Meeting the president of the United States has been both an honor and a sense of comfort throughout history for military families grappling with losing loved ones to the horrors of war. That tradition seemingly came screeching to a halt in the past week as nearly half of the Gold Star parents who lost their loved ones in the Kabul suicide blast have publicly excoriated President Joe Biden for his role in their deaths.Parents have said on television and print that Biden is at fault for the tragedy outside the gates of Kabul airport during the U.S. evacuation. The truth doesn’t mind being questioned, but a lie doesn’t like to be challenged: White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki offered a fine example of that observation Wednesday by refusing to discuss that damning July 23 phone call — leaked audio of which shows President Joe Biden knew well in advance that Afghanistan’s army was falling before the Taliban and that the situation was dire.
“The perception around the world and in parts of Afghanistan, I believe, is that things aren’t going well in terms of the fight against the Taliban,” he told Afghan President Ashraf Ghani. “And there’s a need, whether it is true or not,

President Trump said that his one-time close ally and United Nations Ambassador Nikki Haley can't decide how she feels about him. 'Every time she criticizes me, she uncriticizes me about 15 minutes later,' the former president told Vanity Fair. Haley, like a number of other Republicans, is rumored to be considering a 2024 run for the GOP nomination, but will have to wait until after Trump has decided if he is running. Meanwhile, Trump kept up his criticism of his vice president Mike Pence, saying that he shot any chance at the nomination by certifying the vote count in Congress in January.

For many Americans waking up on Thursday, they must have thought that they had experience a real Rip Van Winkle of a snoozer for the last 50 years. Across the spectrum, legal experts were declaring the death of Roe v. Wade after the Supreme Court refused to enjoin a Texas anti-abortion law in an emergency filing. The mainstream media coverage ranged from the outright death of Roe to its being rendered to a vegetative state.
The New York Times outright asked "Is this how Roe v. Wade dies?" The answer is no. This is how legal analysis dies.

Last week, Amherst College announced that its students will be subject to double-masking and to COVID tests every other week throughout the fall semester. Indoor dining services will be shut down, and the size of gatherings severely restricted.
Students, all of whom were already required to be vaccinated, will spend non-class time in their dorm rooms and may leave campus only in a handful of defined emergency situations. One of these is apparently going to the bank, though what a bunch of would-be rowdy undergraduates who can’t hit up the local dive bars or have a coffee will need money for is a mystery.

San Francisco is offering to pay people $300 a month - if they promise not to shoot each other. The 'woke' scheme to curb soaring violent crime is set to begin in October, offering gift cards as an incentive for prospective criminals to lay down their guns. Called the Dream Keeper Fellowship, the pilot program will kick off with 10 individuals who are deemed at high risk of committing a shooting or being shot, paying them $300 to act as 'public safety ambassadors.' Sweeteners could kick the monthly payments up to $500 if they meet certain benchmarks, such as seeking a job or maintaining parole appointments.

Joe Biden read what they gave him to read about his “extraordinary success” in Afghanistan. And once again he became that angry old man at the end of the bar at closing time.
He used that special voice of his, the Commander McBragg voice, the one he uses to recount his fabulist heroic exploits, from vanquishing the mythical thug “Corn Pop” in their titanic rumble behind the pool or lying about the time he was mythically arrested trying to visit Nelson Mandela in jail.

One of Texas’ largest abortion clinics rushed to perform “67 abortions in 17 hours” ahead of a deadline that would effectively ban most abortions in the state after six weeks — the time a fetal heartbeat can be detected. The Texas law behind the new restrictions went into effect at 12 a.m. Wednesday morning, apparently prompting numerous women in the state to quickly get abortions when they may have been waiting to do so. Today the State Department admits the “majority” of the qualified Afghan people who assisted the U.S. during operations in Afghanistan, Afghan Special Immigrant Visa (SIV) applicants, did not get evacuated. That admission begs the question: then who the heck are those 116,000 refugees?

Let me explain. This patient had none of the classic symptoms of COVID: No shortness of breath, no fever, no chills, no congestion, no loss of sense of smell or taste, no neurological issues. The only COVID symptoms my friend had were nausea and fatigue, which could also be explained by the surgery. However, nearly three weeks earlier, a COVID test had come back positive.

