COVID has revealed a lot over the last year and a half, but no country has been exposed more for its underlying culture of tyranny than Australia. Formerly a beacon of freedom, community, and beautiful landscapes, the land down under has morphed into a dystopian hellscape where the government blesses its residents with an hour of free time a day. The former prison colony has reverted to its roots. Nowhere is that more apparent than in the COVID internment camps now operating in Australia. This Saturday is the 20th anniversary of 9/11, one of the darkest days in American history. To mark the occasion, President Biden will travel to Ground Zero in New York where the Twin Towers were destroyed, to Virginia where a plane was flown into the Pentagon, and to a field in Shanksville, Pennsylvania where Flight United 93 also crashed after an on-air battle between terrorists and hero passengers. This would be a sombre enough experience for any American President given that nearly 3,000 people were killed on that infamous day back in 2001 which represented a terrible failure of US intelligence.

There is a good argument to be made that the most influential figure in the Democrat party for the last 3 decades is political scientist named Ruy Teixeira. Teixeira co-authored a 2002 book, The Emerging Democrat Majority, that told Democrats that the demographic rise of Hispanics and the decline of whites (as if many Hispanics are not Caucasian) all but guaranteed one-party power. Because his co-author was a DAWM – a Dreaded Anglo White Male, Teixeira got most of the attention and power out of the prognostication, because, after all, white males are out of favor with the Dems.

Last week White House press secretary Jen Psaki said that it was not the Biden administration’s intention to arm the Taliban with billions of dollars in military equipment originally given to the Afghan government but claimed that the United States is taking steps to “reduce the amount of equipment” in the Taliban’s possession before completing the troop withdrawal at the end of the month. Psaki, fielding questions at the White House press briefing, declined to “get into details” of how specifically U.S. forces are carrying out the equipment destruction or recovery but assured reporters “that is part of their effort.”

Among the few things that Democrats and Republicans agree upon these days is that the rapid and chaotic departure of U.S. troops after a 20-year military occupation of Afghanistan was a disaster on many levels. A new I&I/TIPP Poll asks Americans the question: “Who, besides the Taliban, bears the most blame for the recent tragedy in Afghanistan?” The answer came back loud and clear: The largest share of voters, 40%, blame President Joe Biden. A smaller yet still significant share, 23%, blame Donald Trump. The other choices included Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin (2%), Secretary of State Anthony Blinken (2%), and the U.S. intelligence agencies (10%).

The US State Department has been accused of blocking dozens of Americans from fleeing Afghanistan after failing to tell the Taliban it had green-lighted charter flights. On Sunday, Reuters reported that the delay had been caused by Biden administration officials not telling Taliban leaders it had approved the departures of the chartered flights from an airport in the city of Mazar-i-Sharif, 260 miles north of Afghan capital Kabul. An exasperated flight organizer hit out at the State Department over the fiasco, saying: 'They need to be held accountable for putting these people's lives in danger.'

CNN published an op-ed Saturday arguing that even as America becomes more diverse, white supremacy will “adapt” as some black and brown Americans embrace ideas of “whiteness”: “It will still be White supremacy, with a tan.” The op-ed comes as some establishment media outlets have attempted to portray conservative talk radio host Larry Elder, who leads contenders against Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) in the California recall, as the “black face of white supremacy.”

Last week, Axios reported that the Department of Health and Human Services has lost contact with more than 4,500 children who’d crossed the border illegally after it had released them into the country. That’s a third of the migrant children it was supposed to be tracking. “In 2018, the Trump administration was criticized for being unable to account for the whereabouts of around 1,500 children released from HHS shelters during a three-month period,” Axios reports. “There were around 4,500 such minors as of the end of May who had been released under the Biden administration.”

Early twentieth-century satirist H.L. Mencken quipped, "For every complex problem, there is a solution that is simple, neat, and wrong." The ongoing COVID-19 disaster illustrates the truth of Mencken's Meta-Law. We have a virus afflicting us. Wait! That's not true. We have multiple viruses, and alpha, beta, gamma, delta, lambda, and who knows how many other variants of COVID. Yet the answer given by the CDC, Fauci, Biden, and PMSNBC is that we have to wear masks, get vaxxed, socially distance, and maybe lock down. Those are simple solutions to a much more complicated problem than those problem-solvers are willing to admit.

Biden's approval ratings are in a free fall, with good reason. Pluralities disapprove of the president's performance, based on the RealClearPolitics and FiveThirtyEight polling averages. His approval rating is in the mid-40s, a drop of about 10 percentage points from just five weeks ago. (snip) So what does Biden do when he's under pressure? He lashes out and lies, just like he's done his entire career. (snip) On September 3 he falsely claimed he visited the Pittsburgh synagogue where a shooter killed 11 people. Nope, didn't happen

President Biden’s address to the nation concerning his surrender of Afghanistan to the Taliban was obviously a desperate attempt to convince the public that it wasn’t the disaster we watched in real time. The actual effect of his weirdly belligerent speech was to confirm his inability to grasp the military and foreign policy complexities associated with his role as Commander in Chief. This has sent his approval numbers into a nosedive from which it will be difficult to recover. A new Yahoo News/YouGov poll, for example, shows his approval rating at an all time low of 44 percent and that only a third of Americans believe he handled Afghanistan properly.
Is Joe Biden Senile or Just Dumb? replies

Sometimes it is difficult to know whether or not Joe Biden is senile or just dumb. I know it’s tempting to ascribe everything he does to his dementia, but he’s been stupid for his whole life. Even people suffering from dementia have moments of lucidity, so it’s really impossible to know what is the true motivation behind the President’s asininity. The effects and the facts of it, however, are easy and important to dissect, because whether it’s due to him losing his grip on reality, that he’s just a very simple and dumb man, or a combination of both doesn’t really matter, what matters is the end result.

While several blue states lost seats, Colorado was the exception, gaining its eighth congressional seat due to a gain in population. Joe Biden promised to control the coronavirus pandemic, and he is failing. Today, there are more new coronavirus cases than there were at this point in 2020. The economy is sputtering, and parents are starting to worry that schools will close once again. Moreover, FDA officials are resigning in protest at the White House’s effort to impose booster shots that they say are not yet supported by scientific evidence — breaking a central Biden campaign promise to “follow the science.” Biden has repeatedly touted his administration’s success in distributing coronavirus vaccines. But Biden has followed the plans left for him by the Trump administration, which not only developed the vaccines

But there’s a lot of failure to go around — including the leadership in the military not standing up to Biden and telling him that his moves were placing the mission and Americans at greater risk. It’s something that one would think wouldn’t take a rocket scientist in terms of military strategy to figure out — you don’t close your fortified air base and pull out your troops before you extract Americans and the Afghan allies who you need to get out.
