On February 9, 2022, Andrew W. Coy asked, “What’s the Deal with Mike Pence?” One thing is that former Vice President Pence was always a weak leader.
While he was governor, Indiana passed the Religious Freedom Restoration Act of 2015, which essentially clarified a federal law that Democrats overwhelmingly sponsored and President Clinton signed into law. Then-senator Barack Obama supported a similar state law in Illinois. Indiana’s version simply stated that, in civil cases, courts could consider religious burdens that the conflict caused. The law never said religion would trump any other right.

Mike Pence, the definition of cowardly betrayal. The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing. ~ Edmund Burke

I'm glad somebody remembers this. I'm a Hoosier and the Religious Freedom Restoration Act was an icy cold wake up for who Mike Pence really is. That action on Pence's part made it crystal clear that he is a hard-left appeaser if not a willing collaborator. When Pence rolled out his version of the Religious Freedom Act, it was his bold raising of his flag identifying himself with the darkest, most evil parts of our society.

In addition to a lack of loyalty, I found him immensely boring and uninspired about everything.

Pence is a RINO loser, an appeaser, a collaborator with totalitarian socialism. He has made his choices and as a result should be purged.

I'm not sure we have had our real day of reckoning regarding religious freedom in this country. We were founded by Christians who codified a subset of Christian values in a rather secular manner into our constitution opening the door to all who willing to follow the same rules based on those values without necessarily adhering to the religion from whence they came. We have allowed the freedom to join in our nation without a religious affiliation consistent with that limited set of values to mean carte blanch religious freedom regardless of whether or not that religion is consistent with our founding values and the covenant to follow the same set of laws that were derived from those values.
Now the Pence's of the country are too cowardly to act in a manner consistent with out founding on the basis of allowing religious freedom which is pure rubbish.

Pence left the Catholic Church, then the Republican Party. I am a Republican Hoosier and consider him dead

Pence is a Churchian who seeks the approval of deep state while betraying decent people. He is indeed a craven coward, and probably the source of all the leaks in the Trump years too. He is a wicked man and a Judas.

True enough, Pence was and is not the strong leader we may wish he were. But he was the perfect VP choice for a man like Trump, and he served loyally and well for four years. Most of the criticisms of the man I have seen on this board are IMO beyond the pale.
Did Pence promise Trump he would challenge the election results and then double cross him on January 6? No. So all the accusations of betrayal, backstabbing, etc. have no real basis.
Is it at all clear that Pence had the constitutional authority to do what most here have advocated? I don't know. And would it have made any difference in any case? Those state legislatures were not about to reverse the certified results, however dubious the processes might have been.
The election was stolen in the months leading up to November 3. IMO Mike Pencve should not be singled out for so much vehement opprobrium.

See, nothing changed with Pence, he NEVER had the backbone to actually stand up to the leftist assaults. He INSTANTLY folded when criticized on the Religious Freedom Act.
He's like a folding umbrella. Looks tight and strong.....until you hit that little button and poof, limp rags hanging and doing no good at all.
Pence is a loser, always has been. He's GONE. His career is over.

Did anyone notice that a certain poster here didn't DENY that Pence was the leaker throughout the Trump Presidency?! Just like Biden is a puppet of the Odumbo team, perhaps Pence is Paul Ryan's puppet. Deep State with Dark Money?! In due time, all will be revealed.

Pence is showing that he is an insider RINO political animal and that he believes that by betraying Trump that enough wimpy Republicans will side with him to be the 2024 wimpy Republican Presidential Nominee. That is a tenuous thought, as current polls indicate that a great majority of real Republicans support Trump. By taking such a controversial position regarding the January 6th riot at the US Capitol Building, Pence is actually ensuring that enough real Republicans will not vote for him in the future in both upcoming primary and general elections.

Pence is of the same essence as the Bushes, McConnell, and many other Republicans: a spineless coward..