Of the 14,600 required check-in calls made in the first five months of 2021, Axios reported Wednesday that it found in a Freedom of Information Act request only 4,890 were successful in reaching either the minor migrant or their sponsor.

The Diversity, Equity and Inclusion office of Princeton University has a message for incoming students: It wants them to participate in “tearing down” the very institution they have worked so hard to attend. And to drive this message home, the office is more than happy to tear down those who dissent from its official orthodoxy. As members of the class of 2025 arrive on campus, they receive a mandatory injection not of a vaccine against COVID, but of indoctrination. An official video freshmen are required to watch presents an utterly one-sided and negative picture of Princeton’s history. The video and the accompanying Web site are expensively produced. Yet slick

Utah Republicans are fed up with Sen. Mitt Romney, according to a survey released on Wednesday. A poll from OH Predictive Insights found 63% of registered Republican voters in the state would rather have someone else from the party representing them, compared to 35% who stand with Mr. Romney, the party’s 2012 presidential nominee.(Snip)So far, the approach isn’t paying off in his political backyard, where 58% of GOP voters said there is room for Mr. Trump in the party, compared to 42% who said the same about Mr. Romney. Look, Biden is senile. He was always stupid, and always stubbornly attached to whatever dumb ideas formed in the spongy mass of cells that passes for his brain, but now it’s perfectly clear that this guy is riding the Acela Express to Dementiaville. And the media, sitting front row on what could be the biggest story in political history, just sort of pretends that the guy who is one forgotten Depends short of wetting himself on national television is A-OK.
But the job of the licensed, registered regime media is not to break stories, no matter how big. It’s to run interference for its masters.

On the same day that thirteen mutilated bodies were flown into Dover – the result of Biden’s botched withdrawal and representing the first American casualties in Afghanistan since February of 2020 – former Secretary of Education Arne Duncan compared people like you and me who simply don’t want to be poked, prodded, and masked anymore to the 7th-century Talibanimals that detonate themselves in public.
In a still-active tweet, Duncan stated: “Have you noticed how strikingly similar both the mindsets and actions are between the suicide bombers at Kabul’s airport, and the anti-mask and anti-vax people here? They both blow themselves up, inflict harm on those around them,

Joe Biden’s son Beau is dead. Did you know that? His first wife also died, as did his infant daughter, back in the 1970s. Have you heard that story? If you’ve been alive in the last 50 years and have at least one good ear, the odds of you hearing about Biden’s loss are higher than the odds of an American being successfully evacuated from Afghanistan after Joe abandoned you there. I’d never tell anyone how to grieve, but Joe Biden doesn’t grieve so much as exploit the deaths that touched his life, and it’s pretty gross.
There is no doubt that Joe Biden has suffered loss in his life.

Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY) told reporters Wednesday that President Joe Biden will not “be removed from office” in wake of the deadly Afghan evacuation that left 13 U.S. military personnel killed, an estimated 200 American citizens stranded, and billions of dollars worth of equipment in the hands of the Taliban. “Well, look the president is not going to be removed from office … I think the way these behaviors get adjusted in this country is at the ballot box,” the Wall Street Journal reported McConnell’s remarks. “There isn’t going to be an impeachment,” the Kentucky Senator who lost his majority in the 2020 election cycle added.

How does a leader decide what to do?
The most logical response is: “Cui bono?”—”Who benefits?”—from the decision.
If some policy benefits your country most, you should, within moral bounds, pursue it.
If your enemies benefit most, you should avoid it.
I’d be curious to learn what answer proponents of America leaving Afghanistan—conservative or liberal—would give to the question, “Cui bono?”
I can say that until this moment, I have not read or heard a single cogent argument from proponents of American withdrawal as to how exactly it benefits America.

