It has taken him weeks to get to this point but German Chancellor Olaf Scholz has finally reversed course on sending heavy weapons to Ukraine.
Under pressure both at home and abroad for his dithering over Ukraine, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz reversed course and finally agreed to supply heavy arms to aid in the country’s defense against Russia.
The agreement to deliver antiaircraft tanks to Kyiv was announced on Tuesday in conjunction with a summit meeting among Western nations held at the U.S. Air Force Base in Ramstein, Germany. On the agenda were discussions about how best to prevent a Russian victory in the eastern Donbas region, where combat tactics

One of the reasons many Republican and independent voters alike are so attracted to Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is his propensity to go bottom-line and say exactly what he thinks when he thinks it, in common-sense, everyday language, with zero sugar-coating tossed in to soften his message.
Desantis’s recent comments about San Francisco provide a perfect example.
During a discussion with supporters on Monday, the popular governor addressed concerns about whether new Florida residents from Democratic states could change the political demographics of the Sunshine State. As reported by The Washington Examiner, DeSantis assured the gathering that Florida has actually seen a greater surge in Republican voters than Democrat voters.

Twitter users want to find out why it appears as if right-wing users are experiencing a surge in new followers while left-wing users are seeing the opposite.
In a thread on Tuesday, software developer Christopher Bouzy shared statistics suggesting that users had either lost or gained followers based on their political leanings.
“Over the past 24 hours, Democrats have experienced a significant decrease in followers, while Republicans have experienced a significant increase in followers,” Bouzy wrote. Bouzy specifically highlighted data from high-profile accounts such as former President Barack Obama, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.), and Sen. Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.).
The four left-wing figures all lost

Project Veritas on Tuesday night released a leaked audio (listen below) from an all-hands meeting at Twitter in the wake of the company’s purchase by Elon Musk.
In attendance at the meeting, which lasted around 45 minutes, were Bret Taylor, a Twitter board member, and Parag Agrawal, CEO of the company.
Twitter CMO Leslie Berland moderated the crying room and set the tone by asking what the board and Musk plan to do to about the “mass exodus of employees, considering the acquisition is by a person with questionable ethics.”
“The question of attrition,” Taylor said, “as Parag stated, one of the themes of today is continuity

Elon Musk said Twitter’s move to ban The New York Post’s exclusive story about Hunter Biden’s overseas business dealings ahead of the 2020 presidential election was “obviously incredibly inappropriate.”
Musk, who is set to buy the social media platform, wrote his opinion Tuesday evening in response to reporter Saagar Enjeti, who tweeted a Politico article about how the social media company’s top lawyer was brought to tears when discussing its new ownership.
“Vijaya Gadde, the top censorship advocate at Twitter who famously gaslit the world on Joe Rogan’s podcast and censored the Hunter Biden laptop story, is very upset about the @elonmusk takeover,” Enjeti wrote.

The Ukrainian battlefield of Putin’s War is incredibly lethal. In the sixty days since Putin’s three-to-four day invasion of Ukraine started, Russia has had 1,700 vehicles or major pieces of equipment destroyed and another 1,200 captured. Tanks losses numbered 560 destroyed and 214 captured, while losses of infantry fighting vehicles/armored personnel carriers come to 930 destroyed and 330 captured. These are not estimates; these are floor numbers that have been counted and geocoded. By the same methodology, Ukraine has lost at least 200 tanks destroyed and 70 captured, along with 790 infantry fighting vehicles/armored personnel carriers destroyed and 90 captured. No one really knows how many vehicles have been

The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 809 points, or 2.4 percent today, as investors sold stock amidst concerns of coming recession.
The Dow faced a significant decline since trading opened this morning. By the market’s close, it had reached one of its lowest closing values in the past year. Similar declines were observed on other market indices – including the S&P 500, which fell by 2.8 percent, and the Nasdaq Composite (comprising technology company stock), which lost 4 percent of its value.
Most experts ascribed the loss to stocks by big technology companies, whose increases in value have come to represent a sizeable portion of market indices.

Attorney General Merrick Garland on Tuesday said there will “not be interference of any political or improper kind” in the Justice Department’s investigation into Hunter Biden’s business dealings.
Senator Bill Hagerty (R., Tenn.) questioned the attorney general about the investigation into President Biden’s son during a Senate Appropriations Committee hearing, asking whether Garland himself had been briefed on the investigation.
Garland replied that the probe is being led by David Weiss, the U.S. attorney in Wilmington, Delaware who was appointed by former President Donald Trump. “I’m aware of that, but he reports to you,” Hagerty said.

Three out of every five people in the U.S. now have antibodies from a previous Covid-19 infection with the proportion even higher among children, demonstrating how widespread the virus was during the winter omicron surge, according to data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
The proportion of people with natural Covid antibodies increased substantially from about 34% of the population in December to about 58% in February during the unprecedent wave of infection driven by the highly contagious omicron variant. The CDC's analysis didn't factor in people who had antibodies from vaccination.
The CDC published the data in its Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report on Tuesday.

Harvard University President Lawrence Bacow announced Tuesday that the university will spend $100 million to study and redress its ties to slavery.
The funds will be put toward a “Legacy of Slavery Fund” to continue researching and memorializing the history, in part by working with descendants of black and Native American people enslaved at Harvard and their broader communities. The announcement follows the release of a report from the Presidential Initiative on Harvard & the Legacy of Slavery project, which Bacow commissioned in 2019.
“Harvard benefited from and in some ways perpetuated practices that were profoundly immoral,” Bacow said in an email to the university’s students, faculty and staff members obtained

Ari Melber hosts a show called The Beat on MSNBC, and like many of his ideological comrades, he is Very Concerned™ about what might happen to Twitter with Elon Musk at the helm.
In what has to be the most stunning lack of self-awareness and cognitive dissonance perhaps ever committed the world wide web, Melber took to the air on Monday to express his fears about the demise of fair play on Twitter. Melber worried that one person owning all of a site like Twitter wouldn’t have to be transparent, and that person might even be able to *gasp* secretly ban politicians they don’t like, or outright ban them, or even *second gasp* “turn down their reach.”

Twitter placed a temporary ban on any new product changes to prevent employees "going rogue" following the acceptance of billionaire Elon Musk's $44 billion offer to buy the platform, Bloomberg reported.
The company will not allow any changes to the platform unless they're business-critical and approved by the vice president, people familiar with the matter told the outlet. The ban is in place until at least through Friday, Bloomberg reported.
The move was taken in order to prevent any employees, upset by the decision, from "going rogue", one source told the newswire.
Twitter declined to comment on the Bloomberg report.
