If we’ve heard it once, we’ve heard it a million times: 80-year-old Senate GOP leader Mitch McConnell is the indispensable man. McConnell’s indispensability, we’re told, stems from his skill shepherding Republican judicial nominees through the process and onto the federal bench. Alternatively, McConnell’s mastery of Senate rules keeps more than a few Democrats off the bench. This is practically lore among Republicans.
But McConnell’s prowess is overstated. As the saying goes, graveyards are full of indispensable men. Okay, give McConnell his due. He’s been an effective manager, advancing and opposing judicial nominations.

As the late Charles de Gaulle was reported to have said, "The cemeteries of the world are filled with indispensable men."

FTA: “ D.C. lifer McConnell is, hands down, no DeSantis man. Which tells us what? It’s not Trump, DeSantis, and the grassroots who are out-of-step. It’s the aloof, double-dealing Kentucky senator who is.”
McConnell is poison to the MAGA movement. He will try and destroy it and anyone who agrees with the America First policies. McConnell is so out of step, so old and corrupt, and so unwanted by the base that it is evident. President Trump saved his sorry behind in his last election and he turned around and stabbed him in the back. That is the kind of man China Mitch McConnell is. His only loyalty is to himself. He has to go and McCarthy right along with him. They are a drag on the party and any hope of restoring this country.

That wattle of Mitch’s holds a lot of corruption. A cold snake of a man, full of venom and hatred. I hate him back.

There are dozens of turtles living in a pond in my neighborhood. Hubby and I feed them a couple of times a week and one will even climb up the bank and eat the food right out of my hand. They have far more usefulness and redeeming qualities than the senator from Kentucky.

We need new leadership in the House and the Senate. No way that McCarthy should be assumed to take the reins just because he is there now. The same for McConnell. Time for him to retire. Neither one of these men liked or supported Trump until they saw the way the voters were behind him. That alone is enough. I would rather see Jordan in the House…and the Senate? Scott? not so sure about him either.

McConnell is no friend of ours (Trump supporters) but I always admired how the rules of the Senate with Mitch navigating was a dream no dumb down democrat could match or care to joust with him. We better think wisely if Mitch McConnell is ever dumped.

“McConnell’s stumping for Georgia GOP Senate nominees Kelly Loeffler and David Perdue in the January 2021 runoffs proved he has no feel for retail politics.”
Perhaps he once did, but definitely time for a change of BOTH McConnell AND McCarthy!
And definitely DJT as Speaker!

He does a great job until a rogue government decides to ignore anything the Supreme Court says and does. If Mitch can get the executive order, as abused by Biden and Obama, banned, he is a useless empty suit. Three branches of government, Mitch. Three.

Mitch McConnell gets relected year after year because he has excellent "constituent reacg out." No favor is too small. Now Mitch himself doesn't dirty his hands on constituents personally, but he does make sure they are all happy and taken care of!

The Dem leadership in Congress sure know how to control their members. The Repubs - not so much to the ever lasting regret of so many of us here. I like Sen Ron Johnson - he's been persistent on the Hunt Biden laptop, etc., even when some of his fellow Republicans have not supported his just and valiant efforts. I like Rep Jordan but a bit leery that he might still be all talk and no hammer once in a leadership position. But I am so disgusted by 99% in Congress that I really have little hope that even if Repubs take back Congress, little to nothing will change. They have almost all been bought off in one way or another.

Kevin McCarthy has seen which way the parade is going and is hustling to get out in front of it so he can appear to be the leader.

I do not know of anything that McConnell has done that is not ordinary, and what he has done is far less that what Republicans expect of a Republican leader. We have gotten little good, and a lot of back stabs from McConnell, while he has grown very wealthy and comfortable not doing anything.

I knew Addison Mitch the Looney Tunes Turtle was a RINO dirtbag back when he went against the Tea Party. While yammering democrat dunces Nancy Pelosi and Maxine Waters called us astro turf and told us to go to hell he said nothing. When the Odiot sicced that corrupt cow Lois Lehner and the IRS on us in 2011 he did nothing. When we retake both houses of Congress this year he along with that other coward McCarthy will do nothing. Count on it.