Joe Biden made a big deal about always consulting the "science." He vowed to follow the "experts." He vowed to control COVID.
But well, that promise was like all of Joe's other promises: Totally phony.
Two more leading health care regulators, genuine experts in their field, have resigned their long-held positions just as the flu and COVID season is upon us. Their exit follows high-profile resignations at the Centers for Disease Control -- Nancy Messonnier and Anne Schuchat. Word is out that these professionals don't like being issued orders about what the 'science' is from the White House before they can make their determinations

Rassmussen’s most recent tracking poll of likely voters offers some very bad news for the “most popular man ever elected president in the history of mankind.” It’s taken eight short months for his supposed Mt. Rushmore status to come hurling back to Earth. As it turns out, it’s not even Republicans and Independents he has to worry about. It’s his voters in his own party turning their backs, too.
Biden is down to 42% approval with all likely voters. A recent USA Today-Suffolk University poll has VP Harris at 35% approval, 54% disapproval. Rasmussen reports 32% of Democrats say Biden should resign now.

In a 5-4 decision, the highest court in the nation declined to block Texas’ newest abortion law despite protests from Planned Parenthood, other abortion activists, and even journalists.
Radical pro-abortion facilities and activists first brought an emergency petition to the Supreme Court with the hopes that the justices would at least temporarily block the law from going into effect on Sept. 1.

Allow me to suggest three cheat codes for separating truth from propaganda in the Age of Mass Media Manipulation:
(1) Whatever is censored is true.
(2) Refusal to audit elections is proof that vote totals are unverifiable and fraudulent.
(3) Any president who inexplicably disappears for days at a time and admits that he is "not allowed" to answer questions from the press is not actually president.
If you put (1), (2), and (3) together, you get an incompetent and schizophrenic government incapable of protecting its armed forces overseas, securing its borders at home, preventing runaway inflation from destroying the economy, or acting in the best interest of the American people.

Joe Biden addressed the nation on his extremely flawed and deadly withdrawal from Afghanistan. His comments came a day late and a dollar short once again, despite claiming that the buck stops with him." His address on August 31 blamed everybody but himself for the utter failure of his withdrawal.
Once again, he threw his military advisers under the bus, stating that they unanimously recommended closing Bagram Air Base over Kabul International for the evacuation. Anyone with an ounce of strategic planning training knew that this was a bad choice. Why would you withdraw and surrender a base with a 30-mile defensible perimeter

Once again, Donald Trump is hinting—hard—that he’ll be running in 2024. A week ago, he put out an epic attack ad against Joe Biden that could serve no other purpose than to weaken Biden substantially before the next election. As the awful facts about the Afghanistan retreat have unfolded, there’s even more material for an ad, and Trump’s Save America PAC didn’t hesitate to use it.
While the first ad, from last week, had nods to inflation, the open border, and Biden’s tyrannical plans around COVID, before turning its attention to Afghanistan, this new ad hones in immediately on the debacle in Afghanistan. What makes the ad especially powerful

President Biden is struggling to live up to his "empathizer in chief" label given by some media at the start of his presidency after facing a wave of backlash for his treatment of Gold Star families following last week’s terrorist attack in Kabul, Afghanistan, that left 13 U.S. service members dead and 22 wounded.
The president on Sunday met in Dover, Delaware, with the family members of the 13 killed, but several of them have spoken out against him in the days since, accusing him of repeatedly bringing up his late son Beau and saying he routinely checked his watch during the dignified transfer of the deceased's remains.

Candidate Joe Biden said last October that we were nearing the “most important election of our lifetime.” He was right. What made it so crucial was keeping him out of the White House.
President Joe Biden is visibly exhausted. His mental decline that began long before the 2020 election appears to have now gone straight over a cliff. The first seven months of his term have depleted him so thoroughly that the toll taken by eight years of the modern presidency look mild in comparison.
His errors and poor judgment continue and compound.

We’ve been hearing a lot of speculation that the Afghan debacle is more than it seems – that rather than being a typical outcome of activity by some of the dumbest, most ill-informed, and most blinkered individuals ever to occupy places in the U.S government, it is instead a dark, convoluted conspiracy aimed at some goal sinister beyond words.
Some of this is from the usual suspects who see conspiracies every time a cat falls out of a tree, and some by more reputable people. The core concept here can be expressed simply: “There has to be something else going on. Nobody could be that stupid.”

