I received a phone call on my radio show from a man who said, “Dennis, I’m a gay conservative actor in Hollywood, and it is far easier to come out of the closet as gay than as a conservative.”That call was in the 1980s.While the current cancel culture—the firing, humiliation, disparagement, and smearing—of conservatives is exponentially worse today than 30 years ago, it is not new.As a result, the great majority of Americans who are conservative—that is, about half the country—hide their true beliefs. They fear saying anything that differs with the Left. This would include such reprehensible sentiments as:With all its flaws, America is the finest country ever made.

WASHINGTON— Merrick Garland finally made his Supreme Court debut on Tuesday. Not in a justice’s black robe, but wearing the striped pants and jacket with tails reserved for government lawyers appearing before the court. The onetime high court nominee was there to take part in a tradition that dates back more than 200 years: to be introduced to the justices as the nation’s attorney general. Among the nine justices gazing down at Garland from the bench were former colleagues as well as the man ultimately appointed to the seat left vacant by the death of Justice Antonin Scalia. Republicans blocked Garland from having a hearing, much less a vote,

At a school district in Kentucky, they actually replaced their track for a million dollars worth of this COVID spending aid,” said Open The Books’ Adam Andrzejewski to The National Desk’s Jan Jeffcoat. “It's a big problem when Congress is throwing so much money at school districts they can't even hardly spend it.”
Andrzejewski said New York City public schools used COVID funding to aid in payroll spending.

The Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine could be significantly less effective against the newly discovered Omicron variant that it was against previous strains of the virus. Researchers at the African Health Research Institute (AHRI) found that there are forty times less antibodies in Pfizer vaccine recipients that can fight Omicron than there are for other variants. The pre-print study, made available Tuesday pending peer-review, implies that the vaccine could be less effective against the strain detected last month in South Africa. Conclusions from it cannot yet be drawn, though, and researchers are not yet sure how much more likely the Omicron variant is to cause infection

Does Justice Sonia Sotomayor even read the briefs in cases before the Supreme Court?
I ask because the cases don't come any bigger than Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organization, which addresses Mississippi's limit on abortion after 15 weeks. The Court is being asked to overturn the 1973 decision in Roe v. Wade and 1992 decision in Planned Parenthood v. Casey. I joined two other female physicians (a neonatologist and an obstetrician) in an amicus brief detailing advances in fetal science that have happened since 1973.
During oral arguments, Justice Sotomayor displayed abysmal ignorance of the most basic scientific and medical facts about developing human life.

A majority of voters do not think Vice President Kamala Harris has what it takes to hold the nation’s highest office if she had to assume the presidency, a Rasmussen poll released Tuesday found.
Fifty-five percent of U.S. voters “don’t think the vice president is qualified for the top job,” and 46 percent say she is “not at all qualified” for the duties of the presidency, according to the poll, which was conducted with 1,000 likely U.S. voters between December 5-6, 2021. The margin of sampling error is +/- 3 percentage points with a 95 percent level of confidence.

In exchange, all McConnell has to deliver is a quiet process without attempts to derail the vote. Is that possible, however? o get there, however, the Senate will have to pass that one-time rule chang

You wouldn’t expect an incumbent president to be much higher than 50 percent on this metric since voters in the other party will almost universally say no, they don’t want him back on the ballot — if only to avoid having to face a candidate who’s beaten them once before.
You would expect an incumbent president to be higher than — hoo boy — 22 percent.
Then again, we’ve never had a president who’ll be in his 80s if he runs for reelection. If Biden were super-old but doing a bang-up job in office, he’d probably be short of 50 here for that reason alone. But as it is, being super-old

Joe Biden is apparently taking yet another page out of Barack Obama’s playbook and is trying to influence how the “free press” is reporting on the economy in order to boost his approval ratings.
Barack Obama manipulated the media by telling them how to report on his policies in the news. His administration tried to discourage Fox News from reporting extensively on the Benghazi attack in 2012. His administration even attempted to put FCC monitors in newsrooms to determine how stories were selected, whether there was bias in reporting, and whether “critical information needs” were being met in what was a clear attempt to intimidate the media to be more friendly

WASHINGTON — Congressional leaders are hatching a complicated plan to lift the debt limit this month with only Democratic votes in the Senate, three sources told NBC News.
The strategy, which remains fluid, is a product of negotiations between Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., that would tie it to a non-controversial Medicare bill.
"I believe we've reached a solution to the debt ceiling issue that's consistent with Republican views," McConnell told reporters on Tuesday.

The outcome of the video call could have major implications as Putin weighs the potential costs of a full-fledged invasion of Ukraine.

Painfully earnest, the Nebraska Republican congressman is a devout Roman Catholic who has a perfect pro-life voting record. He served on the powerful House Appropriations Committee, and has developed a reputation for activism on behalf of persecuted religious minorities in Iraq. It was that last focus that ended up getting him in the crosshairs of the Department of Justice.

A former D.C. National Guard official is accusing two senior Army leaders of lying to Congress and participating in a secret attempt to rewrite the history of the military's response to the Capitol riot. In a 36-page memo, Col. Earl Matthews, who held high-level National Security Council and Pentagon roles during the Trump administration, slams the Pentagon's inspector general for what he calls an error-riddled report that protects a top Army official who argued against sending the National Guard to the Capitol on Jan. 6, delaying the insurrection response for hours. As the nation marks the 80th anniversary of the Pearl Harbor attack against America by Japan on Tuesday, Dec. 7, 2021, veterans around the country shared their thoughts and insights with Fox News Digital, noting the significance of the event all these decades later. "When we're united as a country, we cannot be defeated," one New York-based veteran, a father of four, told Fox News Digital. "That's my takeaway. What happened after Pearl Harbor shows that when we stand together, we cannot be beat."

