a total disaster — not only by President Biden and his administration but by the Democrats across the board,” Abbott declared. “And we have a President of the United States who has not negotiated with the president of Mexico.

LONGVIEW — In 2019, Washington created one of the most generous college financial aid programs in the country. Compared with a program it replaced, the Washington College Grant allowed many more students to qualify for free or subsidized tuition. No longer would eligible students be denied aid because of caps tied to limited funds. By all rights, the state's colleges should have seen a rush of applicants. Instead, enrollment plummeted. Community and technical colleges experienced a combined 24% drop between fall 2019 and fall 2021. Public four-year institutions saw a collective drop in undergraduates of nearly 7% during that time period

New York - Twitter Inc (TWTR.N) is poised to agree a sale to Elon Musk for around $43 billion in cash, the price the chief executive of Tesla Inc (TSLA.O) has called his "best and final" offer for the social media company, people familiar with the matter said.
Twitter may announce the $54.20-per-share deal later on Monday once its board has met to recommend the transaction to Twitter shareholders, the sources said. It is always possible that the deal collapses at the last minute, the sources added.

Most presidents, once they leave office, fade off into oblivion and don’t feel the need to weigh in on every single facet of life. Oh there are some exceptions, such as when Bill Clinton drags is decrepit tired ass to a speech so shill for more money for his “foundation.”
Such is not the case, however, for a narcissist like Barack Obama. In a perfect world, Obama would fade into irrelevance and just go away. Unfortunately, this self-aggrandizing egomaniac keeps showing up, like a hemorrhoid that won’t go away...
it is obvious that it is Obama…not Biden…who is still running the show.

Yes, it’s very early. But if given the choice right now, which Democrats do Americans want to see run for president in 2024? The perhaps not-so-surprising answer emerging from the latest I&I/TIPP Poll seems to be: “Anyone but Joe Biden.”
In our April opinion poll, we asked Americans of all political affiliations across the demographic spectrum “Who do you want to see run for president on the Democratic ticket in 2024?”
Just 19% of those responding answered “Joe Biden, 46th president of the United States.” The rest of the choices were spread among 18 candidates, along with “other” (6%) and “not sure” (28%).

Despite widespread concern about his cognitive health, President Biden won’t be removed from office pursuant to the 25th Amendment. It would require an unlikely display of integrity from his Vice President and Cabinet, plus an implausible level of bipartisanship in Congress. Moreover, the claims of politicians and pundits aside, the involuntary ouster of an unfit president isn’t the purpose of the amendment. Its principal function is to guarantee that the executive branch of the government is at all times led by an official who is conscious and able to communicate. Thus, the first 3 of its 4 sections focus on

Six people were killed, a man was critically wounded in a police-involved shooting and 31 others were shot across Chicago this weekend, marking the city’s most devastating toll so far this year as temperatures rose ahead of the typically violent summer months.Just last week, Chicago Police Supt. David Brown touted encouraging drops in homicides and shootings as the department pushes to tamp down the surging violent crime that has become a serious political liability for Mayor Lori Lightfoot. In January, just days after Chicago closed the books on its deadliest year in a quarter-century, Lightfoot declared 2022 a “make-or-break year” for doing just that.

Over the last 16 tortuous months of the Biden presidency, it’s become clear that the Democrats are running on empty. They are not even trying to reset their electorally poisonous policies.Politically this means they are heading for annihilation at the midterms. Yet they appear curiously relaxed, as if winning elections is no longer a priority.
One thing you know is that the Dems are not hiding under the duvet sucking their thumbs. Like the Fantastic Mr. Fox, they have a cunning plan. They might not be any good at governing, but when it comes to seizing power by foul means or fair, they are world-class.