It’s mourning, rather than morning, in America, if a new poll from the Morning Consult organization is accurate that the country is perceived as headed in the wrong direction. In a lengthy national tracking survey co-sponsored with the generally liberal Politico website, almost two-thirds of Americans indicated that things in the U.S. have “pretty seriously gotten off on the wrong track.” The same number, 61 percent, disapprove of President Joe Biden’s handling of the Afghanistan crisis. And 49 percent disapprove of Biden’s overall job performance, while 47 percent approve, which The Hill noted is a “record low.”

Yesterday, I reported about a leaked call between Joe Biden and Afghanistan (former) President Ashraf Ghani. Reuters got a transcript and audio of the July 23rd call during which Biden allegedly told Ghani that he had to publicly present the “perception” that the fight against the Taliban was going well “whether it is true or not.”
“I need not tell you the perception around the world and in parts of Afghanistan, I believe, is that things are not going well in terms of the fight against the Taliban,” Biden said. “And there is a need, whether it is true or not, there is a need to project a different picture.”

SACRAMENTO — Republicans harnessed pandemic anger months ago to qualify the recall election against California Gov. Gavin Newsom. Now the Democrat is banking on a pandemic strategy of his own to save his job.
After tiptoeing around Covid-19 issues early this summer, Newsom is issuing mask and vaccine mandates and taking a tough-on-the-virus approach in the final stretch of the recall campaign. The tactics have turned the race into the nation’s biggest referendum on how to fight the pandemic — and further inflamed partisan divisions over public health. Just as Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis thinks banning mandates is a winning message in his red state,

The law allows private citizens to bring civil suits against anyone who assists a pregnant person seeking an abortion in violation of the ban.

Ida’s moisture-laden remnants evidently spawned multiple tornadoes throughout the region in an hours-long siege Wednesday, ripping off roofs, uprooting trees, and snapping utility poles. And the storm that also set off road-closing downpours isn’t quite done with us.
Forecasters are warning that the Philadelphia region could experience its most robust river flooding in a decade during the next two days. Late Wednesday night, floodwaters swamped Columbus Boulevard as the Delaware River rose nearly 1.5 feet above flood stage. “We’ll probably have a lot of it,” said Sarah Johnson, a lead meteorologist at the National Weather Service Office in Mount Holly. Joe Biden’s ship has finally run aground on the polls.
They began to nosedive at the beginning of the Afghanistan debacle in the middle of last month. For example, his polling average went under 50 by August 16.
But now, Biden’s numbers have absolutely cratered in all respects.
Both the Real Clear Politics average and the FiveThirtyEight average were underwater.
FiveThiryEight had 47.2 disapproving and 46.7 approving. Real Clear Politics really skewered him with 49.2 disapproving to 45.8 approving, first time the approval was under 46. That last graph is pretty striking. If you factor in that the polls tend to weight to Democrats, you know the numbers are likely even worse.

More veterans are reaching out for crisis line help after the collapse of Afghanistan than before Biden’s disastrous withdrawal from the country. A sharp uptick in calls has been seen since the Taliban took control of Kabul. It’s a sign of the level of stress that veterans are experiencing as a military presence in Afghanistan ends, especially those veterans who served in that country.
The increase is actually being seen as a good sign for the professionals in charge of the helplines. It means former service members are reaching out for help, an encouraging trend

According to reports, the U.S. has evacuated nearly 120,000 people from Afghanistan. Only about 6,000 of them are Americans.
Moreover, it appears that only a small percentage of the non-American evacuees hold the special immigrant visa given to Afghans employed by, or on behalf of, the U.S. government. Representative Tom Tiffany (R., Wis.) says that of the 2,000 Afghans housed at a base in his state, not one has that visa. A far-left California teacher with a hammer and sickle tattoo and an apparent affinity for Antifa and brutal communist dictators will be fired after bragging on video that he was working to radicalize his students "further and further left," his employer announced Wednesday.
In a letter, the Natomas Unified School District Superintendent Chris Evans wrote that Gabriel Gipe, a social studies teacher at Inderkum High School, would be terminated after Project Veritas found Antifa and Mao Zedong posters in his classroom and recorded him talking about indoctrinating his students.