White House spokeswoman Jen Psaki refused to say who'd bought Hunter Biden's recently-sold stake in a Chinese firm - and snubbed a question on whether she now believed the president's son's notorious stolen laptop was real. Psaki visibly bridled when asked by the New York Post Monday about who'd bought Biden's share in Bohai Harvest RST (Shanghai) Equity Investment Fund Management Company, a private equity firm headquartered in Shanghai. 'The president's son is not an employee of the federal government,' Psaki replied. 'So I'd point you to his representatives.'

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is apparently convinced that the shoplifting and smash-and-grab robberies in California are a myth. But they are real, perversely spectacular, and likely to spread across the country if they remain unchecked.
The retail heart of San Francisco, with its abundance of luxury shops, is usually overflowing with commerce at this time of the year. Instead, it’s become a “ghost town.”
“Widespread ‘flash mob’ looting turned Union Square – the city’s most fashionable shopping district – into an area resembling a blighted neighborhood in Detroit,” Michael Shellenberger writes in a recent New York Post op-ed.

Over the past eight decades there have many frauds promoted by the mainstream media. Perhaps the most notable, and consequential, was the media persuading an overwhelming majority of citizens over the years that their brand of journalism is a not only the epitome of a noble profession but one that always strives to be fair and balanced. But the legacy of the mainstream media is that it has always been the cheerleaders and propaganda arm of the left and the Democrat Party. The modern-day mainstream media can trace its beginning to the passage of the Communications Act of 1934

In case you haven’t guessed, my title is another way of characterizing the hoax perpetrated by actor and malefactor Jussie Smollett, currently on trial for falsely claiming he was the victim of a 2019 “hate crime.” It’s a way of framing the frame that would be quite common were the races reversed.
Of course, a white guy today doesn’t have to falsely claim anything to be demonized in media. He just has to be guilty of DWW — Defending While White, à la poor Kyle Rittenhouse or Mark McCloskey.

Joe Biden is planning to impose punitive economic sanctions on Russia if Vladimir Putin invades Ukraine, it was claimed, hours ahead of a meeting between the two leaders. The Biden administration refused to rule out deploying additional US troops to Eastern Europe should Putin invade Ukraine, although sources insist there is no plans for direct military action against the Kremlin. A White House spokesman said Monday evening said that Biden had spoken to the leaders of France, the UK, Germany and Italy, and they discussed 'their shared concern about the Russian military build-up on Ukraine's borders and Russia's increasingly harsh rhetoric.'

Don’t take it from me that getting boosted is a good idea. Take it from the GOP’s new political hero. The Wall Street Journal asked around among doctors to get a sense of whether the boosters are working. Are you seeing many patients with COVID who’ve had three doses, the paper inquired? A few here and there, they replied, as we’d expect based on the data showing 90+ percent protection against infection, not 100. But they’re rare and mild, typically involving hospital care only if the patient is elderly.
Which sounds familiar. That’s the same posture the country faced in the first few months of the vaccine rollout this year,

Joe Biden, the career politician who likes to present himself as an everyman from Scranton, Pennsylvania, and his wife who prefers to be addressed as Dr. Jill Biden, attended the Kennedy Center Honors last night in Washington. The national press was giddy with glee to see a Democrat couple back in the presidential box for the ceremony. Normal is back, baby, and Joe is bringing it.
Normal isn’t so great in this case. It’s a good illustration of the connection between politics and culture in America. Democrat politicians love the entertainment elites because they are of the same political party. Each year, the Kennedy Center hosts a weekend of celebratory events

Rep. Jared Golden is facing one of the toughest reelection battles in the country. One thing he says doesn’t keep him up at night, though, is President Joe Biden’s sinking approval rating.
“I really don't care at all. I've got my own approach to doing things,” the Maine Democrat said, adding that he handily outran Biden in Trump country. “What I know about his approval ratings right now versus my own is that I'm outpacing him by about 30 points."
Golden's nonchalance is rare.
Most Democrats are worried that Biden’s flagging polling numbers — with an approval hovering in the low 40s — will lead to a thrashing at the ballot box.

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) on Monday celebrated the reinstatement of a Florida doctor who temporarily lost his job because of President Joe Biden’s vaccine mandate.
“Jeff, a Florida doctor I met in Brandon at the Special Session bill signing, was suspended from his job due to Biden’s mandate. He has now been reinstated due to our efforts to stop this heavy-handed federal mandate,” DeSantis announced, declaring that “freedom has a home here in Florida”: [Tweet].
Indeed, last month, DeSantis, signed legislation in Brandon, Florida — an obvious nod to the “Let’s Go, Brandon!” movement sweeping the nation —

Homeless and people with low incomes will soon be housed next to the iconic and expensive Venice Beach neighborhood after the Los Angeles City Council approved last week a 136-unit apartment building.
The project, which will be built on city property that is now a parking lot, will cover 2.7 acres and the Venice Dell Community project will cost $75 million.
This is a development that is also taking place in other U.S. cities led by leftists who believe forcing diversity of income and race into prosperous and safe neighborhoods is required to achieve “equity.”
Half of the units will house homeless people,
